Disappointed--difficult to clean, unsanitary

Love the idea of the product and how compact it is to take with you. However, even when cleaned as instructed, soaked in a bleach concentration, and put through the dishwasher, still smells HORRIBLE. Mold easily builds up between the metal straw and interior rubber that simply can't be cleaned. Had to throw it out after only a month. Not worth it.

cleaning is a pain

I really like the concept. All for protecting the environment. This iss the problem. Cleaning. Easy to clean the inside of the straw. It is the outside that is the problem. The area b3etween the stainless steel shell and the rubber lining. This area does not dry easily and if it does not dry there wiii be a black looking liquid. I now stretch the lining so I can dry the area between the shell and the lining. This really takes some time. When they fix this problem I will buy it again but not until there are improvements to the ease of cleaning. Oh one more thing. They will occasionally shock you it your lips touch the stainless steel.

Nice idea, some flaws

I like the idea - a lot. And this straw works and the overall package is well thought out.

Minor annoyances though: The drying rack keeps getting stuck in my carrying case making it near impossible for me to pull it out without breaking it. I already did.

Secondly the straw is odd to clean at times and I never know how clean it actually is. At some point I will question enough whether its sanitized that I will just dump it. Odd, huh!?

They Thought of Everything

This is the best reusable straw out there because it has all the features that one would want when traveling. It has a sectioned stainless steel outer shell with a pliable silicone interior. A slight pull on the outer casing, exposes the silicone interior and allows for the straw to fold into the most compact little case which has a small ring to hang off of a key chain, etc. There is an interior basket where the folded straw goes and when the basket is removed, the open cutout design provides air to circulate to dry the washed straw. To wash the straw, they've included a handy silicone straw cleaner that wraps around the basket for storage. My straw is in rainbow and is really sharp looking. Very well made, seems durable and worth the cost. Multiple people have admired it and asked about it. I have gladly given out the company's name especially to people at juice bars that hand out plastic straws to customers. Only complaint is that I had a very difficult time removing the inner basket for the first time. I love this straw and case so much that I couldn't take a point off.

So far so good, but it stays at the office

I switched over from glass because the one I carried with me finally shattered.

Chose this because of the rainbow option. Seems to be made well, durable, quality item. I keep this in the office so I don't fold it up and carry it with me. I use the for the morning celery juice and for tea when it cools down a little. So far so good. I did like the glass straws because you can see the cleanliness inside, but I don't use this for smoothies where there's fruit pulp. The drying rack needs to be pried out with a pen or something. I never use it.

I just received this beauty today. The straw and case is well constructed. I like the look of the straw and I appreciate that it is collasible and portable.

I can't wait to use the straw. I am curious to see how the rubber in the straw will hold up over time.

As someone who always needs a straw this product is great. For those of you asking if the straw is long enough for a Yeti, it certainly is (see picture). I've put this through the dishwasher a handful of times already and it is holding up well. One thing to be aware of is that the straw will not fit through the normal yeti slide lid. You will need the lid with the straw opening such as with the Rtic lid.

Inside is hard to clean.

When I bought this I was very excited to finally get a reusable straw that I could clean on the go and fit in my purse easily. The inside that the squeegee goes through is easily cleaned, but the rubber on the outside of that part, the part that actually touches the metal also gets whatever you're drinking stuck in it. I didn't even think about having to clean that part when I first got this straw. I got a caramel macchiato from Starbucks, used my straw, used the squeegee, and put my straw away. The next time I opened it, it smelled a little funky and I found MOLD growing on the inside of it! I make sure to at least rinse the straw with water after use anymore.

If you just use this straw for water, its great. If you use it to drink anything else, it can be a bit problematic.

Wonderful product and love the thought put behind it. I feel bad if i have to use single use plastic straw. With my own final straw, i dont have to worry.

If i have to count a number of straws I avoided using and throwing per year as compared to using final straw, the numbers are quite remarkable.

Easy to use and clean. Works perfectly as advertised. The silicon material looks good quality.
