Good drone, terrible batteries, and even worse customer support.
by terwi1td (1 out of 5 stars)

Got this drone as a present to myself in Fall 2017 that I saved up for quite some time. When I got it, I took it out to fly and immediately one of the batteries started blinking red in the charger.. meaning that they sent me a defective battery. I contacted Amazon and they sent me a $20 credit to make up for it (unfortunately batteries for this cost 40 or more so I was unable to replace it). So.. I started flying on the remaining battery and loved it! The product works great and it is super fun and fast. I probably flew it about 20 times or so, and it was around 11 minute fly times.

Then many life changes happened and winter, and when I got out my drone and the battery in the Spring 2018, the remaining working battery was blinking red. I had no working batteries. I emailed Parrot through the app, and never heard back. This was within my six month battery warranty. Some more drastic life changes happened and I moved and got a new job. Finally, once things calmed down a bit I once again got out my drone and tried to charge either of the batteries and neither worked. So I contacted Parrot a few weeks ago thinking that they would either send me a new battery or at least give me a coupon toward a new one.

Instead I get an email back saying I am not within my six month period and I get nothing. Not even an apology for a bad experience and a defective product. I emailed a couple more times and the emails got worse and more derogatory. They weren't even being kind to me about my situation.

Expect great a great product, batteries that don't last, and don't expect to get any support on your product. I am not buying from them again.

When I first turned it on and hit the takeoff ...

When I first turned it on and hit the takeoff button on my phone, it automatically flipped over. What I read online was to switch the prop positions. The black props are in front and the red ones are in back. Problem solved.

I think no other drone competes at this price range

A fast and big drone with a great camera, it is not as big as the phantom which makes it great for travel, using it by an app on my phone which is great because i hate battery controllers, has good range and the video is nice, pretty stable, the wide angle lens helps to look down but if you prefer there is "ace" mode in the app which allows you to control where the camera looks, if you crash this one it seems pretty easy to fix by yourself

No type of product support DON'T BUY

Right after receiving this package I tried to charge the battery and it and the charger started smoking. Last week I came to find out the return to home feature doesn't work either. That is a huge problem and almost caused my drone to be destroyed. There's no way for me to contact anyone.

Perfect drone for a budget.

I had been searching for a decent drone for months, but didn't not want to spend hundreds of dollars. So I came across the Bebop. I checked the specs and reviews and it was a winner, and I found one for $99 yes!!! The battery life is not 20mins but I did receive 2 batteries so it's about 20mins with both batteries. I had purchased a Yuneec 4k previously and I returned it because of connection issues, in comparison the bebop is the better drone overall to me. The con with the bebop is the app produced by the parrot company is useless because it crashes, as soon as I hit the takeoff it crashes, thankfully I adjusted the settings on my first flight to about 3ft in altitude and because the app never worked I literally grab it out the air and turned it off manually, I don't think I damaged anything. I have an android phone running Oreo 8 (Nokia 6). It's a third party app available but I haven't tried it. My wife has an iPhone and the app doesn't crash when I use her phone, so hopefully they fix the issues with android

Fairly robust

Fun product and fairly robust. I have crashed it a number of times and it still works. One of the batteries was DOA and tech support would replace it but it was to much of a hassle and I gave up. I use a tablet to control mine and it works okay. Dose take forever to connect. I would suggest that you read the online info and make sure you set up flight parameters before you take your first flight.

Next time I'd save
by Patrick Logan (4 out of 5 stars)

Maybe I should have saved my money. This still seems like a toy, not the upper-entry level device I was hoping for. The interface is nice and the camera works well. The wifi connection is a little hokey. Despite getting 2 batteries with the device, one crapped out after only a few uses. Each battery is good for less than 10 minutes, too bad.

A lot of features. We did not try all yet. Comes with 2 batteries each one runs about 7 min. After that you need to recharge.
