I'm a big believer in HEPA filtration for my home thus I'm a big fan of this product.

I've attached some pictures of the first gen filter after approx 4600 hours of usage. Dyson recommends changing this filter after 4300 hours of usage. Notice the darkness of the old filter compared to the new one. At one point, the dark filter was just as white as the new filter!

This 2nd generation filter has multiple added layers of filter materials to further improve the filtration of your air. I can feel by just touching it that the new filter portion is overall a little bit thicker than the first gen filter yet it fits just as well as the first filter did into the Dyson Air Purifier.

My advise is to take the filter out of the Dyson and then take a high power vacuum and vacuum the outside of the filter every 60 days or so to help clear up some of the dust accumulation on the outside of the filter and to also extend the overall longevity of the filter.

Despite the steep price tag for the Purifier, There really isn't another air filter/Purifier on the market to compare it to. (I am now talking about the total cost of the air Purifier including the 2nd gen filter) I have put aside the cost of the Dyson Purifier and instead am focusing of the positive health benefits in knowing that I'm breathing fresh & pure HEPA+ filtrated air at night when the Dyson fan is facing me as I sleep.

I can now also control my Dyson air purifier through Amazon Alexa. "Alexa, ask Dyson for fan speed 6" :)

I felt like I was robbed.

I don't understand how this product can be priced the way it is. It is nothing more than a fan and a poor one at that. I don't think it performs nearly as well as products that are half the price. What good is it to have a HEPA filter if there is no air going through it; you might as well just set a filter on the counter and hope that dust collects on it.

The product quality is not close to the original. Dyson has always maintained industry leading quality so I was taken back by the "cheaping" of this filter. Emailed customer service who replied that is should work just fine. Disappointed. James Dyson please correct this quality issue. PS: I enjoy your other devices and appreciate the value of buying a premium device and getting a premium experience. This was a miss.

The Dyson pure cool me fan is a unique machine, combining the functions of a fan and an air purifier-both HEPA (particulate) and VOC (molecular). After 3 months of testing room fans, including testing a new round of 8 more in summer 2019, I'm sure the Dyson Pure cool me is the best choice for most people. It effectively circulates air directly on a person or couple without having to oscillate, is easy to place and control, and has a long track record of reliability, backed by a company warranty. This powerful, feature-packed fan was the quietest and easiest to clean of all I reviewed, however, it's more expensive than most. Its design is stunning, and it's worth considering if money's no object. At first glance, it may appear to be an overpriced gimmick, but in addition to being the quietest model I reviewed, it is one of the most powerful, easy to clean and maintain. It includes an elegant remote offering 10-speed settings so you can dial in exactly the right level of air movement. The stunning bladeless design and a small remote that magnetically clips to its side make this our favorite fan.

Pros: Elegant bladeless design offers superior performance.

Cons: No app to manipulate settings. You are stuck with a basic remote. You are limited to certain time settings. The color, gray on white, is not appealing. I wish Dyson a) let Amazon sell its more attractive gray on black colorway, b) offered more color varieties like all gold.

Note: Would be ideal if Dyson a) made the fan ios enabled for Apple Watch and Siri, rather than being forced to reach for a primitive control; b) offered more appealing colorways like all gold.

Purifying and Coolness

I recently bought a gift for myself to make the spring and summer high heat more bearable in my un air-conditioned upstairs bedroom. After successive days of 90 degrees, my bedroom stays at about 88 degrees, which makes it hard to sleep for Parker and me. When the pollen levels or wildfires affect the air coming through an open window, it is even worse! Because I have asthma and need to heed the air quality warnings, I bought a new Dyson Pure Cool Me Personal Purifying Fan. It is only room size and can cool from 1-10. So far, my allergies have been better at night and on either 1 or 2, I have a cool room. It is a Star Wars R2-D2 tech helper!

Defected product

Upon opening the shipment box which was in great condition, I was shocked to find the Dyson box full of slashes and holes. When we opened the box belonging to the Dyson Fan/purifier had no foam reinforcement, so it did not have any protection from the shipment trip it endured. The Dyson fan air purifier also had the plastic where the air is supposed to do through was not flush with the rest of the fan. I didn't bother to turn it on. I sent back to be returned. I'm so very disappointed.

Love the Dyson Air Purifier. It runs quietly in lower settings but has a convenient sleep timer to make sure it does not run all night. Considering upgrading next year to the one with Wifi link.

Used Filter or complete fake!

Gave off bad smell. Called Dyson who said they do not sell replacement filters on Amazon! Best case scenario this is a used filter that has been cleaned. Buy direct from Dyson the price is not that much higher and you will get a good NEW filter.

This is the new Dyson filter which came out recently for your Dyson Air Purifier. Actually saved a few dollars purchasing it here instead of from Dyson. Once you have the Dyson Link-if you use the air purifier for 24 hours a day, they have to be replaced every 6 months.
