Product Description
Describes the exploration of North America in the times of explorers Christopher Columbus, Francisco Vazquez de Coronado, and Sieur de La Salle. The reader's choices reveal the historical details from the perspective of a sailor or a Taino Indian during Columbus' voyage in 1492, a Spanish adventurer or a Zuni Indian during Coronado's 1540 expedition, and a member of Sieur de La Salle's expedition down the Mississippi River in 1682.Top Reviews

My students love reading about historical events and this was a fun one to add to my library. The students have the chance to make their own story!

Great books for teaching social studies. Kids can really immerse themselves in the story and understand the issues of the day in a real way.

My students love interactive books. Allowing the kiddos to pick their path increases their understanding of point of view, as well as develop their understanding of the events in history. It has helped my students learn more about history in a fun and engaging way. Great work!

I am a 5th grade teacher who teaches Explorers each year. I think the information in this book is great and the "choose-your-own-adventure" format will be extremely motivating for my students! I love this whole series of Interactive History Adventures!!

I am in love with this series but this was not one of the better books, maybe this era just doesn't lend itself well to the choose your own adventure medium.

Bad news for the Tainos who met Columbus -- none of the endings for that story path are happy. However, the story paths of LaSalle's explorations were all very interesting and seldom read. The book also goes along with Coronnado.
All in all, it's a ood resource and very enjoyable. We read it for "Age of Exploration" projects.
