Crayons NOT chalk, best on very dry hair

Although the colors are bright and have a nice metallic sparkle, they have a very greasy texture that never truly dried on our hair (despite what the package said). They did work well on a friend's extremely-dry hair; but on ours they stayed greasy and unpleasant. We wouldn't buy this again, but she might. This is NOT hair "chalk", it's more like hair-crayon. Also it doesn't work well on dreadlocked hair; hair chalk is better for dreads. These hair-crayons tend to leave weird, sticky little chunks that are hard to wash out of dreads. But the colors are beautifully bright and easy to blend, and the silver, pink, and green shades even showed up well on black hair, which is impressive.

I was hoping they would show a little brighter, but definintely got the job done for my dark haired 5 year old's silly hair day at school. Showed up huge in my 2 year olds blonde hair who wanted to play after her big sister left. Both washed out without any trouble. Does make their hair pretty greasy. We had fun with them and plan to use them again!

These were perfect for my boys for "Crazy Hair Day" at school. They were easy to apply, even for a first-timer and they were fun and vibrant. They only rubbed off a tiny bit on my kids' t-shirts, but not bad at all and they washed out easily. They washed out of their hair super easy - no extra effort at all! These were exactly what we were looking for.

I have dark brown hair and at first was worried that the color would not be vibrant enough. In addition to this I cannot dye my hair due to my profession since I frequently work with people outside of my employer. This allows me to apply some color in a few minutes and then head out the door for a Friday/Saturday and have it washed out by the next day.

Washes off super easily so no worries about anything staying in. Can draw on faces, eyebrows, hair, etc. with no problems. Really only for little kids to mess around with. Don't use if you actually want to go somewhere with some colored stripes of hair like the older model in the picture, because its kinds of chunky and sticky and will make your hair feel weird.

I have medium brown hair- The red looks absolutely great. I tried the other colors, but they just aren't what I would wear on a regular day (which might just be the point, eh?). I was hoping that the gold might look kind of sun-kissed, but no- it's just plain yellow. Fun to play with, easy to use, wash out easily.

Great colors. Easy to wash out. I purchased these originally to highlight a black wig with the silver and purple colors. It didn't work very well on synthetic hair. However it worked great on my own hair. So easy to use. Just hold the hair and swipe the crayons down the strands. Perfect!

I bought these for my 8 yr old daughter who wanted to dye her hair pink. Her year round school frowns on the crazy colors so we needed something that would wash out. We used this with her cousins. We had a blonde and two brunettes. The color went in really well in both my nieces' hair (blond and light brown hair). It was a little iffy in my daughter's hair she has dark brown hair. I've seen the reviews about this going in well in "dark brown hair" but when I looked at the pictures, most of them had medium or light brown hair. To be clear both my daughter and I have DARK brown hair, about the color of Hershey's milk chocolate. I had my concerns about it showing up in my daughter's hair. It wasn't great in her hair, but not awful. You can see the color when she's outside in the sun, but at night it's barely noticeable. The green was pretty good. It showed up in any light, but i wonder if it might stain light hair. I can't say for sure since my blonde niece did her hair in blue and purple. It looked amazing. My niece with the light brown hair did mostly pink, but tried them all. They showed up great too.

These do make your hair feel different. You can't run your fingers through your hair. We didn't want to risk getting it on their clothes so we put their hair up. looks great in pony tails and braids and buns. We found if there were lumps of color left behind they comb right out as long as you comb it before it sets. It's much harder to run a brush through when it's set, but we expected that since we're coating their hair. The color is basically like a tube of lipstick, just a little thicker. I wouldn't recommend doing all your hair with these unless you have a LOT of time on your hands. It looks best if you just do small strands at a time.

Over all, these are great if you don't have super dark hair. It went on well, and more importantly to me, washed out well. She slept with it in her hair and it didn't stain her pillowcase.

I have medium blonde hair and these go on easily, the color stays all night, and it washes out with shampoo. I could not be happier. I am looking for more excuses to use these now.

This worked PERFECTLY to color my husband's beard for Halloween. His hair is dark brown (though, to be honest, the beard is mostly grey at this point), but it covered well without looking clumpy or wet. I would think this would work for many situations and I recommend it.
