Very effective. As other reviews mention, having a second to make sure the template is properly aligned is the way to get the best results from this product. All I do is strap the band to my forehead and hold a hand mirror behind my head while standing in front of the mirror. This is the crucial step you must take your time with in order to have a nice clean trim. After alignment, just grab your clipper or other grooming device in one hand while holding the template in place with the other (as it does tend to move) and your ready to look clean.

To be honest I've used it once. I went to the barber and he asked who cut the back of my hair and I lied and told him my girl did it. I tried my best but he said it was crooked. I tried my best to make it straight when I did it. Long story short... it will make a straight line but good luck making it straight. Just another thing someone doesnt need laying around.

I bought this to help me cut my husbands hair. I have no idea why, but i struggle hard core trying to get my hubbies neck line straight. This product is AMAZING! Now i cut it straight every time and don't have to worry about him having a crooked neck line or cutting it super short to try to get it straight!

Overpriced but works

The soft rubber definitely helps mold to your neck and stay in place as long as you keep a hand on it as you trim. Not sure if it is just my anatomy but this does not make a straight cut. The sides dip slightly lower than the middle. I will try and fix this by cutting it to a shape I prefer. Of the choices available for this type of product this does seem to be the best but it is definitely way overpriced for what you get. This should be no more than a $10 item as the materials cost has to be minimal.

The biggest drawback to a man cutting his own hair, without assistance, is difficulty in trimming the neckline. This device solves that problem. The outcome is never going to be as good as what a talented barber will achieve. But then, some barbers are not that good; and so, you take your chances, no matter whether a man cuts his own hair or pays a stranger.

This lets my son shave his neck himself. He just holds it in place and uses hes electric razor. He uses a rotary norelco razor and just shaves that area like his face. He hates the prickly hairs on his neck.

I bought it for him because he accidentally shaved his neck way too high and it looked very weird. This solved the problem. It's quick and he just tosses it into the drawer with his razor. It's easy for him to just switch hands and hold it in place to get both sides.

I was skeptical at first if the thing would even stay in place while attempting to trim the part of my head that's hard to see and reach. I do recommend holding it down to your skin while trimming or your trimmers could go slightly higher in some areas. However, overall it works and as long as you set a straight line, you will get a straight line.

PROBLEM: Not Long Enough ...

DISCUSSION: For what area that it covers, it works absolutely great ... But on my neck there is about 1/2 - 3/4 inch on each side that is not covered therefore, I have to guesstimate ... and the feedback that I get from my friends, the guesstimate is off on each side ...

RECOMMENDATION: Make it adjustable or different lengths ...

Take your time with it. It's easier to cut off more hair if needed than cut off too much to start. It's a good product if you cut your own hair like I do. I've always been scared to cut my neckline before buying this.

What a great idea. I can trim my own neck line. Sometimes I don't need a whole haircut, just to clean up the edges. Paired with a cheap set of clippers my hair cut can last a bit longer and save me some $$. Takes a moment in the mirror to get it placed right, and I keep a hand on it to keep it from moving. After that trimming my neck line is a no brainer.
