Great product, perfect for long walks with my corgiby Mike (4 out of 5 stars)

Great product, perfect for long walks with my corgi. The only thing I found it was lacking is that the bottle part can freely swing in and out of the dish piece. This is sometimes annoying while holding it. The good news is that I found that if you take a rubber charity-style bracelet and put it around the bottle part, this fixes the problem!
The best travel water bottles I've owned!

I love these gulpy water dispensers. So much I have the 20 oz and the 10 oz. Both are the same, just the size is different. One thing to note is you can not thread int a standard water bottle into the holder.
I found this to be disappointing because a long day out will require to pour from a water bottle into this bottle. Not a deal breaker, it just would have been a lot more user friendly if it was interchangeable with standard disposable water bottles.
In the photo you'll see the 20 ounce size in the color green, where the 10 ounce version is the color blue.
Great water dispenser

Used one of these Gulpy water dispensers for 10 years with our previous boxer. It is very convenient to always have water supply and does not leak. We purchased 2 more for our new boxer puppies. This is perfect to carry in hot humid Florida. It's very easy for dogs to use and even share.I recommend this for anyone who has dogs.
Practical design, lacks durability

Good idea, but I wouldn't recommend using the flimsy belt clip. The second time I used it the clip broke, the bottle fell on the ground, and the drinking tray cracked. The clip is fused to the tray instead of being a separate piece, so it has very little give, and if it snaps it's going to break the tray just like in the photo. The bottle also leaks unless it's upright, no matter how tightly you screw on the cap. Considering this is a product intended for outdoor use, they should really use a better quality plastic that won't weaken with UV damage. A rubber gasket in the cap and a better-quality clip would be nice too.
On the other hand, the company's sending a replacement free of charge. I'm going to try adding a hose gasket to the inside of the cap and avoid using the clip because I really like the concept; it's nice not having to carry a separate bowl for my dog's water.
Truly awesome water device for dogs!

Gulpy is awesome, most dog owners who see it for the first time have the same opinion.
Easy to hold and dispense water for your thirsty dog. Also multifunctional given it can easily be a water bottle for yourself. In the past for hikes I would carry some type of bowl for my dog, but with the Gulpy that isn't an issue.
Only suggestion I have is to make the latch a little softer and possibly wider. Carrying the thing by the latch seems to be hard on certain fingers due to size, and the latch can be wearisome given the hard plastic over time. I just wrapped some soft padding on mines, which eliminated this issue.
Your pups will be glad you did.

Wonderful little invention. We've used gulpy for several years for our two small dogs. We go hiking quite often and they ask for drinks, knowing their gulpy is at hand. Keeps them hydrated and happy, especially after a long bark session on a treed squirrel. We used the fabric collapsible bowls before this and they always ended up leaking after initial use. The gulpy doesn't leak as long as you close it with the easy fold-up hinge. They are plastic, so eventually we managed to crack the plastic of the bowl on our first one, but it was our dropping it too many times on asphalt at fault. Really a sturdy material and no plastic smell or off-gassing either. Notice that the prices will vary widely from different distributors and sometimes for different colors. This light green one was really cheap and the exact same quality as the blue one we bought previously for more money. Great product overall.
Perfect for walks or short runs

I take my dog out for trail runs with me and bought this bottle to keep her hydrated. It is so much easier than carrying a collapsible bowl in my camelback and having to pull it out, fill it out, trying to collapse it back down, blah blah blah. Using the bowl & camelback is fine for long runs with no pace goal, but for shorter, faster runs or group runs, this bottle is so much easier. The flip down lid creates a "bowl" for her to drink from and the design keeps the slobbery water from backwashing into the bottle so if I want a drink all I have to do is unscrew the top. Since you flip the bottle upside to use it, I never have any trouble squeezing water out enough if the volume gets low. The only drawback is I can't clip the bottle to my clothes since my run shorts are thin material and the bottle is fairly heavy when full. I wind up carrying the bottle in my hands which I don't really care for but that's just a personal preference. I just don't like holding things in my hand when I'm running but I would have this issue with any dog water bottle, not just this one.
OK water bottle, does the job for now

I bought this bottle to replace the separate water bottle + bowl I used to have to take on walks for my dog, so for that reason it's a good 2-in-1 solution. It's lightweight as well, so not overly heavy to carry around. So far it functions well - The water squirts out easily into the bowl/tray and my cocker spaniel finds it easy to drink out of.
My only issues are:
1) You have to bend over and hold it while the dog drinks - you can't rest it on the ground, which is a little inconvenient. If your dog only takes a couple of licks it's fine, but if your dog is a long drinker like mine, this can be a pain.
2) You also have to hold / angle it right so the water stays levels and doesn't tip out of the tray.
3) Because of the way the bowl folds over the bottle, you also can't stand it up on the counter etc. It can only lie on its side.
4) The tray lid doesn't screw on like an ordinary bottle, it kind of gets to a tight point and then becomes loose again as you keep turning it around. So you have to make sure you turn it to the tight notch otherwise it does leak, and has leaked a couple of times in my bag.
Champ Bailey Gives the Gulpy Water Dispenser 5 Woofs

Champ Bailey my cocker spaniel has report back to me that he wishes to give this water dispenser 5 Stars. I totally agree with him. Once I figured out I didn't have to unscrew the top/bowl all the way off, I could fill the dispenser easily. I am obsessive about him drinking from his Gulpy because I have read some horror stories about dogs who have become quite ill from drinking "stale" e.g. water that has sat around in a bowl without being changed like at a dog park. Champ recognizes his water dispenser and when he sees me fill it, his tail begins to wag. I think he is genetically linked to one of Pavlov's dogs.
You can even use it with a regular water bottle!

You can use a regular old plastic water bottle with this instead of the hard plastic one it comes with. This means even greater versatility. Throw a couple water bottles in the car on longer trips and you'll not have to worry about where to get water refills.
And yes - other reviews are correct that the drinking trough is somewhat slender. So of you have a large breed dog or a dog with large mouth or muzzle the logistics of the product might not be the best drinking experience for your big dog. Medium to small muzzle/mouth dogs - this is by far the best choice.
