Product Description
This new multi-functional outlet kit allows you to plug in electrical devices such as dehumidifiers, hard-drives, laptops, watch winders, lights, etc. The Outlet Kit includes a USB and CAT-5 ETHERNET ports, along with three 110V outlets. This gun safe electrical outlet includes a pass-through hole for Liberty's SAFELERT monitoring device's antenna. The Power Outlet Kit is easy to install (see video below), and can be adjusted to the various thicknesses found in Liberty's fire safes. The electrical outlet kit includes 6-foot power cord with convenient 90-degree angles for easier wall plug-in and tight spaces.
NOTE: To install, safe must be moved from the wall or closet. If there was not an outlet kit already installed, it will add 1.25" to the depth of your safe. This may require re-drilling the lag bolts in the floor if utilized. You may also contact your local Liberty dealer, who can install this new electrical outlet kit for an additional fee.
APRIL 2014 MODELS and AFTER: Liberty's new Safe Power Outlet Kit comes standard on all Franklin, Lincoln, Presidential and National Security safes built after April 2014. For Revere and Colonial safes built after April, 2014, the precut hole in the fireboard has already been cut and covered by the interior fabric. Simple cut the fabric around the hole and install.

Overall it's a good kit but there are a few things that could be better.
I installed the kit in my new Liberty Centurion 18 gun safe. There are 4 different installation videos for different models of Liberty safes on their website.
My safe didn't have the interior panel drilled out so I followed video #4.
They are suggesting to use a 2 7/8 inch hole saw where the first problem appears. I challenge you to find a hole saw that size at Home Depot or Lowes. I can promise that you won't have any luck. I personally used a 3 inch hole saw which honestly worked just fine but not knowing that in the beginning cost me time and nerves.
I read a lot of reviews about this Power & Media kit and noticed that people are claiming that the plastic housing is scratched and the kit smells like burned electrical components and it looks used.
I inspected the kit at arrival and being a Manufacturing Engineer I have a different point of view. The electrical components are fine AND NEW, The plastic housing is not scratched but simply of inferior quality. It would've taken an extra step in fabrication of this part to make it look nicer. I'm assuming that the plastic part, if not the whole kit is made in China and money was saved in just not running the piece in a tumbler machine after injection molding. I personally don't think it's a big deal. You have to look closely to see the imperfections.
The "burned electrical smell" is also coming from the plastic. It is gassing out. The smell will go away after a while. Some of our cheaper packaging components have the same exact smell.
Long story short. There is no need to worry about hooking the kit up to power.
The installation was fairly simple and took me about 20 minutes including vacuuming the inside of my safe after drilling.
This kit is the cleanest way to run 120volt, a USB connection, an ethernet cable and the antenna cable for the SAFELERT monitoring device's antenna. I would definetely buy it again.
Exactly what I was intending... Perfect fit.

Took me a while, but well worth it. I have a "Stack-on Safe" and did not have the pre-cut opening as in a "Liberty Safe." I was not impressed with the Stack-on plug so I needed to adapt to fit a Liberty plug. I used one of the four pre-existing vent holes as a start. Cutting the outer safe was time consuming as I needed the opening to be precise on harden metal not designed to be cut in. The installation after the cut was a breeze. The plug looks professional and fits perfectly. I added a de-humidifier and led lights. See photos of plug.
Works great!

This product is easier to install than some let on. Opening the packaging you'll find 4 sets of screws to hold the parts together and spacers cut to length based on color code. The amount of insulation panels 1, 2 or 3 will determine which length you need. Once this is determined, you'll assemble the spacers and screws to hold the plug at the right distance (ends up being flush with the exterior surface) from the inner part. Have someone hold the inner part in the hole (pre-cut if your Fat Boy safe was made after 2014) and place the metal escutcheon plate in line with the machine screws and tighten hand tight. (they have a Phillips head). Plug it in and re-assemble the shelving. If you get items to plug in, consider having flush mount plugs. This item sticks out about 1.5" and will take up a small amount of space. If you use it for gun storage, a Winchester model 94 (or any other rifle with a short comb) fits right in front of it with no issues. I ran a flush mount cord up to the underside of the top shelf to power two 12" fluorescent lights. Although I haven't used the RJ-45 or USB plugs yet, it's nice knowing I could someday. Very glad I got this.
Great addition to my safe; instructions not real clear

The Liberty Safe power outlet pack fits perfectly into the outlet hole in the safe. The instructions could be improved. Liberty Safes had cut the fire material already using the 3" hole saw per their instructions; then they covered it all up with the fabric liner, leaving the 3" puck in place. Instructions indicated I would have to cut my own hole; fortunately, pushing from the back of the safe caused the puck to move forward a little, revealing its presence. 15 minutes later, after carefully trimming away the fabric and removing the puck, the outlet pack was installed and operational.
Rocky start

After 2 orders that came with missing parts I decided to go to a dealer and purchase the kit. I opened the box before leaving the store and it was also incomplete. The second box that was presented had no tape on it but as it was being opened the bottom fell out and dumped the contents. The packaging from Liberty is woefully inadequate. After such a rocky start I must say that this kit is fantastic. Easy install and looks great when complete. I was unaware that the outlet provided surge protection which is a welcome bonus! I would reccomend this product to anyone but only with a guarantee of parts inventory before purchase.
Paid for new, received a used product that smells burnt up.

Paid for a brand new product, definitely not what I received. Now I'm behind on mounting my safe because I refuse to use a used electrical device that smells burnt up.
Great way to add power to a Liberty Safe

This power outlet kit is a good way to add 3 electrical outlets to a Liberty Safe. This outlet requires the 3 inch hole in the fireboard of the safe. My new Fatboy Jr. from Gander Outdoor was made this year but It had a 2 inch hole in the front fireboard but the back fireboard had a 3 inch hole. Very odd manufacturing but no problem other than I had to buy the 3 inch hole saw & make the cut as shown on the Liberty website. Also, a very sharp razor knife is needed to cut the carpet in front of the fireboard hole - difficult to produce a clean cut. The only issue with the outlet kit was that the hole saw guide rod provided in the kit was too large to fit the hole in outlet guide plug (this plug fits on the back of the safe to guide the cut). Since the guide plug is plastic it was easy to ream out the hole a little with the hole saw bit. After that all went well as shown on the website and the outlet looks & works great.
Works well and has factory fit.

Product works as described and fit my Centurion 18 safe no problem. I did have to use a hole saw to cut the cement board, but there are very descriptive install videos on Liberty's website detailing typical install for their various safe models. Currently I have a set of safe lights plugged in and will add a dehumidifier in the near future. I don't plan to use the USB or network connection, but it's nice to know it's available if I ever need it.
I read reviews where people were unhappy with scratch marks in the plastic. Mine had those but they're very superficial, and not visible once the unit was installed and a shelf was placed low in the safe.
Power and data in the safe

The power kit came as advertised with the capabilities promoted. It is well made and sturdy. Installation is easy but could be better. My liberty safe came with the hole to insert the power/data unit only partially cut. The hole was there but had to be resized to insert the power kit for proper fit. Since the hole was already partially cut, why not to the proper size? Fixing the hole result in a fine white power on the inside of the safe that gets in the fuzzy material covering the floor and walls around the unit that is hard to get out. Recommend use plastic and tape off a large area prior to working the hold size. Final look is great. Works fine. USB port is nice and allows for a cheap USB drive for easy PC backups that are safe protected. My light kit covers two outlets leaving only one open for a dehumidifier or one self powered digital device. Recommend purchase for a liberty safe as my negative comments are minor and picky. Otherwise, great kit that produces a finished look and does the job.
Easy to install

The power outlet was very easy to install and came with clear instructions on how to do it. Depending on the year model of the safe, the instructions varied, but they were clear as to what needed to be done based on the manufactured year. I really like that it came with a template to use as a guide for the hole saw. The directions tell you this, but you will need a 2-3/4 inch or 3 inch hole saw to cut through the fiber board on the interior.
