Quality product with fine packaging

I read some other reviews about customers having problems with a cheap or broken box, but that wasn't the case for me at all. My coasters arrived on time and undamaged. They were packaged inside a cardboard box with no Styrofoam or cushion though, so I see how it could have happened. I order this item with other items and they were all packaged together by Amazon which probably saved the day. The coaster box is a fake wood laquer with Dexter written on the top of it, and it looks really classy, kind of like cherry wood. The coasters inside are pretty heavy duty glass, hard to break. Each coaster has a different pattern of blood spatter on it. Gave these to a friend for his birthday and he loved them. Good gift for someone who is a fan of the show.

Arrived a day late. Packaging was just a cardboard box with no protective wrap. Box and coasters had a fine dust on them but after wiping them down, the wood and coasters looked amazing. The wood is bright and the etching of dexter on the top of the wood box looks really good. The coasters are a glass with an obviously fake looking blood splatter sealed inside. Four rubber bulbs are on each corner of the coaster. A pretty unique and intriguing item for Dexter fans.

I received this item in a barely padded/protected box and upon opening it every side/lid/bottom part of the wooden box was busted and had fallen apart. the tiny nails holding it together couldn't even pierce a piece of paper let alone hold the box together. the slides and box itself was dusty therefore the seller knew they were selling me a damaged item. I contacted them for a refund and a return label and they never sent me it. I even sent them a picture of my damaged item... they could care less. I ended up buying wood glue and gluing this piece of shit box back together myself. l strongly recommend NOT BUYING this item or buying anything from this seller. EVER.

I ordered these for an ex girlfriend who is a demon woman. I should have known by her desire for blood spattered coasters. Seriously though, the quality is great and they make you look like the sociopath you truly are. I have considered ordering a set for myself but I fear it would bring up bad memories and I might end up crying in the shower...or potentially shutting off all emotions, and moving to Miami.

I can finally blend in with society with these coasters. I dont feel the need to hide anymore, my true nature. I always set up two coaster for me and my dark passenger. Bloody Mary's are wonderfully displayed on the bloody slides and after three I can better control my urges. The case looks wonderful on my "table".

Box came broken

I read the reviews and everyone had said that the box came broken, but I decided to take my chances since I love Dexter. I bought this as a gift to my boyfriend, and opened it before giving it to him. It was broken, I even tried using super glue to hold it together. My fingers got sticky, and if it touched any part of the box, the "Wood" texture easily peeled off.

The coasters themselves are glass and have a few great different blood spatter patterns. But the clear rubber pieces that they have on the bottom on each corner are very sloppily glued on. I went through each on and rubbed them clean then scraped the excess glue off around each rubber piece.

I was very disappointed in this. We kept it, but we keep it closed so that it doesn't fall apart.

I never write reviews unless I'm extremely happy or extremely unhappy with a purchase so it's not often. So there are many negative reviews about the wooden coaster box, which made me reluctant to buy it, but I said what heck. They said it arrived broken and was poor quality. Surprisingly that was not the case with mine! The box was intact and of good quality! It looks awesome! It does have a tiny dent in the bottom back corner but it's not even noticible unless you're looking for it. I'm so glad I bought this for my husbands birthday gift! He's ganna love it!

Nice coasters; terrible box

I got this as a gift for my brother for Christmas. Unfortunately, there are some gambles you will need to make if you want to purchase this set.

Pros:

Coasters are pretty nice! They are six glass coasters with different blood splatter patters on them. there are three different patters, so you get a set of two "slides" for each spatter pattern.

The blood pattern is printed on the bottom of the coaster, so you don't have to worry about glasses damaging the image.

The coasters have four small rubber / silicone feet on them that lifts the coaster off of the table. This prevents scratches when sliding the coaster along the table.

Cons:

The box. Oh the box... When I opened the package from Amazon, the box was in eight pieces. There were two staples in the bottom of the box that held the corners of the front part together. Other than that, the entire box fell apart when I opened it. It was like there was no glue used at all on the thing. In addition, there was a bright blue substance dried on to most of the edges of the outside of the box. I'm guessing this was the glue that was supposed to go *inside* the joints, but ended up on the outside instead. Fortunately, I was able to very carefully scrape the blue stuff off of the edges of the box. I was also able to re-glue the box back together, although this took several rounds and many clamps.

The only thing I wasn't able to fix was the finish on the inside of the lid. When I looked at the lid, the finish was very bubbled on the front part, and faded to almost nothing at the back. I sanded it a bit to remove the bubbles. it looks better, but you can still tell the inside was not sprayed properly during the finishing process.

Overall, I like the coasters, but am extremely disappointed in the quality of the box construction. It will make a good gift, but I wouldn't want to buy this last minute for someone, considering the effort it took to get the box back to the shape it should have been when sent out.

Box was damaged, bottom fell off

First of all the box logo was spot on just like the series logo. The coasters them selves were very cool. Heavy glass with the blood splatter design. The overall concept of the box with the slides is also very cool and an homage to Dexter. HOWEVER, the box was poorly put together. Tiny little pins were used to secure the bottom of the wooden box in place. Of course in fell off. The box sides were attached in misaligned fashion, the bottom corner was dented and the top had a deep gauge. All in all the wooden box was in poor shape. I'm returning it and ordering it from Think Geek directly. Maybe it will arrive in better shape.

Gift for the Hubby

I was very apprehensive at first to buy this product as many other reviewers stated that their package had arrived damaged, but I went out on a limb anyway and decided to give it a go. My husband is a HUGE Dexter fan, and I bought these as a Christmas present. I was very happy to find that both coasters and wooden box arrived completely in tact, in a timely manner (one week with free 5-9 shipping), and items were exactly as advertised. The coasters were very sturdy, considering they are glass,and wicked cool looking but they don't seem to work very well as coasters.. Because of the glass, condensation has a tendency to slide off the glass and onto the table anyway, so you do have to be a little careful about that. A big plus is that these were $10 less than I found on the Showtime online store.

Overall - very impressed and happy with my purchase and would recommend to most anyone.
