If setting up corporate firewall isn't for you, consider this product.by Highboost145 (4 out of 5 stars)

I was debating between setting up ASA 5505 or going with CUJO. Of course CUJO is more cost-effective and easier to set up, not to mention the Machine Learning capability (I was instantly drawn to this selling point).
It's true what you read on the review. I had to call customer support to get the DHCP mode to work. I think the trick here for the CUJO folks is automating the DHCP set up. If they can do that, they are looking at solid product that anybody can use.
As for the form factor, I would prefer it to be flat, rectangular shape (easier to place on top of my many other... flat devices it sits on).
Also, I would prefer black over white, because white plastic always finds a way to get discolored into feint yellow.
One thing I might add, there was a horrible power surge at my house recently. And of course, my CUJO AC adaptor appeared compromised (it was plugged in next to another AC adaptor that actually melted from the power surge). I contacted CUJO and asked for replacement adaptor, as generic adaptors didn't work. They were kind enough to send me a replacement adaptor. It took a few days, but the company actually followed through on their promise. This is a great attribute for a start-up company.
Great idea, but serious flaws -- repeatedly locks up

UPDATE AUGUST 2017: I now own two Cujos. One for me and one for an elderly family member. Both are in different geographic locations. Unfortunately, both are now repeatedly failing. At random intervals, the Cujo begins blocking all web traffic. DNS queries, ping, and FTP still work, but every HTTP connection gets reset. The end result is that I can ping any website, but I can't actually visit it.
If I bypass Cujo by launching a VPN session, everything begins working immediately. But if I disconnect the VPN, everything stops working.
I've been working with Cujo support over the past few weeks and have gotten nowhere. The fact that this happens to two different Cujos on two completely different networks in two completely different physical locations, combined with the fact that I can temporarily resolve the issue by launching a VPN, tells me that the issue is clearly with the Cujo.
Unfortunately I purchased a lifetime subscription for both Cujos. I now regret that and wish I had gone with a different vendor. I no longer recommend Cujo.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'm docking two stars because you have no control over what data they collect. You can't review it and you can't clear it. Not only that, but CUJO's terms listed on their website are only for the website; there's no way to see the terms associated with the device or its related service. That means there is no transparency as to what data they're collecting, how long they're archiving it, or who they're selling it to and/or sharing it with. I'm sure they'd come back and say it's shared only with "trusted partners", but that could mean anyone. And because they give you no way to remove your information, you're trusting them to keep it secure in perpetuity; there's apparently no point at which your data gets deleted. It seems they keep it (and keep sharing it) forever.
I'm docking another star because of the use of mandatory binding arbitration. In simple English, this means that you agree to never sue them no matter what, even if they break the law. You can opt out of this arbitration, and I strongly encourage everyone to do so, but only within the first 30 days. They do this because if they fail to protect your data properly and get breached, they don't want you holding them responsible. It's a shady business practice, and something I'm definitely going to keep in mind when they ask me to renew.
All in all this isn't a bad idea, but there are better, more transparent, less expensive options out there.
... to protect my home network as I have a smart home. Counting computers/phones/ipad/kindle/thermos

I knew I wanted a hardware firewall to protect my home network as I have a smart home. Counting computers/phones/ipad/kindle/thermostat/cameras/lights etc there are more than 25 items on my network.
I looked at several items and this one appears to be the best in terms of what it does and the critical app (on iphone) that controls it. Bitdfender Box has had some apparent issues with their app and Cujo's app appears to work well.
BEFORE I purchased I called Cujo and spoke with a tech support person (Iggy M) who was great. He really answered all my questions and helped put my mind at ease that this device was not difficult to set up and would not "mess up" my router or my network.
I ordered the device on a Friday, received it the next day and Iggy spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me helping me configure device and MAKING SURE it was working.
SO FAR, SO GOOD. I had one attempted hack picked up 3 days ago which was blocked and I was notified.
Amazon now has the device for $23 less than when I bought it. WIsh I had ordered it now.
Needed Customer Service help to setup, but works great now.

I mostly work from home and and ordered CUJO as an added layer of protection for the highly sensitive information I store in devices on my home network. At first, CUJO was not able to identify all my devices but after speaking with someone at their Customer Service it seems to be working well. I have not noticed any drop in my Internet speed, it's something I'am watching closely. The device itself was easy to set up and looks great in my home. So far, so good.
GREAT Customer Service!

I ordered this and ran it awhile before deciding that it wasn't what I was looking for, for reasons that I won't get into here (Let's just say I wanted more configuration power). I pre-purchased a year's worth of service and they were happy to refund me the money when I explained the situation.
The customer service was fantastic and while it wasn't right for me, I definitely think home users who want a device and service to help protect their home without having to fuss with anything should give this a try. The setup was easy peasy and it's not an eye-sore for the living room. It did the job and it will only get better as they continue to tune it.
If you're looking for a product with some beef to it and some granular visibility, this is not the product for you.

I rarely write reviews, but have to for this. I opened my CUJO box around 830pm yesterday and had spent about 5 minutes starting to set it up. Before I even knew that my setup was wrong, my phone rang (that's why they ask for your number when you sign up for an account). A customer service representative had already spotted an issue and then spent the next hour walking me thru fixing it. And once it was set up, I received an email from the CEO thanking me and providing his email and phone number for feedback. He responded to my request for Alexa and IFTTT integration within hours. So, no, this wasn't the easiest to get set up in my case, but you can't beat such proactive service. Plus in the last 18 hours the CUJO has already blocked 3 threats!

This product is made well and is easy to set up. You do need a smart phone or tablet to used with this device. I pretty much followed the directions and I works without an issue. Now all of my devices, TV's, and devices or appliances that connect to the internet are protected. One last thing to note, mine was it was designed and manufactured in the USA. Customer support is in the US and is quick to respond.

I have the eero router and the combination of that and my cable modem ISP required special setup. Customer service worked tirelessly with me on my schedule to get my CUJO up and running. It is now successfully monitoring my network and blocking suspicious activity and notifying me when it does. Awesome product and incredibly awesome customer service. They will help you, don't hesitate to reach out to them if you experience setup issues.

Hi;
I must say that it is a plug-and-play device if we follow the instructions on CUJO website.
I did my installation as Direct Connection on my router (Asus RT-AC5300).
Done in 10 minutes !!!
No impact on router speed.
Just Great !

Works as intended and they are still working on improving it. Great customer service, never miss a beat with these people. I would recommend this to anyone looking to start a smart home and being protected. This coupled with VPN and Avira has been great so far.
