First, the hardware and the product is awesome. Extremely high quality, much better than anything you'd get at a hardware store and simple. If you were to price it out, this is a great deal. In a perfect set up, this will install very easy. As anyone who has done a project will say though, it never goes as planned. Everyone always post when something installs easy, but not when they run into some issues. So I figured I'd share my experience to possibly help someone else. In my master bathroom I had two, 2 foot wide doors that opened into the bathroom. One door when opened blocked a sink the other the toilet. Most ridiculous design ever, pocket doors should have been installed. My plan was to remove the existing doors, mount the hardware and have barn doors, opening up the bathroom space. The plan pretty much worked.. eventually. I purchased the 8 foot rail and extra door hangers. In the end an 8 foot rail with two, 2 foot doors fit almost perfectly. Just to help out future DIY'ers and for entertainment, here are the issues I ran into. First, studs. I live in townhouse. It's not a junk one.... fairly nice but the builder must have been drunk. My studs are 13, 11 to 16, to half inches all throughout the wall. Completely ridiculous. I used a stud finder, started marking and then started scratching my head. The rail for the hardware is pre-drilled at 16 inches apart. This leaves you no options, your screws have to go in the wall 16 inches apart, or install a header. Keep in mind a header will set your door further off the wall. In hindsight, you could drill some new holes in the rail if you needed to also. Using the instructions, I had 80 inch doors, added the appropriate height, to include the rail and ran into a new problem. The height of the rail was running right over my existing molding. I knew this was going to happen, and as I planned the molding solved my stud issue. This is because behind the molding should be the door frame with 2 by 4s behind the molding and drywall.... not in my house. The door frame was 2 inches higher than the molding. My kid could have built this wall better. So this completely threw off the proper height of my door. I had to bring it up in order to hit wood in the wall. And because my studs weren't 16 inches apart, I had to rely on the framing. Bringing the height up would later cause me another problem. As you can see, my plan was falling apart. Each problem and solution, created a new one. This wasn't the hardware's fault tho

Great product and great price point. Pretty easy to install but definitely need two people to install. Must be level for sure! All the hardware needed are included in the kit. I had to use a header for the rail because the door headers and studs were not going to line up. Luckily there was a house in our neighborhood being built was the same plan so I was able to see the inside layout to make the final decision. The door is very large at 42" wide and 100" tall so needed the extra support anyway plus I think the header finishes the look we were going for.

This is my 2nd hardware kit from Industrial By Design. Installed on my 2nd barn door in my new house. It is great hardware and the customer service is top notch. I wish all companies were as customer driven as these folks are!! Everyone that sees my 2 barn doors loves the look of the hardware that I used. So glad I bought these instead of the cheaper ones! Installation is easy with the instructions that come with it and the youTube video they send you is very helpful. The hardware has a beautiful matte black finish that is superb quality; quiet, super smooth rolling hardware. I had 3 "cubbies" that I wanted to make better use of so I turned 2 into closet space (kept the center open for TV). Wanted to keep them covered without putting up plain-jane bi-fold doors and this worked beautifully! Have had them for just over a month, I use the doors every day and I love them!

Great quality, great instructional video. This was my first barn door install and everything worked perfectly. I installed another one a week after. No surprises, this kit is well put together. Rolls extremely well, well packaged. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra 30-40$ from the cheap kits and get this one.

Simple and easy..Loved the quality..Project to replace two bi-fold doors in a 52" door opening. Actual door was 54" x 7' and made out of #2 wood for weight purposes. Most difficult task was making the door because the Hardware Kit was a breeze. Had to drill new holes due to our slanted roofs/walls.

This kit is perfect for a heavy barn door. It arrived in 2 days. The instructions were great, but the installation video was awesome to watch before assembly. It explained and showed how to put it together and install perfectly. Super great quality!!! I highly recommend this product!

The instructions were super easy to follow and their customer service is fantastic! Our studs were not the same width as the predrilled holes in the rail and the seller offered great advice to add a header board and then mount the rail to it. See photo for finished product! The finish is a perfect matte black. Door, handle, and latch not included in package but inexpensive to buy separately (found at Lowes).
