Highly recommended flashlight.

OK, this is a very late review because I do not write reviews very often (too lazy some time). However, I have been using it for almost 3 years (bought this one on August 4, 2013). It's been working like a charm as of today. I've used it at many different places and environments. No single issue at all. Super bright and more importantly, very reliable. The battery life has dropped as expected over three years (I am still using the original batteries).

Another thing I must mention is that, in fact, this is the 3rd one I bought in a row from the same vendor due to the first two (exactly the same model) not working properly at the beginning. The vendor was very honest and apologized for the inconvenience when I contacted them to let them know the issues. The replacement also came with a complimentary Olight flashlight from the vendor due to the issues of the first two, I guess (I did not ask for it, and it worked so great that I bought another Olight later from them on Amazon for my dad). I was really surprised that I was so "lucky" to receive two non-working product in a row, given the fact that there are so many positive reviews on it. However, I do appreciate the vendor's honesty, willingness to take responsibility and superb customer service. Several of my friends bought different model flashlights (also Nitecore) from them following my recommendation. So far they have told me the same thing - working like a charm. The series of flashlights seem to be very high quality compared to other models I bought.

The Mighty Little Beast !
by Tech Guy (5 out of 5 stars)

Had for almost a week so this is short term but I can say this thing is insane.

I live on a 80 acre farm the biggest clearing is about 300 yard and it can light up the entire thing and everything between well with the spill.

The lights I have that I compared it to are the Olight Sr mini ii (3200lumen) and the Eagtac MXL3C (2500lumen) the olight is just a floodlight but the Eagtac is close to the TM26GT beam pattern. THE NITECORE BLOWS THE NOT AWAY TOGETHER!

If you are looking for something to light everything up in a med distance range like 350 yards or less get this it works well the range is 770 yards but 350 is where it does the best for making out objects.

THINK THINGS IS HEAVY so keep your belt tight lol I work eight hour shifts with it on and it doesn't drag me down too bad all around great light nut the two stage switch can take time to get used to . I highly recommend this bundle the price is perfect and the unit I received works flawlessly ! As usual with high output compact lights DO NOT EXPECT FULL OUTPUT TO RUN LONG ! THIS THING GETS WARM FAST! But not bad for a light you can carry on your side that embarrasses 3 million candlepower spotlights :)

I love my Nitecore TM26GT!
by Lord High Warlock (4 out of 5 stars)

I work overnight security at a hospital. My employer supplies a 3 D-Cell LED Mag-Lite (~168 Lumens), which I've never used. Instead, I've been using an Aurora SH-42 SST-50 (beveled reflector) for the last 7 years or so. I decided it was time to upgrade, and I am NOT disappointed.

Here are some thoughts on this light:
-- Lowest setting of 3 Lumens will likely never be used...nice to have, though.
-- The Low setting of 95 Lumens performs nearly as well as the Aurora SH-42 at "1,000" Lumens. Go figure.
-- The Mid setting of of 540 Lumens will be what I use the most. This lamp definitely projects better than the Aurora.
-- The High of 1,700 Lumens and Turbo of 3,500 Lumens are insanely bright! I was able to light up the side of building from 2 parking lots away, and still make out details. And I love how quickly / easily you can go right into these modes.
-- Given that the Mid level has an ideal runtime of 9.75 hours, I could potentially go months between charges, especially with the Lockout feature...I typically only use it for 5-10 minutes a night, unless there are problems.
-- The lanyard supplied with the light seemed slightly too big for the short light, so I'm using an old camera lanyard instead.
-- My wife surprised me by getting the NBP68. It's half-again as powerful as the NBP52 (65w vs. 98w). I placed the stock lanyard on this one. The manual states that if you're using the NBP52, all runtime readouts should be doubled. I'm guessing that they can be nearly tripled with the NBP68. And if you use either battery pack, you can forget about the "Tiny" in the nomenclature...they effectively turn these into Mag-Lite-ish lights on steroids.
-- I also like the Beacon mode. It will be used if the Helipad lights ever fail, and I need to direct MedAir to the pad...it's happened in the past, unfortunately.
-- I was worried that it wouldn't fit the current configuration of my duty belt, and that I'd have to rearrange things. Surprisingly, I do not have to worry about that, despite this light being twice as wide as the Aurora I was using.

I've only had mine for a few days, and I can honestly say that I will likely never buy another flashlight for my job...and with the standard tripod mount, this will be great for photo shoots, as well as camping trips.

During my research, I e-mailed Nitecore a few questions, and I found them very responsive...all answers came back within 2 business days.

Yes, it's somewhat pricey. And like any good tool, it will make a great investment if you get it. :)

EDIT: After owning this light for two months now, I've lowered it by one star. Not necessarily related to the flashlight itself, but more for the nylon sheath / holster. While designed to fit a duty belt, I do not believe it was meant to be worn every day, which is what I need. My wife has already had to resow some of the stitching to keep it together, and as time goes by, it becomes increasingly difficult to get the flashlight out of the sheath...its own weight pulls it farther and farther down. And that's WITHOUT the added weight of the larger battery pack...which only makes it worse.

So, I'm now in search of a better sheath / holster for it, and I may end up having to have one custom made...if I can find someone locally at an affordable price.

If you plan on using this for camping, or only occasionally carrying it on your duty belt, the nylon sheath it comes with should be fine. However, if, like me, you intend to carry it every day, you'll be looking for a replacement after a couple of weeks.

Nitecore TM26

Most important. Nobody NEEDS a light like this unless of course you're trying to contact beings on another world. Nobody needs this but I can certainly understand why someone would love to have it. I have it. I love it. My wife thinks I'm nuts. She's probably right. You can learn everything you need to know (and much more) by watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YI19dGF8an0

There are several reviews on youtube. This is the best. Cut and paste the address into your browser.

Upside: beautifully designed, insanely powerful, lots of fun. Only criticism: The multipurpose switch is small and it's sometimes difficult to find the mode you're looking for. It should get easier with practice.

Great high-end torch!
by Alex (5 out of 5 stars)

Have several other LED, halogen/searchlight torches - this is far + away the best + completely lived up to expectations!

Rather expensive, but you get what you pay for in this case. Seems quite reliable thus far. Got car charger for use while traveling.

Only change I'd make is ability to charge my iPhone in an emergency...

Need some light on the matter? (update: GREAT flashlight poor(no) service from the company.)
by Saden Shard (3 out of 5 stars)

The light works as advertised and it works very well for lighting up an area or putting in a machine and being able to work off of the reflections throughout the machine. So far oil and grease hasn't been a problem for it and the lockout function is nice. It is a bit hot when you leave it on for a while even when it's at 1680 lumens.

So far the only negative I see is the strobe. It a little tricky to get it in SOS and strobe modes as the light on to initiate it. The strobe is a bit fast for what would be needed for disorientating intruders but she shear brightness will probably do that anyways.
*UPDATE*

I really like this flashlight, it is very bright and puts out a good beam that tapers off nicely. The only problem is that, when you have problems with the product, Nitecore give no support for the products. That is fine and all for the $50 flashlights that I own, but when a LED goes bad on a flashlight that is 6 months old that is not used much and you can't get ahold of them to either honor a warrantee or offer a repair on a $300 flashlight that's not good business.

A great tac flashlight
by G. Robinson (5 out of 5 stars)
July 7, 2013

The good:

Multiple light levels including a 4 lumen mode that is great for sneaking about.
3500 lumens is a disabling light beam.

Get to the 3500 lumens with one button push.

Good indicators of status.

Water proof.

Well built.

Compact.

Uses rechargeable batteries.

Includes a charger for use with the flash.

Lots of settings and modes.

The bad.

Short and stout takes some getting used to the holster.

Heavy.

One button two depth push control is awkward.

Some of the infrequently used settings are difficult to get into.

The ugly:

Need to cycle through all the non combat brightnesses to get what you want.
7 hour recharge, if you are oncall emergency people you need extra rechargeable batteries and external charger (~$150).

Some jurisdictions consider it a disabling weapon; using the 3500 lumen setting can be considered assault and justify the use of deadly force.

Inadvertently triggering the combat modes when pointing into a reflective object (window etc.) will leave you seeing bright spots.

Overall an excellent light although a bit pricy.
