Great sound, as long as you're not moving around...
by KD 44 (3 out of 5 stars)
August 20, 2015

I've been using these headphones on my daily commute in and out of work for almost a month. I knew going in that buying white would show the dirt very quickly- especially being a woman & wearing makeup. Luckily they clean easily, so that doesn't bother me as much.

I noticed that when I'm sitting on the train, or I'm at my desk, the sound is excellent. I feel like I can hear every note (when my Spotify actually cooperates and plays correctly. I digress...) as if my favorite band is playing right next to me. The bass is rich, but not overbearing. I was pretty excited that I found "the" pair. Then, I started walking around...

I don't know how I haven't experienced this in any other headphones I've owned over the years (which have been many- cheap and expensive), but the cord noise is obnoxious. Obnoxious because it interferes with being able to hear anything playing because it's rubbing against my clothes. I try not to listen to music too loud, but it seems like you need to just to drown out the cord noise. Using the clip helps it subside, but it's not the most functional/easiest clip to work. When it's the summer and I'm wearing lighter clothes, I end up holding the cord away from my body to get it to stop. Not exactly the easiest resolution, but it works. I noticed the earbuds slipping out like some of the other reviews mentioned, but I just swapped the earbuds to the other ear (L to R, and vice-versa) and that seemed to give me a better fit.

I'll continue to use these headphones because the sound I get when I'm not moving around is excellent, and my fiance will kill me if I buy another pair. But I won't be sad to see these go if they break. a-Jays, if you can make a cord noise-free pair, you'd have a buyer for life.

Expected better materials

Headphones sound great, but they tend to fall out regardless of the rubber piece size that is used. They also do not age well. I have had mine a little over a year and they honestly look terrible. The rubber boot on the earbuds is loose and starting to shred. The worst part is that I made a point to keep them in the case and was very gentle with them over all. Not happy with the lack of longevity when compared to the price.

Update- reduced to 2 stars. Headphones lasted only a couple months into the second year. They sounded great at first, really showed wear and tear after about 6 months despite keeping them in the proved case when not in use, and one bud ceased to function after about 16-17 months. Purchased open unit at a discount, so no warranty service for this guy :-(

Nice but not perfect
by Nikki (4 out of 5 stars)

I did already buy those earbuds in a brick and mortar shop and they lasted perfectly for more than a year before I lost them.

The sound is good, clear and powerful, I also like the app that let you personalize the action of the buttons, very practical to navigate through your songs, change the volume, etc..

As I said their are solid, the cable is flat an I love it, it does not get all messy in your pocket and does not break near the jack, like regular earbuds often do due to torsion.

You can feel that it is not a poor quality product, the buttons are soft and work great.

BUT, I am only rating it a 4 stars because of the poor fit of it in the ear

With practice you can find a way to position it so it stays longer but it still isn't great fit.

For example I often use them at the gym and I often have to put them back in place because one fell or is not set correctly anymore.

Without this little flaw, I would rate it 5 stars because of the good sound an low price.

They do work after all
by Mike (5 out of 5 stars)
April 30, 2015

Just got these headphones today. On the plus side they fit well in my ears, the sound is pretty good. Unfortunately these headphones don't work well with my Nexus 5. Yes, it has the 3 button controls which let me play and stop music, answer calls and increase/lower volume but, for some reason although I can skip songs forward by clicking the middle button 2 times, skipping back songs does not work at all when clicking the middle button 3 times. I've tried to change the buttons functions with the app and nothing. Don't know if this is a software issue or just no compatibility with my phone. Finding working headphones for the N5 has been one of the most frustrating things I've gone through. I don't know why Google doesn't make or include headphones with their phones/tablets. How expensive can this be for them? I had an iPhone before and I'm seriously thinking of going back because of frustrations like this one.

UPDATE:

As it turns out all the headphone functions work as they should. The problem is Google Music Play. I downloaded other music players and I had no issues with them. Also, I haven't had the problems others have, so far, with headphones falling out of my ears or cable making noises. I guess it depends on the size and shape of your ears. Will keep using them and updating this review as needed.

Beautiful, Durable, Fashionable, and Audio works wonders to the ears!
by Juan (5 out of 5 stars)

Pros:
- Sturdy Material with a grwat choice of being a Flat Cable.
- App that helps for all those audioheads out there.
- Very Beautiful and makes it almost impossible not to repeatedly place in the case once you are done using it.
- The Remote helps alot when you don't want to constantly take out your phone.
- Assembled in Sweden which is also is where Ikea was borned from.
- I work at Ikea so seeing this gave me goosbumps to show to all my co workers
- Audio easily blocks out all outside noise.
- Fits snug in the ears and since there are more options for the earpiece it gives different earholes a chance to fall in love with these earphones

Cons:
- Bass is alright, but not enough for those who are heavily into Bass.

They were extremely comfortable and lasted for 3 years
by Bazabib (3 out of 5 stars)

I had a-JAYS 4 and loooooved them. They were extremely comfortable and lasted for 3 years! These ones are not as comfortable as the 4 generation. It is hard to sleep on them and they come off easily. I tried all sizes but still, they become loose when I walk so I have to push them back into my ear every few steps. I wish I had bought the 4, the same as I had before and I was extremely happy with.

One major flaw
by U. Narayanan (3 out of 5 stars)
January 24, 2014

I like these earphones. The sound is crisp. It has great range and all variety of music (rap, progressive trance, house, alternative rock, modern rock etc.) sound good on these earphones. However, there is a big flaw (read the cons)

Pros:
1. Excellent carrying case
2. Crisp sound
3. **3-button with mic in-line remote that works with ANDROID!!**
4. Good Android app

Cons:
1. The earphone wiring is too heavy, it keeps falling from my ear - because of which I have to wrap the earphones from behind my ear! This does not deteriorate the mic effectiveness or ear-bud sound quality, but instead of just putting the buds into your ear, you have to wrap it from behind your ears into your ear canal. This is SO stupid! This has to do with the weight of the cables. The cable wiring and quality is top notch, but it is just too heavy to keep the ear-buds from staying in place inside your ears!

Good idea ruined by what should of been a more throughly tested ergonomic design
by James D (2 out of 5 stars)
September 5, 2014

where do I start... the biggest issue with these headphones is the ear bud design, its made to rest on the bottom of your ear lobes which leaves no angle of any degree to wedge it in your canal, in my experience it left me unable to push them in further to properly isolate outside noise. These head phones have a bigger dynamic spectrum then most but in my case lead to problems, without a proper fit to isolate sound I'm left over raising the volume to get a proper bass response and then constantly tinkering, this in itself is enough to negate the convenience of having a volume control. on a positive note it does work as intended with my samsung galaxy s5 but for this price they are simply not worth it and going back. I really wish Urbanears would make a Kransen Plus for android, they are some of the most comfortable commuter headphones I ever used. On a last note, the comments about the earbuds falling out, as a 6'4" male with average sized ears, they didn't on me BUT while walking the sound of the cable is real, it sounds like when you're inside car on the highway and buffer zone of bumps pops up to alert the driver, the rubber cable is simply too bulky and long, use nylon or something please.

Best headphones for Windows Phone. Great features for a great price.
by Joshua McVey (4 out of 5 stars)
July 4, 2014

These are some of the best headphones out there, even when compared to those for much larger markets like the iPhone. I had a pair of the a-Jays Four and enjoyed them, so I decided to go with these when I got a Windows Phone. The features included are exactly what you want, and the price for those features is much better than competitors.

Four stars because the microphone picks up my shirt scraping against it as I walk around. Its not really that bad, but noticeable. Also, the remote casing feels cheap. The buttons themselves are of good quality.

I pair these with custom earbud covers from Decibullz. Its a product you use to make custom molded earbud covers. They look real weird, but are comfortable and make sure the headphones stay in my ears when I am moving around.

Heavy and didn't fit
by NPF (2 out of 5 stars)
February 28, 2019

I didn't like how the flat wires made it heavier since they use more materials than the round thin wired ones and it didn't fit in my ears. I tried all the available size buds... they did look cool but I had to return them. Sound was same as my $5 ones I used before these.
