Increases your reps by 2x-3xby M. Lu (5 out of 5 stars)

This thing is simple and effective. It is a tube that connects to your basket and uses gravity to roll the ball back to you. You could probably build it, but it might be easier to buy it depending on how much time/money you have.
If you are making around 80% of your shots, this increases your shots per minute by about 2-3x depending on how far away you are from the basket. If you are making less than 80%, you are shooting from too far away. Even Dwight and Shaq make 80% of their free throw in practice and they don't have what you would call great form. Move close and make sure your form is consistent.
Pros:
It returns made shots.
Inexpensive
Less cumbersome and restrictive that the rebounding nets.
You can leave it on the rim. It doesn't get in the way for games.
Cons (even though the pros still far outweight them):
Only returns made shots
Comes in 8 pieces. Takes about an hour to screw everything together.
The clips that hang this on the rim pop off every once in a while.
Sometimes, it gradually shifts direction as you shoot. It's not a big deal, you just have to recenter it.
Young bucs, before you practice too much, I recommend watching some youtube videos on shooting form. For every bad shot you take, it becomes that much harder to correct your form. Periodically take video of yourself shooting and watch it in slow mo. Make sure you are releasing from finger tips and the ball is rotating back towards you. Correct bad habits immediately.
Breaks if used outdoors

If you use it indoors only I bet it would last. Outdoors it falls apart from the sun/elements. The clips break first, the the straps break...I repaired it 3 or 4 times to keep it out of a landfill but that's where it ended up after a couple years of use.
Grandsons Love It!

Bought this for my grandsons for Christmas. They love it. They have another kind that just drops the ball in one direction, but with this they will be able to set it to drop the ball in the direction they are standing. This is great if they are practicing shooting from one position....it keeps them from having to chase the ball all the time.
Its a nice little gizmo

Its a nice little gizmo. It slowly rotates to the left 30 degrees which requires me to spin back to center every now and then. Other than that no problems. Made of cheap plastic but should hold up for a few years. I live in southern California so the temperature range is narrow. I believe tapping over the clips that attach to the rim will protect the clips from breaking.
Doesn't work....now I can't return it???

Does not work properly. Takes ALOT of effort to make the ball return swivel in order to practice. Now it is showing I cannot return the item...it has only been about 30 days? I don't agree with that....can you change that so I can return this?
Plastic clips break
by Review Doc. (2 out of 5 stars)

Good product but the plastic clips that hold the return system to the rim break, they should be metal or reinforced. Also the system needs to be stiffer so it doesn't swivel after shots on its on. A lot of shots end of rattling out of the basket the opening of the unit should be larger to accommodate the ball going in.
Does What It Claims

We have had this for about 3 weeks now so while I cannot comment on how well it holds up at this point, I can tell you that it is much better than any of the other ball returns we tried, it was easy to assemble and install and it directs the ball fairly well. Sometimes it will turn without you wanting it to and you have to adjust it but overall we were satisfied with it.
Better plastic and an extra $10 I'd buy it again

We have had this less than a year and it broke gradually. Each of the snaps broke one at a time over 3 months. Also this thing is prone to rotating on its own. Basically it was subpar plastic. Better plastic and an extra $10 I'd buy it again...but am in market for a better one this year. Hoping to find one at a local shop since I don't see much choice here on Amazon. Avoid.
Great product!!

This is a really nice add on to my hoop. its made of very durable plastic that will be bolted together. i love the swivel feature but during a game it tended to swivel around a little bit. also it hangs low, so if you have lengthy arms like me, expect some battered knuckles if you like to swat at the ball. overall great return.
Skills shoot around

Excellent piece of equipment. I have had other ball returners that didn't work right the ball would always get stuck in them unless you made it go through the rim just right. This one is a lot better as long as it goes through the rim the ball will come back to you. If your thinking about getting a ball returner this is the one.
