Perfection

Props to Microsoft for listening to the community and updating this mouse with an amazing sensor. Build quality is excellent. Form factor is legendary. RGB tail light is subtle and well done. I've never found a mouse that fits my larger hands as well as this one. The only thing I want at this point is for Microsoft to add profile options to the software. People don't seem to understand this mouse and say that no one wanted a retro mouse brought back from the dead. This mouse isn't for you then. This is the true ergonomic mouse for those with big paws. The one, the only, the Intellimouse. Long live the king.

Worth every penny.

Instead of collecting coins, or baseball cards I like collecting and trying new mice. If it's been made within the past 15 years, good chance I own or at-least tried it at lans or friend's houses. So when I heard about Microsoft listening to the community and remaking the intellimouse I was highly intrigued yet skeptical.

But, due to the legendary pedigree of the original, I decided to bite the bullet and drop what I feel is a premium amount for a mouse. Hefty expectations were waiting for this product and oh boy, did it not disappoint. Here is why,

A) Shape & comfort: Read this carefully, if you have larger hands (17cm or above) this is the mouse you have been looking for. It fits absolutely perfectly for a right handed palm, claw or like me a hybrid of the two.

B) Build quality: Feels extremely polished and well built. Ever try an apple product back in the day, then it's knock off competitor? That material and weight difference? Yeah, same type of feeling here. Premium high quality shell, sides and buttons. It genuinely feels like a premium mouse, not some chunk of plastic that weighs as much as a feather and just as fragile.

C) Performance: The pwm sensor included is Godlike. You can also grab the microsoft keyboard & mouse control to adjust everything from DPI, tailight color and even lift off + angle shaping! I genuinely tried to "trip" the sensor and cause it to slip up in the most unreal track and flick situations. Never fails. In gaming, the tracking due to the combo of amazing shell + sensor was actually provable. From my g403 to the Intellimouse, my zenyatta accuracy in Overwatch shot up by 7% overall in just TWO games with the mouse!

Conclusion: Top tier, and I genuinely mean top tier mouse. It covers Gaming and Desktop environments perfectly, and hangs with any other mouse on the market. If you're looking for a right handed, premium mouse with one of the best sensors on the market, you owe it to yourself to buy this. Splurge a couple dollars more if this is past your budget slightly. I had my reservations, but surprisingly Microsoft knocked this out of the park.

Ubermouse

I'm not a gamer. However I do a lot of detailed graphics/photographic work using a 30" screen. So, I wanted something with a bit more accuracy than the typical mouse that comes bundled with a PC. This mouse is just what I was looking for. It is customizable enough (though you have to download the software) to make its movements an extension of my mind, not just my hand. It's shaped as if somebody used my hand as the mold for it. And, it isn't encumbered with dozens of buttons and wheels that you find on gamer-designed mice. Pricey? Maybe a little; but really worth the quality.

Seems nice
by Greg P (5 out of 5 stars)

I have owned a lot of mouses over the years. It's been hard to find a good one the last few years. It seems like they're either cheaply made or they're made for gamers and have 1000 buttons and weird stuff I don't need. My second Logitech 705 in a year died this week so I decided to go another route.

I saw MS had released this Intellimouse Pro and thought it looked like it was worth a try. It's been a while since I've owned one made by Microsoft. On that note, I don't think I've owned a corded mouse since the late 90's or early 2000's either.

It feels good. It seems quite a bit larger than the Logitech ones I'd been using for a while, but any time you change mice there's a period to get used to them. It does remind me of the old Intellimice from back in the day. The sensor seems to be high quality. No skips or problems tracking on my desk. It started working as soon as I plugged it in. Windows 10 handled the drivers and it didn't require I download or install anything new.

All in all I'd say it's a winner. Granted nothing will ever outdo the 1987 version of the Microsoft Mouse. That'll forever be my gold standard from a simpler time when things were better made. If they could bring that back with some modern updates (usb, lose the ball, but give it a little more weight to make it feel like the old one) and maybe work in a scroll wheel that's unobtrusive it would be a winner.

Simple yet great

Has the great classic shape and feel of Intelli-mouse with a more modern feel and look. The feet are really smooth and it moves very smooth now compared to older versions. The cord is not rubber, it's woven like paracord so it doesn't stay in that annoying shape they usually get stuck in from being folded up. I can't see any optical light coming from it, just the RBG in the front, by default it is red so at first it looks like any other optical mouse, but you've got to install the most recent Microsoft mouse and keyboard center software then you can change the color of that light to whatever you like, only then did I realize there really isn't any other light coming from the bottom when I pick it up, or at least I can't see any.

Mouse was fine, but Amazon can do better
by Grey Family (2 out of 5 stars)

I ordered the Light Shadow version and the product arrived used. First sign was no plastic wrap. You could tell the item had been opened previously. The cord was not wrapped neatly, the Teflon feet on the mouse had scratches from being used on a hard table and the USB connector showed insertion marks from being connected to a computer.

Normally if the device functioned I wouldn't care too much. Except in this case, the device is a labeled as a Special Edition and I paid a full retail price. I think I am going to order direct from the manufacture to ensure I am getting a genuine and sealed device.

I returned the device. The only thing I can think of is there is a lot of people show rooming this device on Amazon and returning. This one must have been recirculated instead of sent back to the supplier for refurbishment.

Needless to say I was disappointed.

Big hands enjoy reprieve!
by Joe N. (5 out of 5 stars)

I've searched far and wide to find a mouse comfortable enough for long sessions of gaming and photo shop! Fully stretched, my hand measures from the tip of my thumb to the tip of my pinky 9 inches and this mouse is perfect.

Pros: Ergonomic Fit, cool LED light, slip-resistant matte finish, comfortable mouse wheel, and a durable build.

Cons: Maybe i'm old school, but, I'm not crazy about braided cables. Maybe it's more durable that way? Not sure. Not enough to subtract a star though.

Notes: It could use a DPI button for gaming sessions, but it feels sufficient for gaming at max pointer speed.

Solid, simple, functional mouse

Finally got tired of my malfunctioning cheap mouse and spent money on this Microsoft Pro Intellimouse.

I am a right-handed man with medium to large hands. Fit is great, the left and right clickers and scroll work correctly,

it tracks correctly on a mouse pad. Have not tried any of the customization options.

We'll see how it does with longevity, but after having had it for a couple days I am very pleased.

Loud, Tough Mouse Click
by illiandantic (2 out of 5 stars)
September 2, 2019

I feel bad about my rating of this "

Microsoft Pro Intellimouse - Dark Shadow
." I bought this because my three previous Corsair mice died sudden deaths due to their use of cheap clicking parts, and just about all other mice seem to suffer from the same problem. In this case, I'm wondering if it's an opposite issue: clicking with this mouse is really, really loud and somewhat difficult to do. I don't know if it's because (maybe) Microsoft is using a more durable part than other manufacturers or what. But, the amount of force needed to click, coupled with the sloping shape of the mouse button area (and that noise -- it's like a staple gun or something) makes using the mouse annoying. I feel like the force of the click is pushing the mouse away from where I want it. Otherwise, the mouse is OK (it's a pretty big mouse, though, if you have small hands). So, I'm rating it at a Not Very Good 2 stars out of 5 and forcing Corsair to replace at least one of their mice that I own so I can use that again. This mouse will be a backup for when I have to re-RMA that Corsair mouse again in a couple of months.

Disappointed. Just... disappointed.

First off, I have used Microsoft mice since the beginning of time. I fondly remember the two Optical Mouse Blue models I literally wore out. I even used the Microsoft Comfort 6000 mouse despite its crappy sensor because I loved the shape of Microsoft mice and the way they fit my 20 cm x 10 cm hand. So I was excited when this new Pro Intellimouse came out.

Until I got it. (And the process of getting it was literally a nightmare. Amazon, you did not distinguish yourself shipping this product to me!)

I literally could not get comfortable holding this mouse. It seemed wider than the previous Microsoft mice I remember gripping with my big hand. The weight seemed heavier than the previous models. And the side buttons didn't feel comfortable at all, particularly the forward button. The feet seemed to scratch on my Qck Mass mousepad, too.

Needless to say, this mouse went back the same day I got it. Totally disappointed!
