Performed well for the first hour or so UNTIL...

Just got my Pocket Shot today along with 2 packages of 3/8 and 1 package of 1/4 steel slingshot ammo. The Pocket Shot provided all the power and eas of use that it advertised, and right away I was able to hit a 9inch by 9 inch box from 30 feet away pretty regularly. I then tried shooting at a beer can with limited success. It felt a bit like luck when I hit it, but was very satisfying. On the DOWNSIDE, both pouches developed holes in them within the first hour or so (see photo below). I was trying to pinch "above" the ball, as instructed in the Pocket Shot youtube videos, but the holes developed rapidly anyway. I have used probably 30 of the 3/8 and 100 of the 1/4 ammo, so the longevity of the pouches should be considered. Looks like you may have to buy many, many extra pouches if you want to shoot this regularly. I am going to give the Pocket Shot 3 stars because of this. If the pouches would have lasted, I would have given 5 stars easily, because the product does exactly as advertised. Knocking it down 2 stars may seem harsh, but nobody wants to have to keep ordering replacement parts every single day for something like this, and it could be especially devastating in a survival situation.

Purchased 2 for my kids. Both had holes in the one the first day. My kids ended up making their own with Gatorade lids and balloons and they held up longer. Waste of $50

not exactly durable but good idea

Not meant for normal use. It wears quickly and produced a hole making it useless with under 60 shots. Not reliable will not recommend. It is kinda fun to shoot though.

Excellent for shooting yourself. Not for much else

Cool idea. But if you hold it how it's depicted... you will shoot your own hand. And if you got ceramic shot like I did... it's going to hurt very badly

A detailed Pocket Shot review

Overall a pretty good purchase! I got mine a few days ago and I've already used it a lot.

The pouch wearing is a real thing, although after going through about 200 mini marshmallows/airsoftBB's/daisy slingshot ammo it hasn't broken yet, it wears on the outside of the pouch from rubbing against your fingers when you pull back and let it go. If the pouch breaks, you can get a replacement pouch for it. For ammo I use the Daisy Powerline 1/4 in. premium steel slingshot ammo, perfect size and a ball can go 350 FPS if shot correctly. It seems hard to shoot at first but when you get used to it you can shoot accurately and with a lot of power!

When it comes it has the pocket shot that already has a black 300 FPS pouch on it, but includes a blue pro pouch that shoots up to 350 FPS.

The difference is the black pouch is less powerful but more durable.

Mini Marshmallows are a MUST HAVE to shoot with it. I've shot half of a bag of them already and they go about 20 yds. on a good shot. Perfect for a marshmallow war.

Small game? Maybe

Self Defense? No

Target practice? Yes

Paintball? No

Airsoft? Yes

Marshmallows? Yes

Shooting for the fun of shooting? YES

I've had not had problems.

I've had this slingshot for two years. I've probably shot it 200 times. I use it to scare Canadian geese out of my yard. My targets are usually 30 yards to 100 yards over water. I'm not trying to kill anything or do target practice. It is easy to use, but not terribly accurate, but for my usage in the ball park is fine. I have a standard dual tube, hunting-type slingshot, and although more durable most probably, it is not much more accurate. I also do not pull the pocket back to its limit. Even then it will shoot 80 + yards in a lofted trajectory. The ceramic shot are about the same as steel. Slightly bigger, but less dense.

The sleeve broke in like literally one day. Also, super hard to aim.

Fun and compact. Not for the serious

It is a.lot of fun and it's compact design is a great feature. But if you want something accurate you will need to purchase the handle. Also if you want to shoot arrows you will need the arrow kit. If you are a serious user you may want to lookk at other models by the time you purchase all the upgrades the cost is about the same. Also the pouches wear out quickly. But if you want a cheap easy to carry sling shot buy the basic model.

A Toy and More

This is fun to shoot foam balls and pompoms with for fun. I amuse the cat that way.

But it's also forceful and accurate enough to use as a weapon with solid round pellets or ball bearings or shot, especially with the handle attachment. You could definitely use it to shoot small game at close range. Since I travel a lot to places which may have a lot of crime but limited legal self-defense options, I like being able to take this anywhere.

Nice product

I use this with the nerf balls during nerf wars. With the nerf balls, I have at least triple the range as any other nerf guns. It shoots them hard enough to hit poeple pretty hard from the other side of a basketball court and they have no idea what hit them. Only one shot can be shot at a time accuracy takes some practice, but everyone asks what it is and where I got it. Reload is not really fast, so close range nerf combat is tricky. Overall, a pretty neat product.
