worthless and waste of time

The most difficult contraption to use. Not worth the muscle sore and danger of shaving your fingers. The little end piece is worthless. It can not even hold the piece of vegetable in place. The plastic stained after I put 1/2 a carrot through. maybe it takes more practice but everything came out ugly looking with frayed edges. I would not use this again nor would I recommend anyone buy this or anything that has the same concept as this. You may as well buy a mandolin.

Three Stars, now One because of disgraceful business practices by company.

large blades don't fully cut through the vegetables. Doesn't quite julienne it.

Update: Brieftons have contacted me. They are trying to bribe me to take my review down.
"I would like to ask you if you would be willing to remove the review and we will send you a replacement unit that should work better for you."

I should not have to take my review down for you to send me a replacement. If you stood by your product you would replace defective units without bribery.

Bribery to get negative reviews down is a serious offense. It is an effort to dupe customers, and unethical.

Size and firmness matter
by jenius (3 out of 5 stars)

Briefly: if you want something small for softer vegetables, this might be a nice option. I feel that if you plan on doing more serious cooking, especially involving harder vegetables, the countertop version competitors sell might be a better investment.

In my opinion, this thing will spiralize most of your vegetables, but with two hefty caveats:
1) I found it hard to spiralize sweet potatoes (and I'd imagine any larger vegetable), because I needed to cut them down to make them narrower (to fit into the apparatus)
2) I found, for firmer vegetables such as carrots, yams, and sweet potatoes, that I had to stop every few turns and manually remove the inner core that would get stuck and stop me from being able to continue slicing my vegetables. The test tube brush that came with the slicer was very useful for this. It is a hindrance, but not an insurmountable one.

But it spiralizes cucumbers and zucchinis well -- anything with a soft inside. I'll continue using this little guy for salads and such, but get too frustrated using it when cooking for more than two people.

Easy and fun

I have been wanting to make vegetable "pasta" for a while, but hated the idea of using a vegetable peeler. I saw a similar product from another company for more money, then stumbled on this one when I was on Amazon. After reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. I've been loving it for squash, zucchini and carrots. It has cut through the vegetables easily, cleaned up well and been fun to use. I have not had much luck with the top/handle, but it is still really easy to use.

awesome idea. utterly s*** product design/execution.

awesome idea.

utterly s*** product design/execution.

doesnt work very easily on many of the veggies it purports to cut well. too small of an opening for lots of veggies, and weird angle to try and press skinnier veggies up against the blade properly. the blade gums up pretty quickly with veggie matter- the softer stuff like zucchinni of course gets stuck, but carrots really seem to get all manky up in the blades as well. the brush that comes with it doesnt work well either- gets stuck in the blades, loses its bristles easily. and it isnt just the blade that holds onto the food: where the blade is attached to the plastic, there is a tiny space for food to get crammed up into the walls of the plastic and that is truly not possible to extricate. i just hope that the dishwasher sanitizes it like its supposed to, but its pretty gross to have tiny little orange bits of carrot lodged permanently into the device.

the first veggie that goes in gives a result that is awesome and exactly what the product description suggests- but in amounts only good for small side dish, or lots of garnish. after that- you have to stop and clean the blade every few turns which is infuriating. I'll keep it for small, side-dish-sized servings, but am looking for another product to do what this one promised. and the "handle" spiky thing thats supposed to be a finger saver i guesS? doesnt stick to any of the veggies i've used- it just starts turning without the vegetable, creating a mushy top of a veggie that doesnt allow you to exert any force on the turning of the vegetable. that part is the most useless part of the entire contraption. not reccommended.

Great little gadget you need

This is a great little gadget for your kitchen. It works exactly as advertised. Small to store and easy to use. Comes with instructions and a little cleaning brush to get the cutting blades clean without cutting yourself. Makes eating the veggies described much more fun to eat. Nice company too, they contacted me cuz I put my review in the wrong place. Like I said in my first review you could live without this but WHY????!!!!!! It makes your meal preparation fun and your meal so fancy and delicious looking.

Perfect zoodles!!

This is the perfect tool: inexpensive, doesn't take up much space, dishwasher safe and easy to use. Seriously, just get this one, you will be happy you did!

I eat zucchini "noodles" almost daily, and this tool has become my best friend. I think I need a second one! Works great on carrots as well. Just like a pencil sharpener, but for vegetables. Couldn't be easier to use or clean.

Not the greatest
by Nilda Martinez (3 out of 5 stars)
May 14, 2015

The customer service and shipping for this item were top notch. However, the item itself is a bit disappointing. I find that unless you are using really fat, wide vegetables, it is difficult to get long enough strands. I had to use it at an awkward angle in order to keep my noodles from breaking off. Mainly I ended up with a lot of vegetable shavings, not the result I was looking for.

Works but wastes
by Reviewer0418 (3 out of 5 stars)

Used yellow squash for "spaghetti", it's designed to purposely leave a weird triangle shaped core so you don't spiral in to the seeded middle of your vegetable. I get the point, but unless your vegetable is the perfect dimensions, your still left with not only the seeded core, but a decent amount of flesh around it. Recipes say use 1 squash/cucumber/zucchini per serving as a guide of how much to spiral. For the two of us, we had to use four yellow squash because in the end it was only two squash worth of spirals because it left two squash worth of "cores". I tried to not be wasteful and cut up the cores the next day and sauteed them for lunch. Overall, I'm not sure if losing out on 50% of your vegetables being left as cores is worth it. It came with an insert with a link to their website for recipes, I found most of them to be far too involved for me. I googled "vegetable pasta recipes" and found some that were more everyday versions. I guess some people eat theirs completely raw, with sauce but we chose to blanch ours in boiling water for 1-2 minutes to remove bitterness, and soften to more of a pasta-like consistency which is the whole basis of what we were going for- pasta without the crazy carbs!

Very Happy
by S. Bell (4 out of 5 stars)

Maybe because I read many reviews and watched the company youtube videos prior to ordering, but I had no problems using this tool right out of the box. I have used it on zucchini and cucumbers so far and had no problem producing longer spiral strands. Since I'm cooking for 1, this product works well for me - if I was trying to make a larger dish to share, it would become a hassle. I have a little more produce leftover than I expected, as when you get toward the end it doesn't reach far enough into this item to produce strands. Also, although I haven't tried yet, I don't see using this for veggies such as sweet potatoes, as you would have to cut the vegetable down to to fit first. I had no cleaning issues - I found using the spray nozzle eliminated the use of the brush for me. I'm happy with this product for now, I recommend if you want to stick with the basics carrots, zucchini, etc. Personally I will probably graduate to a countertop type appliance in the future to give me more options, but this provided a nice, cost effective introduction to spiralizing veggies.
