The 5-ball version, green in color, is best for me. The balls are the perfect firmness for my needs. I am able to roll over my forearms and calves, which helps to stretch those areas. I am also able to use a ball to press and hold on trigger points (knots) to help work those out. The elastic band holding the balls together is very strong and tight. It is really tight when rolling the balls, but is effective. I am using it for 30 seconds at a time, for starters. I tried the Pro-7 model, but the balls are rock-hard and hurt when I tried to use them. My calves are 13 inches.

Way too small, unable to use without pain, lose of circulation, and bruising. Keep in mind I am a smallish female.
If you already use a high density foam roller, you'll especially find these useful.

As a big fan of foam of high density foam rollers and almost daily user of my larger tube roller, I was interested in trying these. For me, stretching alone is often not enough to relieve muscle tightness, with is why I turn to my form roller. Most often, I use the roller on my back or back of my legs. Since these small tennis ball size high density foam rollers reach smaller areas, I found them a good idea. They are harder than my large tube roller and I probably should have purchased the original 5-7 pound of pressure per ball to get used to the idea of these balls (I purchased the Pro version - 7 - 12 lbs of pressure per ball). Since I fortunately don't have any current issues with my legs, arms or shoulders, I've been using the MoyBalls to massage the bottom of my feet after my daily walk. They do did feel good for this and massage my feet. The MyoBalls come with an instruction manual (and online videos) which I would certainly use if I were to use these with my shoulder or other areas. If I was working with a PT, I would certainly ask their opinion and follow their directions. It will be interesting if these start to be found in gyms, like the larger foam rollers. I received these MyoBalls at a discount in exchange for my honest review. I hope you found this review helpful.
Does a GREAT Deep Tissue Massage on my Calfs and IT Bands
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)

This product turned out to be a great purchase!! I needed a massager to focus on my calfs and IT Band in my quads. I have a roll bar massager and a foam roller, those just do not seem to cut it well enough to put the pressure where I need it. These "Myoballs" I bought it "Pro" aggressive pressure and #5 for my legs, seemed to fit good and give a nice deep tissue massage!! Glad to have found a nice price point product to help me have some relief in my legs.
The MyBalls Pro7 are a nice tool to add to my bag of muscle soreness and recover items.

Myofascial release (or MFR) is an alternative medicine therapy that treats skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles. This is typically done by a Physical Therapist or Masseuse. For those of us who cannot afford to have one on call, self treatment with foam rollers and balls is the alternative. The MyBalls are a nice tool to add to my bag of muscle soreness and recover items. Be aware that the original series is 5-7 pound stretch with medium firm balls, the pro series (which I bought) is 7-12 pound (I'd put it at the latter for most usage) and it is very dense. If your not sure which is for you or if your at all sensitive I would start with the original.
Which ever on you chose you should check out their youtube videos "Myoballs quickstart guide"
For the MyoBalls Pro7
Pros:
Good concept, the band of balls allows you to put pressure on areas you simply cannot reach with a foam roller.
The balls are positionable allowing you to place them on the point of a knot or problem area.
The Pro7 balls are dense allowing you to put an immense amount targeted pressure where needed.
Nice magnetic enclosure box to store it in if your so inclined.
Cons:
The circular band restricts where this can be used comfortably (would be better it you could adjust the band or a detachable link allowing you to use in a straight strand).
These balls are dense and not very forgiving (not for the sensitive)
The booklet works fine when used with the video, but the instructions were somewhat confusing and the pictures were not very helpful.

Great for Chair Massages

Bought these at a National Massage Therapy Conference and I love them for self-care, but even more when I do chair massages. If you're a licensed massage therapist, I recommend these as one of your tools for chair massages. This combined with the RAD Roller kit makes for the best reviews you will ever get from chair massage clients. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend that everyone should receive the awesome health benefits from using the very effective myoball.

My calves get super tight from so much walking. This has really helped my calves from seizing up.
I bought this for my shoulder like it shows in the pic

I bought this for my shoulder like it shows in the pic. It's too small for me to get on my shoulder. I'm only 5' 8", 175 lbs. It's decent on other parts of the body.
