Product Description

Sharks Are Flying at Your Head at 300 mph.
How Will You Survive?

In the apocalyptic world we live in, Mother Nature is angry. Danger waits at every turn, and catastrophes like the Los Angeles sharknados have taught us that we need to be ready for anything. Too many lives have already been lost.

But fear not. How to Survive a Sharknado and Other Unnatural Disasters is the first and only comprehensive guide to surviving the very worst that Mother Nature can throw our way. Inside this life-saving reference, you'll find:
  • Vital information about dozens of unnatural disasters and ungodly monsters that can injure, maim, or kill you, from arachnoquakes and ice twisters to piranhacondas and mega pythons;
  • Easy-to-understand survival tips for avoiding a bloody demise;
  • Inspirational words of wisdom from survivors, including Fin Shepard and April Wexler;
  • Useful resources, such as the Shepard Survival Assessment Test (S.S.A.T), and much more.
With this essential book in hand, you too can be a hero who laughs in the face of calamity while saving friends and family. Or you can just avoid getting savagely ripped apart by a sharktopus. Either way, you've been warned. Now be prepared.

As seen in the Syfy original TV movie, Sharknado 2: The Second One!

Better safe than sorry!

I now feel well equipped to handle any emergency that might befall me. Having survived an actual tornado, I was a little terrified at the thought of sharknados. Of course, living 300 miles from the ocean makes this highly unlikely. However, this book also offers sound advice for surviving other disasters such as the Stonehenge Apocalypse, Redneck Gators, Beeclipse and Bigfoot. This last is a true possibility. I know people who have seen Bigfoot. Did I mention I work in the field of substance abuse? Hurry, buy this book. Your life may depend upon it. I'm off to buy my life-size cardboard standee of Brad Pitt from World War Z for inspiration.

I'm ready for anything both natural and unnatural.

I like how the both covers a variety of things which can come your way whither they be unnatural disasters or monsters in general. I never took the time to research just how many bad movies SyFy has made over the years, it's like I'm reading an mini encyclopedia.

The book is divided into two parts, the first focused on unnatural disasters (which is divided into subsections - Fighting Mother Nature and When Earth Attacks,) which include the following:

Antdemic, Arachnoquake, Bataclysm, Beeclipse, Boaricane, Dinoami, Sharknado, Whalestrom and then Extreme weather Vortex, Firenado, Ice Twister, Metor Storm, Polar Storm, Stonado, Stonehenge Apocalypse and finally a Swamp Volcano.

Then you have part time which is on monsters and divided into subsections- Death if by land and Destruction if by Sea and include the following: Basilisk, Bigfoot, Manticore, Mega Python, Mongolian Death Worm, Mothman, Prehistoric Cave Bear, Rock Monster, Saber-toothed Tiger, Dinoshark, Elektrokraken, Gatoroid, Ghost Shark, Piranhaconda, Pteracuda, Redneck gator, Robocroc, Sharktopus and Swamp Shark.

Each disaster or monster has a description on what to expect from them and how to handle each situation.

"One Small Step For Mankind, One Great Leap For Sharks."
by Robert I. Hedges,Top Contributor: Pets (5 out of 5 stars)

If you care about your own future or the future of mankind, you must be prepared to survive onslaughts of startling phenomena or creatures at any time. Thankfully Andrew Shaffer with the help of noted shark survivalists Fin Shepard and April Wexler are on the case. This book takes up where the other more conventionally accepted survival manuals and manifestos leave off. Whether dealing with the new weather dynamics of Firenadoes, Ice Twisters, or the dreaded Stonehenge Apocalypse, Shaffer and company have actionable tips that will see you through.

The book really shines in its dealings with horrifying creatures, starting with the titular Sharknadoes commonplace in Los Angeles and New York City. I was particularly pleased to see the book conclude with an advanced analysis of the recently recognized threat of Space Sharknadoes; it was wise to leave that for last as that is fairly advanced material. If you think this book is a one trick pony, though, think again: everything necessary is covered here, from the dreaded Mongolian Death Worm (they are slow, so just stay clear of their twelve-foot tongues) to the barely believable Rock Monster (see especially the valuable information contained in the text box titled "Who said it? The evil wizard Dimitar or Kanye West?") I happen to enjoy vacationing on cruise ships, and if you're like me you will definitely want to study up on the Elektrokraken, Piranhaconda, and most terrifying of all, the dreaded Ghost Shark. I just received my DVD documentary titled "Ghost Shark" in the mail, in fact, and am preparing for further study of this worthy adversary before my next seafaring adventure.

This is a great book that can save your life with advice you can't possibly find anywhere else.

I heard about this as I was watching Sharknado 2 this summer, so I immediately grabbed my Kindle Fire and ordered it. Love it. A good day is when the SciFi channel runs cheesy movies all day long, especially of the shark ilk. I need to catch up on some of these movies. This is a good thing to turn to when I need a laugh or to put my life into perspective. (Being a teacher has a lot in common with Sharknado life.) Now I need to find other Sharknado souvenirs...there's a great Sharknado Cat Hat on Etsy, if anyone's interested.
