I'm not sure what happened, but these sponges aren't the quality they used to be. I have been buying these for years after seeing them on the DIY channel's show "I Want That." They have always lasted the full month with no issues whatsoever. Unfortunately, this year they smell horrible after a week. I have run them through the dishwasher and microwaved them to try to " freshen" them, but nothing works. This never happened the past few years that I purchased these. I was wondering why they weren't a Prime item this year and I had to buy them from a third party. Now I know why. It's a shame. I really liked these in the past.
