My own Smushie.by JCR, THE KIDS SITU (5 out of 5 stars)

I am retired and take long bus trips. My husband always puts me against the cold window. Love ❤️ the pillow as I was able to put my head comfortably against it and sleep. Very smushy and soft. Like having my own teddy bear.
You can't unsee it!

You can't unsee this shape. And because you can't unsee it, it's quite embarrassing to travel with a large, blue fluffy phallus. Now, that would be okay if it lived up to its hype. It's comfortable for 5 seconds then it starts to slip. You readjust and 5 seconds later, it slips again. Oh the disappointment.
Husband refused to take it out of his carry-on due to its extraordinary shape.
Not worth it. If I could return them I would. Now they are both sitting in Argentina as joke pillows.
Much better than the traditional travel pillow!

Bought this for a 9 hour flight to Hawaii for our Honeymoon. I have used many of the traditional travel pillows in the past and have been on many long flights. This pillow was AWESOME. We had brought another more traditional travel pillow along as well and both took turns with the J-pillow as it was our favorite. It was a little awkward at first to figure out how to get comfortable at first. Once I figured it out, My head and neck were very comfortable and felt much more supported than the traditional shaped travel pillows. I also liked that it supported your jaw as I am totally that person that will end up snoozing with my mouth wide open while traveling! I even used this pillow as my pillow at our super fancy resort as it was so comfortable! The fabric is super soft and the pillow squishes up nicely to fit into your bag without taking up a bunch of room. We had a little running joke about this pillow as it is oddly shaped and was then nicknamed "the wiener pillow"!
Not for me

I bought this for a while 10 hour flight where I was sitting in the aisle seat. This product is not for me. It didn't support my head comfortably and it was annoying to have to adjust it so often. It was large, but stuffing it into my backpack wasn't an issue. By the end I would try to sleep without the pillow half the time and either way my neck would hurt a bit.
*Update* Tried it again, but this time I had the window seat on a 10 hour flight. Still sucks. It just doesn't work. It kinda floats, so in order to put your head on it you have to counter with your shoulders to hold it up.
Odd shaped but comfort was had on 18 hour flight.

This pillow is odd. It provides comfort but the way you put it on odd. It feels awkward and poked me in the eye a few times. Overall I liked it.
Best Travel Pillow

I was skeptical about this travel pillow at first, but I hated the standard neck pillows. They either didn't offer any support and or I felt like I was wearing a neck brace. I bought the Daisy travel pillow at the same time. Initially, I thought the J pillow was awkward - didn't make sense, and seemed like it wouldn't be very supportive or comfortable. The first time I actually used it, was taking a nap in my car, and I slept so well. It supported my head and kept my chin from drooping. I woke up from a car nap feeling refreshed - unheard of!
I have continued to use it since then, and have used it as a passenger in the car and during several long flights (10+ hours). I've used it against the window seat and the middle seat during flights, and it has been supportive and comfortable in both situations. If you're in the middle seat (or aisle), it does support better if you bend the 'head rest' forward so it has something to support it, but even without that the seat does a pretty good job of holding it. In one of my long flights, I was able to sleep for nearly the entire flight, and probably would have if the flight attendants hadn't woken me for food.
It is easy to transport for flights too. The clip is strong and I usually just clip it to the outside of my backpack, which due to it's shape it usually fits against it pretty well.
I can't speak highly enough about the J Pillow. It definitely solves a lot of the problems with the standard neck pillow and let's me sleep comfortably during travel.
The best and the worst of pillows.

I recently purchased 2 of these pillows, one for me and one for my travel companion for a trip around Thailand and China. During the first week of the trip I would have rated it 5 stars. It was PERFECT. Supported my head in almost every position and left me feeling rested after 13 hours on a plane overnight. My friend was equally impressed. However, during the final week of bus traveling and 4 final flights I began to notice that the pillow was no longer supporting my head and it was leaving my neck with painful kinks. Both of our pillows had lost what felt like half of their "fluff". I guess that's the downfall of using a pilllow with stuffing instead of foam, it will inevitably become compacted with use. We've tried washing and drying the pillows to no avail, they're are still too deflated to use. I'll try stuffing more filling in mine when I have a chance, but I feel like the pillows deserve a 2 star rating only because they were amazing for that one week, but wore out way too quickly.
A novel pillow based on great idea that isn't as easy to use

I had seen this pillow on TV few years back and thought it'd be perfect for me because I'm tall and I often have bad neck issues on flights.
The concept of this pillow is amazing - you can sort of rest your chin while the back and side of your head is supported. However, I quickly found that this isn't so easy to achieve. It felt the most comfortable when my seat is almost upright, but due to the odd shaped cushion, pillow didn't stay that easily behind my head. And when I push back against it or recline the seat significantly, I sort of lost that chin-cradling benefit. I almost wished there was a giant elastic band to put around the cushion and my head (lol), or some kind of harness that fastens it to the headrest.
A solution is to use it on window seats where you can push against the window wall to ensure it stays there.. then it can be quite comfy. Maybe I haven't quite mastered this pillow, but yeah, it's definitely not as perfect as it is.
Wonderful and Practical J Pillow

If you're like me, looking at the hundreds of reviews on line can be a bit weary...and even confusing. I was a bit skeptical buying this pillow, but was under a bit of a time constraint and knew I needed SOMETHING because I was headed from Cleveland, Ohio to Chiang Mai, Thailand. So, I bought the J Pillow. I'm one of those poor souls who simply can't sleep on a plane. I also have neck problems. I don't get comfortable very easily. This pillow was my best friend on that 16 hour flight from JFK to Guangzhou, China. It stayed put and worked exactly as explained in the description. I had no neck problems at all and was very comfortable with this pillow (and, yes, this was a big surprise, since I'd feel the pea under a thousand mattresses). So, I am giving this J Pillow rave reviews! The other bonus for me was that it is so easy to squish that I was able to place it inside the blanket I always take on overseas flights. I cinched the blanket with the J pillow into a tidy little sausage roll that I cinched with two small straps, which I fastened onto my carry-on. Best deal ever! I really love J Pillow and won't leave home without it from now on when I know I need to catch some zzzz's on a plane.
Better than the U-shaped ones

I have a hard time getting to sleep even in my own bed, so a good travel pillow is worth a lot to me. So far, I have purchased three types, and I would rate this one in the middle. The other two are the Travel Pillow | Memory Foam Side Sleeper Pillow for Airplane, Car, Bus or Train - Best Travel Pillow for Isle, Middle & Window - Neck Cushion | Grey
, and the Push-Button Inflatable Daydreamer Neck Pillow with Airplane Travel Packsack and Luggage Clip - Gray
.
I would like this one a lot more if I could figure out how to tie it down so it doesn't slide around on the seat back. Even as is, it's much better than the U-shaped ones, for me. The fabric is soft and cozy, and the stuffing is nice and soft. It does give some support under my chin, which I like.
The photo shows a size comparison of the three pillows.
Pros and cons of the trio:
Memory foam pillow: 5 stars
(+) Memory foam insert is superb. Great contours and firmness
(+) Big enough to avoid falling into crack between seat and window
(+) Keeps my head from tipping forward or to side too much
(+) Easy to remove fabric covering to wash
(-) Product information claims it only weighs 8 oz, but it actually weighs 0.8 pounds (50% more! Bad!)
(-) Bulky to travel with unless you smash it
(-) Strap isn't as long as I would like
J-Pillow 4 stars
(+) The lightest of the three (0.5 pounds)
(+) Soft and cozy
(+) Some support under chin
(-) Slides around on seat back
(-) Not as much side (and chin) support as I would like
Daydreamer 3 stars
(+) The smallest one
(+) Light weight (0.6 pounds)
(-) I worry that it will spring a leak
(-) Least comfortable - pushes head forward; not enough side support
