FOUND THE SOLUTION FOR ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS!
by Shannon Nikic (5 out of 5 stars)

Gazillion Bubbles Solution. Buy it, refill it, seriously, it's a huge difference.

This item had such mixed reviews I was very timid about buying it but I had to try. I have two boys, one that's almost 2 yrs old and one that's 3. They both LOVE bubbles so much! The 3 year old has autism and it is very hard to direct him. You can not teach him to use something, you can't make him look at something you point out, he doesn't speak, you can't communicate at all, trying to teach him to do even the most basic things, even just to use a toy how its supposed to be used is almost impossible. So I'm constantly looking for ideas to work around his complicated ways like using something he's totally enamored with like bubbles and get him to realize that he had to push the mower if he wanted to see his bubbles. I had the same problem as most others, you have to get the speed of it just right if you want to get any bubbles at all (and that's still not much)or else most of the bubbles just pop before they make it out. I have done so much reading about all the different bubble products out there and had determined that the reviews were unanimous, Gazillion Bubbles was apparently the best solution out there so I bought the cheapest size per oz at the time, the 64oz. for refills. I dumped the crap that fisher price sent and replaced it with Gazillion and BAM... we were bubblelin all over the yard! The kids had a blast. The Gazillion Bubbles isn't that expensive, same price range as all of the ones on amazon, cheaper than many of them and it really makes a HUGE difference. Hope this helps someone.

very fun toy for my 18 month old boy! love this toy
by LookingForQ (5 out of 5 stars)

its true what the other reviewers said in that you have to get the Gazillion Bubbles brand for it to actually dispense bubbles. just dump out the bubble solution you get with the mower since it doesn't really work. Gazillion bubbles makes a ton of bubbles with this toy. my 18 month old boy LOVES this mower! it makes a fun motor like sound when you push it. the only problem this toy has it that it causes drama in the playground since kids of all ages want to push it. but its fun to watch my little boy run around the playground making bubbles and the kids running behind trying to catch the bubbles. so happy to have found this!

dont tilt the toy since the toy all the way over on its side because the solution will spill out. and my little boy figured out you sometimes have to bounce the mower up and down by the handle to get the bubbles going again but that hardly ever happens.

give it try. its super super FUN!

So much fun for children!

We had one of these for our first son until it was run over in our driveway! I knew how much my first son loved his, so I had a feeling our 3 year old would like it, too. I forgot just how easy it was to assemble, which is great for me since I have a hard time following directions. You just attach the handlebar and it is ready for play. The bubbles are optional and definitely a bonus. Since it is getting colder, my son pushes the lawn mower around the house, but when it is nice out, we've added the bubbles and had them come out without issue. I did notice that in order for the bubbles to start coming out, you have to push pretty fast. Once you get some speed going, they come out like crazy and the kids get so excited! They also like the engine sound when pushing, so it seems just like the one their Papa uses. This is a fun toy for kids and affordable, too. It should last quite a while as long as no one leaves it behind a car!

Update: 4/14/2013

I am not purchasing our 3rd lawnmower. My youngest loves this bubble lawnmower with or without the bubbles. He loves pushing it around in the grass, pretending to mow the lawn just like his Papa. The last one did not break. Rather, it was lost in a move, which is the only reason I am purchasing a new one. This is a great toy and it continues to entertain all these years later. Plus, it's just so cute to watch the kids push the lawnmower around. The price on Amazon is the cheapest I have seen so far, too!

Doesn't work; creates a big mess
by Eki (1 out of 5 stars)
May 7, 2014

I got this for my 2.5 year old niece...and it quickly turned into a sticky nightmare for everyone! First of all, the bubbles don't come out unless you press down on the wheels at a certain angle. It was hard for us full grown adults to be able to do it; there is no way a child is going to have the patience or strength to get the bubbles out.

Secondly, that bottle of soapy liquid spilled all over the floor, and was almost empty within the first 15 min that my niece ran around pushing it! By the time we realized it was leaking, there were gross sticky trails all over!

Don't buy it unless the company figures out a better mechanism for the bubbles and redesigns the whole thing. I felt terrible about showing up with such a crappy present for my niece; who I barely get it see. What a shame; I really expected better from Fisher-Price.

Mower handle is too short, bubble component doesn't work
by Patrick Goetz (2 out of 5 stars)
March 28, 2013

I gave this product 2 stars because
1) it is a toy push mower, as advertised, and can be used as such
2) the construction is relatively durable

The biggest problem is that the size of the mower seems to be too small for the intended audience. It's listed as being for ages 2-5. Really? I bought this mower for my son when he was about 22 months old, and he already had to bend down to grab the handle; now that he's 3.5 he completely ignores it -- it's just too small. Now, admittedly he's on the tall side, but not exceptionally so. My daughter is currently 22 months old and the mower is just about the right size for her. As other reviewers have mentioned, the bubble accessory doesn't really work and is frankly a huge annoyance because the kids see it and expect/want it to work. A more minor concern is that the noise maker makes it a little hard to push; this should be an easy adjustment and perhaps was by design made so. However, it makes it hard of the kids to push the mower through the grass.

If the manufacturer would make the handle height of the mower adjustable (as they are on real mowers), made it a little easier to push, and simply remove the non-functional bubbler, feature this mower could easily go from a 2-star to a 5-star rating.

Great for outdoor fun. Easy to use.

This is a great product. My toddler loves it. We have had it for over a yer, it has been through a lot of."mowing" and banging around, and it still makes noises and blows bubbles. The bubbles will spill and it can get sticky but a quick rinse with the hose will fix that. I have found that most size bubbles will fit in it as we have lost the original bottle. It makes a lot of bubbles and after you prime it toddlers can use it themselves without much assistance.

Son loves it but comes with a flaw.
by Wrek (3 out of 5 stars)
October 19, 2015

My son takes this thing everywhere. We bought this when it was a little cold outside so he was pushing this around everywhere in the house...which was a problem... its loud and annoying. Luckily for us the weatehr warmed up and we got it outside. He loves taking this all over the grass.

The only con I have for this product is how the bubbles go in and the top is suppose to stay on. The top isn't tightened, instead its just placed on the top. So when he goes over bumps or is a little rough with it... it just flops off, and with the string attaching the top, its underneath the mower and but bubble soap leaks out. So I have streaks of soap in my garage which I have to clean up and I have to constantly fill it.

Awesome

For $9.99 and prime shipping, you can't really complain about much.

Pro's
-Solid construction.
-Easy assembly(only thing I had to do was attach the handle bar).
-Comes with bubbles.
-No batteries required.
-The sound it makes it pretty cool.

Neg-
-If your kid tips toys and most do, then the soap from the bubbles leaks out the front.
-It's actually quite hard to push, especially on hard surfaces;ie-tile, wood ect(The wheels just slide). It works fine on carpet.
-The bubble solution runs out really fast, but the stuff is cheap. Other brand bottles will fit on their, just take the original cap with you to the store and test it on other brands. If the original cap fits, the bottle will.

Overall it's great, my son loves it(19 months old). He runs around yelling and pushing it, following me as I vacuum and as stated in earlier for 10 bucks and prime shipping, you can't beat the fun he has.

A great toddler push toy
by KD (4 out of 5 stars)
November 30, 2013

My son absolutely loves this lawnmower.

Pros:
- It makes a sound as you push it that is gratifying to him but isn't annoying to be around.
- There are no batteries or fake sounds, which I really like.
- It works well both on grass and on cement.

The three reasons why I didn't give this 5 stars are/Cons:
- the bubble container sits upside down which was horribly confusing to my 2 year old who kept flipping it 'upright'
- you have to push it really fast to get the bubbles to come out which is especially difficult on cement since the plastic wheels slip a bit
- the soap pours out if you tip it which is pretty common for a 2 year old to do.

I would suggest that Fisher-Price make a close-able chamber for the soap and make the bubbles come out at a normal toddler pace instead of a jog.

My Son Loves to 'Mow' with his Bubble Mower
by DFC RI (4 out of 5 stars)
January 17, 2014

My son (starting at around age 18 mos) loves this mower. He already loved bubbles, and this made making bubbles that much more fun. He happily pushes the mower all over the yard and driveway, stopping occasionally to pop the bubbles.

The mower seems well made and makes a grinding sound almost like a motor running as it is pushed.

Loses one star for the following reasons:
-Included bubble container doesn't hold a lot of bubble soap, so it needs to be refilled regularly during play.
-Unless all four wheels are on the ground and turning, the mower doesn't make very many good bubbles. This is difficult on a lawn that isn't perfectly flat. It would be nice if only one or two wheels had to be engaged to make nice bubbles.
