New and Old version and stability reviewby HS 11 (4 out of 5 stars)

Photo and description I ordered from are not accurate from what I received.
There are no soft foot pads in the foot wells as described, However the photo showing none is correct
There are 2 drain holes, not 4 as shown in photo.
There is a handle on the front but not the back. Photo I purchased from had no handle on either end
Be aware of the minor difference of this one and the newer model with front and back carry handles and soft foot pads.
I was very happy with the price I paid, and the differences were not that important to me.
This SUP is very stable I went on a 2 mile trip for the first time on any SUP. I never fell or felt it to be unstable.
I did research utube to see how to SUP and recommend every one do the same.Learn how to get on and properly stand up,
and paddle technique.I also recommend starting on smooth flat water with no wind.
I am 67 and 175lbs and windsurf for many years I find this is a pure simple fast way to get on the water with out all
the expensive gear needed with windsurfing.
Fun, functional, and stable.

I own three kayaks and this is by far my favorite. A seat can be attached if you want support. You can sit, kneel, or stand. It is very stable (my dog sometimes rides in the front and even with his movements it doesn't tip over. The cargo net on the back is sufficient for holding a few items. You can purchase scupper plugs if you want to stay completely dry while seated. It is light enough that I can put it on top of my SUV by myself.
Very stable. Backrest is a must for sit-down kayaking.

I have no problem standing on this. If you ever plan to use this as a sit-down kayak, get a backrest. I have three Kayak: Perception Swifty for cold weather, Ocean Kayak Mysto for rough water play, and Nalu for relatively calm water. With the Mysto, I can paddle without a seat comfortably. Not so on the Nalu. The Nalu, with the Ocean Kayak Comfort Backrest, and the Carlisle Taboo paddle, is now my favorite all-around kayak. It's also the fastest of the three kayaks that I own.
Great for SUP beginners

Good quality. I was able to get up on 1st try - had no problem, even though I had never used a SUP before. Have yet to fall. My daughters also did very well and didn't have any problems. My 84 year Dad wasn't as lucky, but he did enjoy using it as a kayak. Fairly easy to haul short distances.
Tracks good. Easy to carry

Tracks good. Easy to carry. Uncomfortable when sitting even with seat attached. Your knees are in the air. Doesn't feel as stable as I had hoped while standing, but I have only used it once.
Better Than Expected

After years with canoes and kayaks this was a first experience with a SUP. After standing and paddling for some time you can sit and paddle. It would be a good idea to get an adjustable standup paddle for this vessel so that you can alternate between standing and sitting while on the water. Or you can just choke up on the long paddle. Because of the tie down cord one can secure extra gear and the paddle extension. To be more comfortable when siting you can purchase a kayak seat that can be attached to the loops on the board. It all depends on how much back support you require.

So versatile! Tracks straight and is light enough that I can load/unload onto my honda pilot by myself.
SUP evolution

Seems like SUP evolved from being a way to get onto waves to just riding on flat water on rivers and lakes. If you plan to SUP in rivers and lakes and not in waves, I think the Nalu is the way to go. I have tried regular SUP boards and the Nalu feels much faster and stable. Also it is probably more durable than regular SUP boards. I got the back rest and usually have my daughter ride there while I SUP. I bet the Nalu design will become more popular among inland SUP riders.

we love it. it's a bit heavy but works well as a kayak and as a stand up paddleboard. would love to hear how people transport it on a car safely though. it's pretty heavy so it threatens to slide off my kayak rack once the wind gets a hold of it.
