This thing SUCKS. Not only is it sideways (the part that comes down on the can AND the side) but it also gets stuck pulling down and pulling back up.
What a waste of money!
Does well with modifications

I do like this but I had to make modifications. You have to weld or JB weld the handle to the arms. Also, the base tends to bend down and let the can slip out. So you have to add bulk to the base to keep the can from just slipping out. Basically you are creating a barrier to keep the can it until its crushed. I just used layers of scotch outdoor mounting tape - leaving the plastic cover on the last layer so it doesn't stick to the can. I'm sure there are better ways but I couldn't resist the simplicity of reaching in the nearby drawer and grabbing the shiny red tape.

I love this can crusher. This is my second one. The first one lasted two years (and a whole lot of can crushing) but ultimately I wanted to trade up to this one because it can crush taller cans, like those from beer or energy drinks. This crusher is very sturdy and well construction. The only advice I have is that you wrap some tape (friction, electrical, duct) around the foam rubber handle cover, because after awhile of constant use, the foam rubber handle cover will begin to tear and will ultimately come off. Wrapping the hand in tape eliminates this problem and it is far more comfortable to crush cans with that foam rubber cushion than it is without it.
feels flimsy at times, but keeps going

I've crushed thousands of cans with it. It's annoying to use unless it's wall mounted. The metal coatings they use are a bit cheap and scrape off over general use. It does what it says though, and at the end of the day it doesn't matter if it looks pretty or not. The rivets on the handle seem to be flimsy, but mine hasn't fallen apart yet, so I guess it's in my head.

The product works fine. Easily installed. I used some WD 40 to sort of lubricate the joints making it easier to work and quieter. For $15 - I can not complain. I like it because it works easily for my wife. She has one downstairs and I have one outside on the upstairs outside deck. I also like it for the 16 oz. cans in addition to the 12 oz cans and those even smaller. Have not used it for the Australian beer "oil cans" yet - that's waits until later this year.
In summation: you can pay more but why? Crushes the cans saves space and then more aluminum and hence more money via recycle buyer.
Broke after less than 1 month of home use.

It looked great out of the box. All metal parts, no plastic to beak down. Then the slide started sticking. Then the bottom started to warp. Then the arms started to warp. Eventually the arms just hung down at the bottom, and it was so skewed that you couldn't use it.
Does the Job.

I have crushed well over a thousand cans so far and it does the job. It isn't built super durable, but for the price I think it does the job and for ordinary 12oz can crushing, I wouldn't see why you should pay more.

This can crusher is not QUITE as sturdy as I would have liked, but it does the job just fine. We crush a lot of aluminum cans, to make room in our recycle bin. This crusher will not take the tallest aluminum cans, but this was a good purchase, especially for the price, and was easily mounted on a post in our outdoor work area.

While It worked great within the first 30 minutes the handle did come loose. I used a rubber band to hold it together. It still works, just wish the construction was a bit stronger for the handle.
