I wasn't sure what to expect being that I hadn't heard of this product when I purchased him. The physical makeup of the robot alone was enough to get me to order him. And after having this guy for about a week now, I can honestly say that we (my son and I) are thrilled with the purchase. I am a collector of all things Marvel, especially Iron Man, and my son who just turned 7 is also into it. The number of things that you can do with this robot is impressive. The AR gaming experience is much better than I would have imagined and the on screen visuals are really good! My son gets a kick out of being able to put his face inside the mask which is also a fun feature. The pre-programmed movements paired with Tony Starks one liners is another positive and authentic to the franchise. Overall, the price is a little steep but considering all the stuff this thing does makes it very much worth it.
"Hail Hitler" right arm defect. Be careful using around children.

I've tested two iron man robots by now, both with the same defect, the right arm once raised, can no longer lower, presenting the "hail hitler" arm motion. I have spoken to the manufacturer over the course of two weeks, stating to me that it may just be a bad batch shipped to amazon. I hope they're able to determine which batches contain "hail hitler" robots and remove those from possible sale immediately as to not cause children to mimic the right arms raised movements.
amazing robot

what I liked the most about this robot, was how well built it is. It is quite robust. The features of it are very detailed and the paint job is great. Well worth the buy..AAA+
Tailored more to video gamers, not robotics fans

Our first UBTECH was the JIMU Mystical Series: UnicornBot which retails for about $100. It had over 400 parts, color cards and sensors, DC motor, controller, and a quick start guide. The kids are really hooked and want more of the coding/building kits. They like the build, code customized approach with the app, it really challenges the kids to problem solve and inspire creativity. If robotics is the future then this is a good place to start.
The UBTECH Marvel Avengers: Endgame Iron Man Mk50 Robot (retails $289) in contrast is completely built, comes with a sensor pad, download the app, usb charging cord, and no instructions.
We had to watch 4-5 videos to find the charger port (which is under the red panel on the back right shoulder blade) and how to use the app to create custom commands and how to play). The app did freeze a few times, and is quirky that you have to input email address whenever you open the app. The robot is a decent size, just over 12 inches tall.
Overall, the kids really liked the building/coding kits better, since this comes fully assembled. We had high expectations given our experience with the Unicorn robot set and the fact that the Ironman robot is three times more expensive. This is more tailored to kids that aren't into building and coding, but rather a glorified video game via a limited featured robot. The app needs some work.
Fun toy...but that price!!

Don't get me wrong...this is an amazing toy. From being able to upload your own face and voice to it, from its mobility (although awkward and stilted), to the helmet moving and arms posing as you please, and ultimately its AR experience blasting things in your living room, it's a blast.
No question there.
But when you consider the price, you're able to get something on par with a Nintendo Switch. Let that sink in a little bit. You can take something or plug it into your TV and play numerous games...or get an Iron Man toy with relatively minimal "replay" value and, to be frank, a novelty that wears off quickly after tinkering around with it a bit. Even as an avid collector as my wife is, she flinched when I told her what the cost.
At the time of this writing, $289 just seems to be too much. To be honest, I think that $149 would be pushing it but more in line with what I'm thinking it should be at; it's no drone and it certainly isn't a gaming console. For that amount of money, you could drop augment your existing PS4 with a VR headset and enjoy a far more varied experience with numerous games to add to it.
It's a cool toy, but the price is a tad too high.
Awesome!!!

This thing is awesome. By far the coolest toy, robot, or electronic device I have ever used. Quality is exceptional - this guy is heavy duty, exceptionally well detailed, and lights up in all the right places.
There are two main play options - free control and AR games. The free control has so many features it is impossible to describe in sufficient detail. You can go super basic (walking turning) or super advanced (programming multiple moves and routines). Every single thing this does is amazing - its arms and hands and legs and head and body moves. You can record your own voice and have it play back. You can make a video of your face and have it play back on the screen. Everything is easy to control and very intuitive.
The AR games are also awesome. You sit or stand behind this guy, put him on an included positioning mat, and then battle various threats that appear on screen. These are superimposed over your actual camera view, and scenery gets added to whatever room you are in. The amount of detail is amazing.

My first ubtech is stormtrooper now sitting on shelf for display , glad u got it for a deep discount less than 100 and a free gift card yaaaaay, this Ironman is like the the stormtrooper it gets boring after a while it's really slow toy for kids I used gift card again I'm glad I save lots of them but I still pays over 150 $ after gift cards what I'm trying to say is save your $$$ wait for a few months or until the price down to 99$ or 129$ it's a cool robotic toy just kinda expensive to buy full price.
Absolutely stunning and so much fun!

This Iron Man is absolutely delightful! I am just amazed at how well built he is. The quality is so impressive! He really looks like the Iron Man in reduced sized. First off the packaging is beautiful. He starts off half visible in the box and it looks great so it's sure to please anyone if you are considering this as a gift. Do be sure to check out the requirements for the app in order to use it. Once you've downloaded the app you can pull Tony out of the box to get started right away. Mine needed a quick update and honestly it took me longer to open the back flap to find the port than it did to update. It only comes with a very small little one page sheet for starting up but I found a video from the manufacturer online that helped me figure out where the charging port was located. Even without charging he was ready to play with. The body is just perfect right down to the tiny fingers. The colors look absolutely great. This would be fun and eye catching just to have on display!
The app has different modes that you can program and even have available for using without the app. It also comes with an AR mode, hence the requirement for an iPad Pro iPad, which looks stunning. The AR mode is like playing a video game. While you play with your device Iron Man is lighting up and shooting. It comes with a small AR mat to use in this mode. There are different levels to progress through.
There is also an easy play mode that lets you move him around with the controls and vary what you do. You can turn lights on all over it and change the color of the sensors. You can enable preloaded sequences for dialogue and firing. You can open the face mask to reveal the cartoonish version of Tony Stark in the suit. You can also add your own image and dialogue as well. It's very easy to play with right out of the box. He does not move that well on softer surfaces, even a firm flat area rug, but moved well on hard surfaces. His pace when he moves is not very fast but he can move his arms and face quickly when you tell it to. The battery life had been great.
This has really exceeded my expectations! It can do so much and is a a lot of fun. My only real complaint is that I'm not a fan of the programmed voice. I wish it had been a voice that was more fun. Tony Stark should be more of a charming misfit than I'm hearing with this voice. Some of the dialogue is also very much not Tony Stark, like a line from Captain America about walking it off if you die, which seems an odd choice for Iron Man. If you have more questions about what this can do check out the manufacturer's website because they have great videos showing you what it can do and how to use it. I hope they make more because I would definitely buy Iron Man a sidekick. I think he needs a Spider-Man friend. This would make a great gift for any fan from a child to an adult.
