purchased Dec. 2014 for then 6 year old grandson. not high on his list of favorite interests, fast forward to spring 2016, wow, his friends and he can't get enough of it! the symphonies, sonatas, jazz pieces are being turned out regularly.
Excellent for music and exercise

I bought this for me, sort of. I wasn't too surprised when my five-year-old son took it over. I still get to use it, as long as I play songs that he knows. Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star is SUCH a workout.
Don't do it. Buy something better.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. This is a good concept however the design is very poorly executed. The box that the mat was shipped in was extremely beat-up. The only thing that was keeping the mat inside the box was the tape that I'm assuming the distributer added before shipping it to me. The only spot on the mat that worked properly was the hi-hat cymbal. everything else either had the wrong drum sound or did not work at all. The mat is made of what I can only describe as cheap plastic tarp material. Striking the plastic mat with the supplied sticks is so loud that the drum sound is covered up and inaudible. It would work better if the mat was was made of a heavier vinyl or rubber material with the sensors embedded into the mat. I know this would increase cost but only until the manufacturing process is perfected. Also, the control box and headphone/mic jack is of very cheap quality and only works about 30% of the time.
Too bad it's in concert pitch!

Got this item for the music studio...kids (and adults) think it's cool and enjoy playing on it.
Like its volume control, the 8 different instrument choices, and its light weight.
Gave it 4 stars because the piano keys are actually a whole tone lower...so the middle C sounds like the B flat
Grandkids (aged 18 month and 3yrs) love this thing and use it nearly every day

Grandkids (aged 18 month and 3yrs) love this thing and use it nearly every day. Speaker on one side quit working after a week but Amazon return policy is great and have returned it and will buy same model again. The surface is slick so beware. Kids don't mind but adults might. Seems sturdy enough for the kids and is big enough to be a real workout for adults if you are actually playing songs. Usability of selecting various modes could be better but the point of the thing is playing music- not fiddling buttons so not much of an issue.
The young ones run up and down it and it has held up beautifully! This fall

So far, this giant mat has thrilled my grandchildren and my piano students. The young ones run up and down it and it has held up beautifully! This fall, I'll use it for teaching intervals and scales just as a fun bonus.

I purchased as a gift for a little boy's birthday of a colleague and his sister and they loved it. The parents had to set times at night for the playing to end but, they also sleep very well after playing on it.

What fun! I got this gift for my 2 little great nieces for Christmas, they opened it on Christmas Eve and everyone had a blast, even the adults were playing on it. Every time I talk to my nephew he says it was the girls favorite Christmas present and they are on it every day. Not only are they having fun, but they are getting exercise and learning to play the piano at the same time. What a great gift!
Kids loved it.

Grandkids opened this up this morning and are still playing with it. Great for little ones to connect sound to body movement.
Great product, but without a songbook it is just OK.

This IS a great product but without a song/music book for new learners, it is JUST OK.
My grandson is 8 and wants to learn an instrument, which his folks cannot afford right now.
I was surprised & disappointed to learn there was no music book. To his credit he taught himself "Twinkle,
Twinkle Little Star". My daughter plans to borrow some beginner piano books from a relative. Other than
this, they are very pleased with the piano mat.
