Worthless junk

I bought these over a year ago, and they have worked great. After over a year of daily use they have started to crack where the tether attaches to the glass. I purchased a new set that are made of a much softer material, fit loosely on the dishwasher splines, and do not stay attached to the wine glass stems. This morning after opening the dishwasher, there was a strong chemical smell emanating from inside. I noticed a couple tethers had come loose from the glasses, were now in the bottom of the dishwasher and melted against the element. The originals had the logo Quirky on the tethers, and these do not, even though the package they came in has a sticker that says Quirky. Maybe they are knock offs or the material was changed by the manufacturer. But either way they are useless junk.

Looks like I got a cheap rip off. Don't you get taken!

These things can't grip the glass stems -- they're useless.

The set I received do NOT have the "Quirky" label. I didn't read or understand all the reviews when I purchased this order, so I missed the one from Margaret Mitchell (March 2018) showing pictures of a good set vs these cheap rip offs. Many thanks to her for those pics -- I could see immediately what the problem was.

The thing is...

...if I had seen them in a store I would not have bought them. I would have wanted something absolutely rigid (ironically I see some reviewers complaining that these are too rigid) to glue the glass in place. The glass is quite free to move around, but the tether does two things. First, it prevents the glass from just flat-out falling over, although I was able to do that anyway with careful placement of the glass over the tray tines. But more importantly, it drags the glass down, slowing and damping the glass's tendency to fly around under the impact of the water jet. And I have to admit, it really does work. The glasses need to be apart from your other dishes (um, unless they are also secured with something like a Quirky Tether) and they must not be touching each other...but surprisingly, it's okay if they COULD touch each other. In that situation, they may ram into each other at high speed when the water jets hit them if unsecured, but when tethered they can't pick up any speed when the jets jostle them about so they are less likely to bump into one another and if they do, they do so gently.

EXTACTLY What I was Looking For!

These stemware savers are exactly what I needed. My wine glasses are tall and do not fit in the top drawer of my dishwasher. I had to put them on the bottom rack but they kept falling over and banging into each other. I was so lucky to find these. The fit right over the post in the dishwasher and bend easily to grab and firmly hold onto the wine glasses. They stay bent. I leave them in the dishwasher all the time. I usually have a wine glass or 2 to wash anyway. I am VERY VERY happy with this purchase.

Terrible.

Doesn't work at all. My friend has a similar product, but these do not stay put on rungs of dishwasher nor do they hold a glass. Completely useless.

Genius

I am surprised at how well these work! I put my large wine glasses on the bottom rack of the dishwasher, with a little space around them, and anchor them with these tethers. They come out clean and beautiful every time, no breaks!

Works to hold plastic containers, too.

This is our 3rd set of these... we use them to keep plastic storage containers from flipping on the top shelf of the dishwasher. After 5 years the first set broke above the stiff part. Still a good value. Item might be updated since first purchase.

Not perfect, but better than nothing.

As with other reviews, I have had the tether come undone and then I have to search for it in the bottom of the dishwasher. If the wine glass has a larger diameter stem (like my red wine glasses) it doesn't always stay on the stem. But my white wine glasses have a smaller diameter stem, and they do stay on every time and I now have sparkling white wine glasses

These are great

My old dishwasher had a place to put stemmed wine glasses but not in my new washer so I looked on Amazon to find something that would keep the glasses upright and thought I would try these. I'm very impressed with how they work.

Good concept, poor execution in design
by Elizabeth Rettig (1 out of 5 stars)

Did not perform as I had hoped. The tubing does not fit properly with my dishwasher (Maytag Quiet Series 300), the tether does slide far enough down the prong to fit securely, thereby not allowing the tether to curve at an appropriate angle to secure the wine glass. The wine glasses still rattled around.. Good concept, poor execution in design.
