Only complaint, the base of the book ends should be longer giving a better leverage for all types of books.
Cute decoration, but not a functional bookstand

I still love the idea of this, but it is not a functional bookend. Once enough books have been arranged on the stand to make it hold, you can never use them unless you want to re-arrange the structure every time. The stand can not support its own weight, let alone a book and a supergirl.

My eldest daughter is a superhero freak. Like many people, me included. The bookends are FANTASTIC! Sturdy, pleasing to view and a great conversation starter. It was the best birthday gift ever. Well, at least this year :)

The books slide out from the bottom - could really use a peg to hold them from both sides

Books slide off of the far end of this book end. The metal figure does not hover; it hits the shelf. The metal figure makes a decent fridge ornament. And when the metal sheet is forcefully bent to 90 degrees, it works as a regular book end.
