Big time fun in a small package...for a few days.by Tim Kates (2 out of 5 stars)

I would not consider this a beginner quadcopter, but if you have spent time flying something a little bigger, like the Nano QX, then you should be able to fly this one no problem. I would not recommend flying this outside unless there is no wind and you can keep it close to you. The range isn't far and you could end up chasing it to get back into range. But when the weather keeps you inside, this is a great choice. Many of the smaller quads I have and have seen don't offer prop guards or have a cumbersome add-on type prop guard that is somewhat limited. The built-in prop guards on this quad are great. If you hit something from the side, it just bounces away and keeps flying. If you hit the ceiling, no problem, the blades and the ceiling are both protected, and if you land upside down, your props are still off the ground to help extend the life of your props and your motors if you are slow to throttle down. The slow rate is very manageable for small spaces, and the higher rate is very maneuverable for larger spaces or more experienced pilots. The lights on it are really neat too. I wish my Nano QX lit up like this one so I could fly it at night. The new, lower price on this little guy makes this a great buy in my opinion and I am having a blast flying it!
Update: After flying this for a few days, I am finding that the quality of this quad seems to be sub-par for a Blade product. I have been flying quads for a while and have other Blade quads that I love, but this one is turning out to be a disappointment. Props get loose and fly off. Motors come out of their mounts while flying, and sometimes seems to lose signal from about 20 feet away and I need to chase after it to re-gain control.
So much fun for so little money

What an awesome little toy, for an amazing price. Totally worth it. Although I have a lot of experience with CP remote control helicopters, I'm sure anyone can be competent with this thing in less than ten minutes, and doing REALLY well in an hour of flight time. Stable and easy to fly indoors.
Flight time is pretty short, since it's too tiny to have much battery. I think I'm doing 6-8 minutes of flight time, but haven't put a timer to it. It warns you of a low battery by blinking the lights and then slowly reducing power until the craft lands softly. Very smart. Recharging it is pretty easy, it gets power from a USB cable so I've just been using a rechargeable USB battery pack to charge the copter many times before the battery needs a recharge. This makes it highly portable and convenient.

OKay. All in all a very good unit. The thing is, it is cheaper than the big ones. If it dies (by my crashing), I will not be so ticked off as I would if one of the bigger units were to die off. Did notice a minor learning curve (going from a bigger unit to this smaller unit) but not much. Keep in mind that pushing the right control stick down will enable "FAST" mode. All in all a good product. I'll see how my 5 year old daughter will fair with the unit.

I ordered two of these despite my local hobby shop trying to steer me toward the Proto X SLT. They both flew fine for a few flights but didn't last more than two days. Each of them experienced a motor failure. Unlike the Nano QX I fly regularly there do not appear to be replacement parts available. We were looking for something smaller to fly indoors this winter (the Nano QX works, but flying two or three at a time indoors is difficult) and the size is right but the Pico QX just isn't as reliable as other Blade/E-Flite/Parkzone products. Horizon Hobby unfortunately missed the mark with this one!

feels like its 20 years out of date, both the cheersons and the symas make This stupid drone feel like it belongs in the 90s. the price is ridiculous for the technology it offers
Will stay away from pico/micro quads after giving this a try

quad copter never made it off the ground. Adjusted everything per the instruction manual. Contacted Horizon Hobby support and they emailed me back two weeks after I had already returned it. If you are looking for a quad, stay away from the pico/micro quads and go with the larger sizes. You will be much happier with the performance.
This BladePico works pretty well. I am a novice quad-copter pilot

This BladePico works pretty well. I am a novice quad-copter pilot, but it was easy to learn the basics. It is very susceptible to hair and lint on motors. keep it clean. It takes quite a bit of abuse, but wish the motors were replaceable I forsee issues in the future. There have been issues with keeping trim after crashes. I am thinking of stepping up to the Blade Nano that seems to have better reviews.

I love this thing.... The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I want it to bind with my Spektrum DX8..... Oh it's a picky world we live in.

So dissapointing. We love these small drones. This one got hair stuck in it soon after purchasing it and then couldn't fly after that.

Great little quad, fun to fly... only complaint is that the controller is just too small for my hands.
