Printed 100+ pancakes over two weeks.

Purchased two of The PancakeBot for school. Students loved the design aspect (they had to draw plant cells), and we printed them off 10 at a time in 40 minutes chunks over the next couple of weeks. Kids took picture and labeled their drawings for a grade. Had no problems, once you take the time to understand the machine.

I love the creativity you can express with this. I had some doubts but with time and patience I was able to thoroughly enjoy the process. Be prepared to work out the timing and temperatures for the perfect pancake. My husband had to help me figure out a couple things that the manual should have noted such as the first time you start it up, make sure the batter gizmo is set To one of the sides. There is a contact there that it must meet in order to work. Also, make sure you place the cap on the dispenser before powering down the unit down or your batter will leak out. Overall, I had fun with this and think I will use it for desserts. Maybe a movie night and create movie themed pancakes and serve with ice cream and toppings.

Okay, so I saw this item on Amazon after speaking with colleagues about its capabilities and was like what the heck is this thing! To say the least I bought it for my kids to sleep over and have to say that she told me this was the talk of the town in her elementary school. It was really exciting the little kiddos play with this and the patterns were amazing. Very interesting as I thought this would be a great way to get them introduced the real concept of 3d printing using real materials! To say the least, they are loving this thing!!

This pancakebot is super fun. I got it as an early father's day gift for my husband and he and the kids are having a blast. The program to design the pancakes is super easy to use and will help you convert any picture you want to pancake form so the kids won't be disappointed. Watching it work was super cool and had that kind of awesome sit back and someone else cooks feeling lol. And the result was delicious.

While I love what can be done in the classroom with the PancakeBot to enhance critical thinking across a wide range of subjects, the seeming apathy of the company behind it, prevents a five star review. This product can viewed in several ways. First, it's just plain cool to be able to print your own custom pancakes. But, when seen as an experiental platform it really comes into its own.

The experimentation begins with strategies for with coming up with the optimal batter consistency and is an excellent educational process... where things like viscosity, affects on volume, speed and color can be explored.

Before buying, it would be wise to check out the support forums to see what others have experienced. You will find links to some free 3D print files than you can download and which will solve some of the issues people have had. Plus, while the company selling the PancakeBot isn't exactly Johnny-on-the-spot with help, the inventor is ready to immediately do his best to see that we have a great user experience.

At YouthQuest Foundation, we plan to use the PancakeBot to introduce at-risk young people to a course in 3D printing and design. It's perfect for immediately capturing their attention. Besides, picture perfect pancakes or not, they can always eat the outcome!

There's not I like about this, over engineered griddle. It leaks, glitches while dispensing batter, takes forever to make a simple pancake, & the software is lacking in every way possible.

Please save your sanity & money by avoiding this product like the plague. Hire someone to make you pancakes every weekend or better yet buy them from the frozen section at your local grocery store.

Purchasing this puts you at a high risk of never trusting new technology again, as well as a trip to the doctor for those "˜mental health pills'. This was a device made for people that have nothing better to do with their time & money.

Still haven't had one stinking pancake from this torture- bot that was purchased in December 2018.

I use the Pancake Bot as a tool in the classroom to teach design thinking. This is a great prototype tool! It is a novelty machine that is not designed to mass produce pancakes, but will print sweet designs.

Great idea, but after many tests, I'm not sure it is possible to create a great print without many hours of testing to find the perfect thickness and heat combination. Even after that, parts of the print still run into issues.

Probably needs enclosure and temperature controlled extruded to even out the print.

Software likely needs to be a little smarter about speed of certain pieces of the image.
