Product Description

The Star Wars XXL Light-Up Beach Ball is a monster size inflatable pool toy that looks like the infamous Death Star space station from the Star Wars movies! When the ball lights up on impact, it shows off the cool detailing, especially at night. So go ahead and try to smack it into the outer rim, or if you lack Jedi powers, just toss it to your friend across the pool. We won't judge. Measures approximately 31 inches across when inflated. Non-replaceable button cell batteries included. Sold individually. For kids age 3 and older.

Features

  • STAR WARS THEME: That's no moon! Add some fun to your party with this oversized Death Star graphic beach ball!
  • LIGHT-UP: This inflatable contains super bright LED lights inside which illuminate each time you hit the ball
  • PARTY READY: Perfect for themed pool, beach, and birthday parties or just every day fun! LED lights allow the fun to continue into the night

Thats no moon

Awesome, it does light up with a small white strobe when you hit the ball. I brought the ball with me to Endor for some pictures... It was pretty epic. Shipped out fast, received it the following day.

it looks like this was returned by a previous customer

Editing my review after returning the original purchase and reordering from Terry Kinder. Second product is new, unopened, and actually a beach ball. That lights up! Bonus, it was (for some unknown reason) cheaper than the first ball.

So, beware who you order from.

Listing claims this is a beach ball. It's even shown with frolicking children for scale! Don't believe the photos, those children must be animated dolls. This "beach ball" is no more than 4 inches across. To add insult to injury, the d*mn thing doesn't even light up. Oh, and the packaging was all messed up, it looks like this was returned by a previous customer. Kind of like I'll be doing.

Terrible product
by Haley Bennett (1 out of 5 stars)

On the day of my son's 7th birthday party we took this ball out of the box. My husband and I both tried to inflate it but we couldn't get any air in it. We discovered that the mouth piece (where you blow in the air) had not been punctuated in the manufacturing process so there was no way to get air into the ball. My husband took the ball to his workshop and was able to poke a small hole in the mouth piece and we began to fill it with air. Unfortunately, that was when we realized that there was a hole in the bottom of the ball and the air was leaking back out. My son was quite disappointed as he wanted to be able to play with this with his friends.

Brand New 'Classic' Size Death Star Died! (Had Holes)
by Matt Russell (1 out of 5 stars)
September 24, 2018

Like many other reviewers, my Death Star was truly dead... it had holes. This did not happen after an epic battle (unless it somehow lost a battle with UPS en route), I blew it up, next morning more than half the air was gone. I know they provide a kit to fix leaks, but this is a brand new product that other reviewers have clearly noted had problems... I should have considered this more carefully. As it stands I did not have time to find and fix tiny holes before I needed to use this, so the kid got a Death Star that will deflate the next day... perhaps his parents will blame Legos as well? ;)

XXL of Fun!
by Ayla (5 out of 5 stars)

As I opened the package, my box and ball inside were in perfect condition and the ball was ready to be inflated! The size I ordered was the XXL! Which adds even more fun to the beach ball experience. For anyone ordering this size... I would recommend you use an air pump for inflation. I don't own an air pump... even one by hand... and I was wishing I did! This beach ball doesn't disappoint in size! Once I had it all blown up, I was really impressed by how large it is! The light inside makes it even more fun to bounce back and forth with family and friends! Or if you want... use it for a night party or evening pool party! The light adds a really fun quality to it and the way the Death Star lights up gives it a really stellar feel! For anyone looking to have a good time and a lot of laughs, order this enormous beach ball... It's guaranteed amusement!

Fun in the dark!
by John Strock (5 out of 5 stars)

Given the mixed reviews, I was hesitant to order these. We had no problem with them. Make sure you check the size of the item, there are regular and extra-large. I wanted the regular size which is the size of a beach ball and I ordered 5. We used an air-compressor to inflate and they were perfect. They work best in the dark, with the lights on you can't really see them light up. We had a dark dance floor at our Star Wars party and the kids threw them around for a very cool effect. They were surprisingly durable, they survived the entire night being kicked, thrown and yes, even bounced on by a 3 year old! We managed to keep one but the rest went home with the guests. They loved them. I don't know how long the light will last, and once it dies, I don't think there is anyway to replace the battery. So consider them to have a limited life-span. I was very happy with this purchase.

This ball was a big hit at my son's Star ...

This ball was a big hit at my son's Star Wars themed birthday and survived an entire 8 hour day in a bouncy house with 15 kids without losing any air. It also never got old saying "Thats no moon!"

Awesome, and pretty sturdy

We bought this as a prop for our Star Wars party. I'm glad i had a pump available, because it is BIG! The kids loved playing with it. It rolled into the woods a few times, but didn't pop. It's been outside for a few days now, and has lost a little bit of air, but it came with a patch, so once it dries I plan on patching it and putting it away for the next one! (The light was a fun surprise when it got dark. ) It held a small child on it without bursting! (About 40#)

Save your money

This ball is so cute and it was great - for one day. My sons played with it in the pool but by the next day it was completely deflated. They were not playing with it unusually hard so I have no idea why this happened. And it wasn't a small hole that could be patched, it was a tear along the seam that is impossible to fix. It also stopped lighting up within an hour of us inflating the ball. Save your money.

and he was disappointed with it
by debra marroquin (3 out of 5 stars)

This is nothing more than a cheap novelty toy, not really worth the price. This is something that should be in the Dollar Store. It isn't really made well for a beach ball. It was difficult to blow up, and the light wasn't that bright. It isn't a toy to play with in the daytime if you want to see the light. My partner is a Star Wars fan, and he was disappointed with it. He said it looked like they had just printed out copies of the design, and didn't bother to align them properly to the shape of the ball. Maybe with a redesign, the company could sell the toy to Star Wars fans, but the way it is designed right now is very poor, and I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.
