Thus far I have had a great experience with these headphones. I'm a 47 yr old male who secretly wants to be a raver. When I saw these over the weekend at Brookstone (Mall Store), I recognized them from the Kickstarter and grabbed a pair of the purple without hesitation. The sound is nice and rich. I use it for PC gaming through a Plantonics Rig set up and it's amazing. Photo included to show I'm not kidding. lol

B-day gift for my 8 year old girl and she absolutely loved it! She plays on her tablet and the laptop a lot and this has helped with the amount of noise inside the house. I would say that product is a well made set. The earphones are very cushy and comfortable. I highly recommend for any gamer or cat lover out there. The speakers on the ear were loud enough that I had to ask to lower the volume. The lights were pretty bright in dark.

Update!!! 12-09-2018

Still operational 18 months later. Owner was 8 when she first received it as bday present and now she's 9.5. I say it is worth it and I'm contemplating purchasing another one for her sister.

Let me start off with I absolutely love these headphones. They're cute, comfortable, and have good quality sound and mic output. And I'd love to keep getting them, but this is the second pair I've had that's broken within six months of use.

The first pair simply stopped working after 6 months. No obvious reason why. They just quit on me. No sound whatsoever. I called customer service and they replaced them for free. <3 thanks guys! Genuinely love Brookstone's customer service for their prompt response. They're the reason why I'm not putting one star.

Maybe I have some bad luck. About five to six months later, the left earpiece just popped out. I was plugging in the mic at the time and heard a crack and had my earpiece dangling in from the headband, held on by a thin wire. I'm not sure what caused this. I didn't do anything that I saw that could have popped it out or broken it. I was only plugging in the mic.

This brings me to why I'm writing a review. I genuinely loved this headset and am sad to see another set break within six months. The problems I'm experiencing are common headset problems, but not on headsets that are only six months old. These are problems that happen after years of wear and tear.

I would buy another but I don't want to be disappointed in another six months.

Didn't even last a year! No more sound in the left ear at all! Very disappointed.

Reading other reviews and sites reveals that this is a common issue due to poor internal wiring. Furthermore Brookstone won't acknowledge the problem or take responsibility for it. I contacted them, and all they said was that they were not legally obligated to help.

Guess who isn't shopping at Brookstone for Christmas anymore!

I love my cat ear head phones!!! So glad I didn't buy the cheap ones! I love that I can turn the lights on and off! The mic is detachable, so this product is great for gaming or even if you want to use while talking on the phone!!! They really fit my personality. I got mine in blue. One thing (I may have just failed to notice when purchasing) is that Brookstone provides an amazing hard carrying case to protect them while not in use. Product folds up nicely. All cords are detachable. Cords DO NOT twist or tangle. Mic is stiff but bendable. The ears are actual external speakers! And maybe this is just because I don't know how yet, but I do wish I could control the volume of the headphones vs. the external speakers rather than them being the same. They do block noise effectively, however, you can only have the speakers as loud as you can handle having it in your ear. You can, of course, take them off and use them like a portable speaker, but where's the fun in that? I can't dance very well with them on or bend over without having to hold on because they threaten to slip off. The ear covers twist, so you don't have to worry about your ears being uncomfortable. It's a really well made set, well worth the money as long as you take good care of it! I WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND THIS FOR IRRESPONSIBLE CHILDREN. Older teens and adults yes. Oh and one question I constantly had before buying was, how was the sound quality? I was so worried about spending so much and then getting crappy quality because music is my life, and I spend a ton of money on music every year! The quality is amazing! You don't have to worry!

My review still holds; as long as you take care of them and handle with care, they will be an awesome headset for a long, long time. I've been using them almost daily for four months now.

I saw these about a year ago at a convention and had wanted a pair for myself ever since. I opted for green to match my Razer keyboard, and the color is very nice and vibrant when you turn them on. It's not quite the neon-green shown in the pic, but the shade is nice! Sound quality is some of the best I've had (dare I say it, better than Beats?). I'm noticing a lot of more subtle noises now when I watch videos or play games. The speakers also work great, I can set these on top of my PC and use them as plain old speakers when I don't feel like wearing them.

The mic, though, is a bit weird. I misread and thought this would have two separate jacks coming off of the cord, so I bought completely the wrong adapter. The way it works is you actually plug the mic into the side of the headphones so there's just one cord by default. I think I can still rig this to work on my consoles, and I have a Blue Snowball mic on the PC so no worries there.

Wearing them is actually quite comfy thanks to all the cushions it has on it, just be prepared to turn your media down a bit if you want to hear yourself talk. Overall these are both stylish and very functional! The only drawback is that these things aren't bluetooth/wireless, but I don't really mind the wire when I'm on the go since I usually just thread it through my shirt.

WOW. The first thing I noticed was the bass. When I listen to music I have never heard the bass that much befor but with these headphones I can hear everything. When you have them on without playing anything you will hear background noise but once your playing a game or listening to music with that sound playing on the headphones you will not hear a thing. The sound was so great I love it. The product presentation was amazing. The case is nice and sturdy and has a mold for the headphones already. (This comes with a case at least it did for me) All the lights were functional. The mic is a dollar store material so I suggest if you want this with a mic for gaming go out and buy a separate mic and use that instead. The AUX cable, mic, and charger are detachable. Great product worth every cent I'm so suprised of how cheap this is considering how amazing the product came out for Me. 5 stars. Best headphones I have ever owned. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

What a waste of money

Not only did I pay an extra $20 just so I could have the red color, the headphone hinge broke with little to no use at all. This is about a week after opening them, and leaving them at my computer's desk side. I tried getting the warranty plan from Brookstone after I bought these, but they wouldn't allow me because I didn't buy directly from them. Do yourself a favor and buy directly from their site, not here. What a waste of money.

The headphones themselves are great, but after a few days of usage, the sounds are starting to cut out with static.

Update: It's now been exactly two months, and they are completely inoperable. No sound at all, one of the stems that hold the actual speaker in place is broken, and the lights are faded. I am returning it.

I've had these headphones (purple) for four months now and I've had no problems with them. I've been looking forward to the Axent Wear cat ear headphones for several years and I was excited to finally be able to buy them. The speakers work great, the lights all still work and they're super comfortable. I was worried that my headphones would have issues, but so far I've had no problems and I'm so madly in love with these headphones. They're my favorite pair of headphones!

Update: I've had my Cat Ear Headphones for over a year now and there are still NO issues with the headphones. The lights are still working and haven't gone out and despite a little wire issue (cuz I dropped my phone and yanked the plug-in out). Still in love with my headphones and I'm so happy I got them.
