Not quite invincible...by Ike (5 out of 5 stars)

I dug through my order history for this specific ball to replace my dog's favorite red ball which he finally tore apart. You can imagine how surprised I was to find I ordered it in February 2013! My 75 lb dog destroys a tennis ball in minutes, and this ball has been chewed on by my dog for 4 years! We've played catch with this ball more times than I could ever count, and aside from having popped the plug out within the first week, it has been durable beyond my wildest dreams. The way that this ball can deflate and re-inflate a seemingly infinite number of times without lasting deformation is pretty amazing. Eventually the small hole got larger as he learned to chew at the only irregularity, and the puncture became a tear over 4% of a century.
The best part is that finding this order reminded me for the first time that they came in a 2 pack, and after tearing the house apart we found the practically new blue version smooshed into a rainboot in the closet. We live in Texas, so we don't use those too much. Here's hoping this ball lasts just as long!
The worst part is that this company must really struggle with the fact that they only get repeat customers once a decade
Amuses adults, who knows about kids?

I'll start by saying I'm 26 going on 11. I purchased this for reasons that escape any reasonable explanation. However, I will say that great amusement comes from bouncing these balls. Bring them to a party and my friends (who who claim to be more mature than myself) love to throw them as well. Maybe its the booze, who knows, I haven't the slightest idea. Helium, in a ball! Genius! Thank you Maui Toys, without that kind of inspiration I'd have to play with my adult toys like my Kindle. I would admit it is pretty pricey for a rubber ball... maybe its a rich kid's toy, or a drunk adult.
If you are considering purchasing the Jumbo, I would strongly recommend against it. It doesn't bounce as high and s totally unimpressive.
Update: 12/29/11 - I'm now 27 and still thoroughly enjoy this product.
Best dog toy EVER

A family friend gave our dogs a Skyball a while ago, and I had to go online searching for it... thank goodness I noted the name of the toy before the logo wore off it, otherwise I don't think my dog would ever forgive me.
One of my dogs has gone completely OCD over this toy. I have never seen him obsessed with something like this. Usually, he is excited to get a new toy and then it ends up in a dusty corner a few days later. He has been obsessed with this ball for over a month. It's freaky how he thinks about it all the time. We have to leave it outside, otherwise he will obsess over it to the point where he won't leave it to eat (and he is a pig.) He has actually begged me in the middle of the night to go outside, only to find out he doesn't have to go to the bathroom, he just wanted to see his ball. He is reluctant to go for a walk and leave the ball behind.
The thing about this ball is that it is the perfect size to be just slightly difficult for the dog (a Lab mix) to grab. So when he goes running after it, and tries to grab it, it usually bounces away from his grasp. Plus is it quite bouncy, even on grass. So it is a very "wiley" ball indeed. This excites some primitive, prey-chasing nugget in his brain to a high pitch.
My lazy, slightly fat dog has lost weight and is now in great shape because of this ball. I am quite certain that he would chase this ball until he dropped dead, if I didn't stop him.
I had no idea it wasn't designed specifically for a dog. I'll be stocking up on them.
EDITED TO ADD: It's now been over two months and the original ball is, amazingly, still holding up. The little plug fell out so it lost its helium but it is still quite bouncy and pops back into shape by itself after being chewed on. The dog is still crazy about it and will chase it until he's worn out. This makes for a tired, calm, fit dog. This ball is worth its weight in gold to us!
EDITED TO ADD: A year later, and my dogs is STILL crazy for this ball! The original developed a crack stemming from the little hole where the plug fell out, so I bought him a couple more. Still, he prefers the original. The other odd thing is that these Maui balls seem to come in two different 'weights'. If you look at them in the store (they are available in the toy section at Target also), some of them have a sort of speckled texture, and the plastic is not as thick. My dog didn't care for those as much and perhaps "accidentally" left one behind in the woods. Other versions are smooth and thicker with a more rubbery feel. It's hard to tell online which you are getting.
SUPER HIGH BOUNCE!!!!

We found one of these at Target (there were no more left), and we wanted more. The helium inside the ball really makes for a SUPER high bounce. This is not a gimmick. Everyone will notice the difference between this and other balls. Plus, the outer skin is quite durable and doesn't pop easily like many other balls. Buy it, it's super fun, and a conversation piece as well as educational tool to teach your kids about the properties of helium. HAVE FUN!!

for physical therapy. I could not find this size in the stores. I figured the 2 pack would give me an extra ball if I damaged one. When the box arrived, I had my daughter for the weekend. One ball was blue and the other was pink. I lost the pink one immedietly. She has played with the pink one, the dog (a pit bull) has tried to chew both of them, and I used the blue one regurlarly for over a year now. Both balls look brand new and still bounce very high.
Not the original

My son had an original skyball that our dog confiscated for his own and it lasted for almost a year. The dog is a professional chewer and all (and I mean ALL) dog toys will not last a day, so I was surprised to see that he was unable to break though the skyball. I bought these hoping they were the same. They were not. The dog had both in pieces by the end of the week. I know it is not meant to be a dog toy but it definitely is not the same quality as my son's original.

Got this for my grown sons who are deployed. They and their buddies had a great time checking this out. They said it bounced 40-50 feet in the air fairly easily.
Not as bouncy as promised

I bought my first sky ball from Sports Authority - kids were very impressed. So I ordered two more from amazon. Unfortunately they do not bounce as high, they are not very different from other bouncy balls you can purchase from Wal-mart of $2. The highest I can get is 3-stories high. The surface loses its luster and the balls quickly became just another ball in the kids' pile of balls.
Get this -- not the knock off

Never heard of these before my son put them on his Christmas list. Thought maybe the notion was a little gimmicky and checked out some of the look-a-likes available at different stores. Went ahead and ordered the real deal and glad I did. Much better bounce performance than the off-brands -- be ready to chase them because they really do have impressive height and distance. A big hit.

Got these for my 4 year old granddaughter months ago. She's still playing with them and having a blast.
