great item but with some things to consider before you buy

overall, it's a great product but with some things to consider before you buy. i just bought this booster in green (love the color) a few weeks ago for our 23 month old son to use both locally when our tot goes to the grandparents and especially for our travels out of the country since i was unsure whether they'll have high chairs in some of the places we'll be visiting. we've also been getting a lot of attention and questions about this product during our travels as many people have never seen this before.

pro's:
-versatile fit. worked for every chair we've put it on quite well without any instability.
-we liked the height options as it fitted different chair-to-table height ratio. the two height options are helpful as it can grow with the child, but we also noticed every chair-to-table height ratio was different for different restaurants we dined at so it was helpful to have the two options to choose from.
-the size of the kaboost is smaller than a typical booster chair so it's easier to travel with. we threw it in our luggage and it fitted well along with the rest of our stuff.

con's:
-although it was great to give more autonomy for a tot that wants to sit independently with this booster, but it doesn't secure your child into the seat like some boosters do. however if you have a tot that can calmly stay in their chair or just an older child that still needs the extra boost, i can see how this booster would be a great fit. this booster only adds some extra height to a chair and doesn't do any securing or harnessing. my tot is quite adventurous and curious about his surrounding, so it was quite stressful eating without a harness to keep him in his seat as he kept wondering on and off his chair in this booster when we dined. we have a travel highchair ("my little seat travel high chair" on amazon) that may be a good fit to solve this issue. but then again, if you have a tot like mine that's fighting for his independence and wanting to explore every opportunity he can get his hands on, most booster options may not work and it's a matter of toughing this one season out.
-although it's only 3.5 pounds, it is a bulky item and i felt every pound in those 3.5 pounds. it's pretty big and it'd be great if they can make them smaller and lighter (and do so without compromising any quality or stability) so it's easier to transport. the legs swing around loosely if you don't secure them which can make it more difficult to transport and requires a bag to make it easier to carry if you already got a handful.
-the installation and removal process requires both your hands. i tried to step on a kaboost leg to help remove the kaboost a few times while holding onto my child and it just didn't come off as it squeezed onto the chair legs pretty tightly (which is a good thing also). we've used this throughout our travels where we were in/out of restaurants 2-3 times a day and with an active tot, it's a juggling act.

This thing is awesome

LOVE this I bought three for the kids but I'm buying another one because I'm short and I love the height. The pictures show one without, one with the tallest height adjustment and the other with the shorter height adjustment (doesn't seem like too much a difference but there is)

😡☹️Three stitches on Christmas Eve!!!!
by Lionkeeper (1 out of 5 stars)

We bought this booster for our three year old to use at the kitchen table. It seemed a great idea and it does have roundish corners so we considered it safe.

We also have a 1 year old who just started walking. Today she accidentally tripped and hit her face right on the corner of this booster and ended up with a 1/2 inch deep wound above her eyebrow.

When we saw the blood running down her face we rushed her to the ER and it turned out she has a deep cut and needed 3 stiches.

It was aweful to watch her suffer. I won't go into details but the proceedure BREAKS MY HEART.

The corners on this booster are NOT sharpe, and the standard furniture corner cushions (which we have all over the house) won't fit them because they are not standard 90 degree corners.

In fact I'm not sure adding cushions will solve the problem, because this booster is so close to the ground, if a child falls and hit the corners it's a lot of weight and momentum and THEY WILL GET HURT.

PLEASE. Stop selling this product until safety improvements are made!!

Skeptical at first...SO glad I took the chance!

Ok, I was skeptical at first. I really was! I looked at this product and compared it to another booster seat I had also seen on Amazon to use for my 2.5 year old. I was thinking.. "This can't be safe...won't it make the chair unstable?" So, I 1: Looked at ratings... and 2: Looked at the AMOUNT of ratings (which were, at the time, above 2k!). seeing that this had better reviews than the best reviewed booster seat.. I decided to take a chance and try this out. I am SO GLAD I did!! This product is SO COOL. It lifts the chair AND it's stable! When it first arrived, I installed it on one of our dining chairs myself (5'3" tall woman) easily. It's got stickyish rubber feet at the bottom (but you could cover them with the felt furniture feet covers if you wanted it more "slidy") and it firmly "hugs" the feet of the chair itself.. actually extending the base of the chair..which is what makes it so sturdy, and leff likely to topple over... I mean you would REALLY have to push to get the chair to fall with this thing on. But enough about the saftey... My son ABSOLUTELY loves being able to sit in a "big boy" chair to eat dinner at the table with Mom and Dad. Now if only he would stop jabbing the table top with his fork...

Toddler and mommy BOTH love the Kaboost!
by Lyndsey (5 out of 5 stars)

I LOVE the Kaboost Booster. My daughter is almost 2 and was starting to protest her highchair, and eating in general. We decided it was time to treat her to a big girl chair and hope that making her feel more "like mommy and daddy" at the table would help her want to eat more and be more excited for meals. I didn't want just a booster for her, because that's still something she has to be tied into. I was afraid she'd still hate to be buckled and protest or give up on eating sooner than being full because she was uncomfortable. The Kaboost allows her to sit in a big girl chair, in the ACTUAL chair. She LOVES it and our theory worked. Now she's excited about dinner and sitting in "a mommy chair" with us both. She has more freedom to move around in a real chair and is much more relaxed and takes her time eating and her appetite is back in action.

Also good to note: We have antique chairs that we refurbished. The feet are rounded and are wide set compared to the chairs you buy these days. But the product still fit on it perfectly and securely. It's incredibly non-slip.

It's not just for babies, I guess!

My home office is the kitchen counter. I like it there because I can see my backyard and I have lots of room to spread out all my marketing activities. But. My barstools are just too short for my 5' 3" self. My shoulders would hunch while typing on my laptop and I'd end up sitting on the couch before the day is over. I tried sitting on chair cushions and pillows and nothing was comfortable for long periods. Off I went to Amazon to find a solution. Kaboost gave me the idea to raise the legs and not the seat. Eureka! It works great! I use the short side and it lifts me the perfect amount so my shoulders are relaxed. I still have several inches between the counter and my legs. Bonus: When my grandkids come it will help them reach the counter better for snacks and play-doh fun! I just may buy another one so I have it on 2 chairs. What I wish I'd known: 1) It took 2 people to put it together. No big deal, but my husband held the chair while I sat on the floor and spread the arms out so it would fit. 2) It doesn't easily slide on my tile floor -- which is probably a good thing, but I have to carefully position it and then get on the chair. I'm afraid if I scoot it while sitting in it, the Kaboost will pop off (it might not). That's it. I'm so excited, I wrote one of my first ever reviews in a very long time on Amazon.

Must have product!

This is one of my favorite products for kids. We have not just one, but two of these- one for my 4 year old and one for my 2 year old. Can't say enough good things. This booster does its job of getting your child up to the table at the right height. But importantly it allows them to get up and down on their own safely . Since you are just using your regular chair it is easy to wipe up any spills or crumbs that might get stuck in crevices of a booster seat. You don't have to worry about a booster damaging your chairs or falling off as your child wiggles around or climbs in and out. Plus the chair still functions for most adults- just raised up a bit. The chair tucks under the table completely with the booster in place so you don't have a chair that sticks out. Two height settings allow you to pick the height that works best for you child. I was surprised at how stable the chairs feel using this booster. This is a product that you will use for years because kids love how it puts them at the right level. My son is a little over 41 inches tall at 4 and I see us using the booster for another year or so with him. The only thing I didn't care for was the non-skid rubber bottom. Good for floors, but it made it difficult to push the chair around on the floor. We added 8 round felt pads (2 on each leg) and this solved the problem completely. Our first kaboost booster was purchased second hand and we have personally been using it for 2+ years. It has held up even with adults using the chair occasionally. No complaints about quality or longevity of the product.

Special note for any adults using this booster- with our table nearly all adults sitting on the chair with the booster would need to have the chair pulled back from the table a bit to make room for their legs. Not enough space between the seat of the chair and the support for the table top. Between 3 and 4 inches apart with our table and chairs depending on the height setting you choose for the booster. Make sure to measure your table if you intend to use it this way.

Update: my kids are 6 and 4 and on the tall side, but still prefer to use this booster so they sit up a little higher. It puts them at a more natural height at the table without making it seem like hey are using a baby product. I didn't expect to get so many years of use out of this, but I'm so happy I bought it.

Great alternative to a booster seat!
by J. R. Juart (5 out of 5 stars)

This is a great and well-conceived contraption. Everyone that comes to our home is intrigued and fascinated by it (especially when they see my 2-year-old climb up on his chair and sit right up to the table). We settled on this as opposed to a traditional booster seat for a few reasons. After using a booster at my mother's and the Kaboost at home, here is my take:

PROS

No messing with straps/inserts or placement

Easier to clean a chair than a booster

No sliding around

No damage to the seat of our chairs

Easier for my son to get in his seat by himself (more independence)

My son prefers it because it makes him feel more grown-up

CONS

It's a little tedious to "uninstall" from the chair to take places or move to a different chair or room

It doesn't fit EVERY kind of chair (works great for our dining room chairs, but not so much on our folding bar stools)

Child can't sit against the back rest

No strap to secure child (my seats are very wide and my son loves to eat, so this hasn't been a huge issue, but a strap would help with the "squirm".

I did purchase a universal strap to try, but our seats are too wide to put around the base, and putting it around the back doesn't work because our son needs to sit forward on the chair.

All-in-all, I love this and am so glad we chose it vs. a booster seat. The only improvement I would make to the device is slightly longer "sleeves" as our chair legs are pretty widely spaced and we're maxing out the length of the legs.

Every parent of a toddler should have this

Was looking for a cushion seat booster for my almost 5 yr old who is on the small side, and just needs a slight boost at the kitchen counter and kitchen table when doing schoolwork/crafts. I almost ordered the foam/stump type, but then saw Kaboost and realized this was the exact solution I needed. It was as easy as the video looks to put on the bottom of the chair. We tried it on our barstool, and kitchen chair. My son was excited, he thought it was cool and felt more like a "big boy". Because it boosted him up a little, He is 'over' the counter/table more and can write/draw, and eat easier. We're now using it under his desk chair at his new desk (excuse the mess, getting this area set up) It's very stable, doesn't wobble - we will most likely get another one soon. I really like the fact that it has 2 height levels (just flip over for a shorter/longer boost). I only wish we knew about this for my first child - every parent of a young one should get this!

I recommend that the Kaboost be marketed for those with physical ...
by Dr. Mario (5 out of 5 stars)

I did not order the Kaboost for a child. I am a physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and wanted to see how I can use it with patients who have difficulty getting to standing from a chair and could use the Kaboost to raise their chair and make getting up easier and safer. I had some difficulty setting it up, but once I figured it out, I found it to have a solid foundation and it was very effective. I have it in my office to show patients. They can take it with them to use when not in their home. I recommend that the Kaboost be marketed for those with physical disabilities that have difficulty getting up from low surfaces. It may need a name change that better describes it use in adults.
