cheap; works great; handy when not near shredderby S. L. (3 out of 5 stars)

I would give this 3.5 stars because it is cheap. It is effective and I will buy it again. I would give it 4 to 4.5 stars for what it does or what you can do with it.
So don't get me wrong, do buy it and leave it in your car or on your desk.
Mine came in black handles, not red as in the picture.
It is kind of loose. I tightened the three screws, but didn't help much. Feels cheap.
The shredder is all steel with plastic covered handles.
The imperfectly aligned and imperfectly looking blades cut five strait lines.
Cross cut and you get tiny squares (1/3cm or 1/8in) which are actually better than what you get from a typical cross cut shredder.
People who are careful will be able to get perfect square cross-cuts. People who are not good with their hands will often get blade paper jams. So don't complain about jams, its a manual shredder.

I just got my order for another set.
This one is tighter.
Both are working great still.

This is great for shredding small amounts (like your name and apt number so your anal and nosy landlord won't put unauthorized trash back on your doorstep).
The upkeep is pretty easy and kinda fun. Paper doesn't really get stuck between the blades (like with regular shredders) but it does spray a little, depending on the paper stock and how you cut. The only other slight annoyance is that items with a lot of static cling are difficult to throw away after shredding...as in they won't come off your hand and into the wastebasket.
As for the complaint that it doesn't shred credit cards easily, let me ask: How easily do regular scissors cut credit cards? These aren't super shears, people. If you need to shred a lot of credit cards, use a bigger shredder. This is for smaller jobs so choose the instrument that best suits your needs.

These scissors are horrible, in my opinion of course. The scissors are heavy, stiff & clunky, but cheaply made. They can't even get through thin cardboard without twisting & the shredded pieces get stuck in the spaces of the scissors. To use them just for a few sheets of paper at a time might work well if you don't mind the weight of using them!! This, of course, is solely the opinions of me & my husband!
Hate clogged shredders!

I have had 2 electric shredders for personal papers. Both jam frequently and irritate me. Most of the personal papers just have one small place of ID Numbers that need to be shredded. These scissors are perfect for just grabbing and cutting that small area to protect private information and then just toss the rest for recycling. No need to go to a finicky electric machine and shred the whole page.
Great on paper, poor on credit cards

The construction seems solid. It handles as easily as a normal scissors. Now, if I cut up documents in which only my name and address are the security 'issue' (like pre-filled credit card offers), I don't have to fire up my full page shredder.
UPDATE: It does NOT cut credit cards.
It's ok ...

The scissors does its job, it shreds but it sure makes a big mess when all the pieces fly everywhere. I also have to cut the paper a few times to avoid being able to read the text on it.
But at least I don't have to worry about it overheating or causing noise pollution like my old shredder.
Nothing easy about it...

As others have mentioned, item shipped was different than what was pictured (blades are at an angle to the gripping handles, not straight as with a standard pair of scissors). They are thoroughly ineffective; the blades jam with paper shreds, so you can not continue cutting across an item; the most I've managed is one or two shred cuts around the edges.
Thoroughly disappointed. Not at all worth the money or wait...
Not for me.

These are clunky, heavy and exhausting to use. As well, its almost impossible to cut very much before you feel it in your hand. A waste for me.

The sissors work really well for smaller papers & receipts. Now, instead of collecting papers & shredding them later with the large machine, I can get them shredded & out of my way. The only problem was that I received a double shipment. They weren't that expensive ,so I didn't send them back. One thing I would improve upon is their packaging. The white boxes were all mashed by the time I got it.

great idea - poor execution. scissors get clogged immediately with only one sheet of paper. haven't used them since first couple attempts. don't recommend.
