Hardware is fine, software not so muchby thowell (4 out of 5 stars)

The hardware itself is just fine; works as indicated and met all expectations. I did say hardware. The big failure is on the recommended software; it doesn't work with my google Nexus. However, I found another endoscope WiFi application in the Google Play Store (Wohler) that worked perfectly. I'll admit I may have issues if I ever want to use the endoscope with a laptop but that's an issue I'll chase if and when it happens.
The cable has a nice firmness that holds it's position. If bends fairly easily. I like the fact that it uses AA batteries instead of those built in rechargeable ones; you simply replace worn batteries and keep on working; you have the option of using Ni-Cads if recharge ability is important.
I bought this particular endoscope because of the cable. The lower priced devices "appeared" to have a less capable cable and I've learned that you typically get what you pay for.
Worked great first time!

Worked great first time! I was worried about buying the 3M scope but it came in handy the first time. I tried it with both my iPhone and iPad without any problem. My only request would be to the software developers. Please provide an on-screen way to rotate the image while using the scope. There is a "rotate" button but it didn't have any effect.
5 Stars - Effective, Efficient, and Economical

Worked with my iPhone 6+ straight out of the box, with very easy set up.There are other, cheaper options, but none offer the very convenient handset. The led at the end of the scope is adjustable and it's worth experimenting with different light settings to get the image that best suits your purpose. I used it to examine inside of water cooling tube on my vintage car, and was able to see the high degree of corrosion and build up that was causing problems. It was easy to save an image of what I was seeing on the screen (not a pretty sight), which is something a much more expensive Bosch borescope that I bought a coupe of years ago, cannot do. This borescope performs well, and is excellent value for money.
Good for what I needed

bought this to check out issues with the line from my home to the septic tank. Likes / dislikes
Likes:
Small size. Links easily to iPhone with app downloaded from App Store. I also like the ability to capture what I am seeing for playback or emailing to contractor. I had it up and running in less than 10 minutes
Includes a mount /clamp to hold your phone. I ended up just setting the phone to the side and watching while I manipulated the probe.
10ft probe. Was thinking it may be too short, but for what I need it is just right.
Probe is semi rigid so you can flex it in to the position you want when feeding it down a pipe.
Multiple tips for more flexibility in use.
Not using the integrated charging port on phone. A plus for me in that it hooks up via wifi and not a hard cable back to the phone. I can use this with my iPhone or Android tablet.
Dislikes:
Light is integrated to base unit. You need to get creative on how you hold it when shining it down a hole. Would like light on the end of the probe. It may have this feature, but I have yet to find it.
First time using it, I would have like to have had another set of hands to point the light down the pipe while feeding in the probe. Can be solved by using a headlamp next time.
Even though I like the 10' probe, holding the light, feeding it down the pipe and watching the screen demanded more hands than what I had available. Being rigid has its pro's and con's, the con being that when you are working by yourself, getting it to go where you want can be a challenge.
Overall I give it 4 stars. For the price it is a good unit
A Great Borescope

Worked as expected right out of the box.
Pros:
It sends pics and videos directly to my iPhone via Bluetooth and App
It has a the longer cord that other borescopes
The cord is flexible, but stiff enough that it can be shaped as needed for hard to reach areas
The adjustable light makes it possible to avoid overexposure when viewing or taking pictures
The phone holder keeps the phone mounted securely to the handle without interfering with buttons on the phone
Cons:
Can't really list one
Essential, Excellent Tool

I just finished running 5,200' of CAT6, 200' of RG6, and 100' of HDMI cable throughout my home. It would have been impossible, if not disasterous without this device. I found copper water pipes, romex, junction boaxes, and fire blocks with this cam. I was able to provide guidance to my assistant when drilling into walls from above. The clarity and illumination are great. Battery life and durability are excellent too. The cable was at times too long for some of the places I needed to go. This meant some juggling of the base unit (like handling a snake). It was both stiff and flexible allowing for good manipulation in the 0 - 4' range. However, for very long (2 meter) insertions, I had to tape it to a fiberglass push rod or push it through a pvc conduit to get it where I wanted it because it would sag. Attachmnet to the rod was helpful though as I could see the hook on it's end and the pull line loop in front of it. I didn't try the PC software. I had some trouble recording video on my iPhone and later realized the batteries were low. Pics were no problem. The power switch goes from a glowing blue to red when the batteries are low. I think the long length makes this very useful in pipes. Nevertheless, it is useful at any length. It's just a matter of convenience if you want a shorter one for the kind of work you are doing. BTW, I used this with an iPhone 6+. At times the phone was 10-12' from the base and was still communicating with it.
(I lost the mirror, magnet, & hook grab kit that came with it. Can't comment on these. Hope I can find and buy a replacement.)

Really, I love this, for what I needed it for. The depth of field is shallow, so you have to get it at just the right distance, but man when you need to see inside or behind something, this really solves the problem. Very nice integration with my iPhone. Price was reasonable. Works well enough to high recommend if you need something similar. The light is adjustable, which is really nice. The resolution is good, but not superb. Maybe I haven't cleaned the lens well enough. But it's good enough to see what you need to see.
App Crashes- contacted seller with no luck

The app keeps crashing after 5-10 seconds of camera footage. I got it as a Christmas gift for a family member and was really let down. We tried installing the app on two different phones with no success. I contacted the seller and got a reload the app message which was completely useless to me.
Great camera-flexible yet stiff cable

I'm very pleased. Got this to look in walls and ducting. You need to follow set-up directions carefully. (They're not difficult.) took about 1-2 minutes for my phone to pick up the transmission from the scope. When it did it was very clear. The cable is fkexible but stiff enough you can fish it thru multiple holes in the wall. The point of focus is about 3 inches and is very clear. The picture on my iphone was great. You do NOT need to be in cell range or in wifi to use. I love this feature for out in the field. Plus I can take pics. I purchased another scope here on Amazon that was junk and I sent it back. This one is a keeper.
This is a Tool and not a Toy

This unit is very convenient to use. The WiFi connection allows use with your iPhone for portability. You can use it with your iPad for larger images or with your laptop for higher resolution. The cable is vinyl coated flexible wrapped steel making it protective, bendable, while holding its shape. The camera is shrouded in steel, protecting it and also has a "valley" allowing the "tools" to clamp on and therefore not move or pull off while using. The fact that it has its own power supply, an on/off switch, adjustable light brightness and a solid cable connection sold me. By the way the cable is replaceable if damaged and therefore also up-gradable for the future.
