Great Parachute for Kid's Games

I have been comparing parachutes for some time for an organization I work for. I went for this one based on the current reviews. I was very happy with this purchase.

The parachute itself is made from nylon which seems to be well sewn together. It comes in a simple bag for storage. The parachute itself is broken into 12 panels, while there are 16 handles. This is one area of concern for me as the handles do not all line up with a seam, but I will have to see as we use this parachute more if there is any failure. Regardless, the handles seem to be well sewn into the parachute along a double seam on the edge. The size measures at 20 feet (for the one I purchased) which will easily fit 16 people under it (including some adults). I would recommend this product both for its quality and value.

I had a lot of debate on whether to buy this or go for the cheaper, 20'/24' parachute. Needless to say, I went for this and am very glad! There are 24 handles but I played this with at least 40 kids so it's easy to just pick a spot on the parachute and grab on (three kids could fit in between each handle). The age range of the kids I played with was anywhere between 4-13. It was tough getting the parachute up since they weren't so tall, but there was definitely enough space for people to run underneath and also to do the mushroom. I would say the only downside to this parachute was that after I unpacked it, it was very very difficult for me to pack it back in to a compact state. I just didn't know how to fold it and doing it with one person is very difficult. Bear this in mind if you're putting it in your luggage like I did.

If you have less than 24 kids then get the smaller parachutes. Otherwise, this is a great buy!

I bought this to use as an activity for my kids' birthday party (they'll be turning 4 and 1). Though we haven't had the party yet this has still been a fun home activity. Great for inside and outside play! Great quality. I suspect it will last until my kids have out grown it if not longer!

Update: It was a hit at the birthday party which had children ranging in age from 6 months to 4.5 years. And held up to all the use at the party!

I saw this parachute at my local Y, and thought it would be a great idea for all my grandchildren. At the 4th of July cookout, when I brought this thing out, the kids were thrilled! Of course the first thing they want to do is shake the heck out of it, but it seems like it is made well. Good stitching, durable, lightweight nylon. I went with the 20ft wide because there were a lot of kids. Even the adults grabbed a handle and had fun with it. I didn't know what to actually do with it other than have the kids flap it and run under it. I felt it should have come with a sheet of suggestions for activities, but it does not. I went online and found the games and printed it out, so the next time I knew what could work for the kids in our age group. These all come in sizes, so plan on how many kids/people will be using it. I think the 6 and 10-12ft, would be too small to do anything with. Go big!

This is perfect for our homeschool family. It is not as big as a school or library parachute. It can comfortable be used by 4 people. It came with a carrying bag for storage.

This was a good size for my pre-k students and the price was very reasonable. I was worried about the quality, but overall it is good. The seams have held up well. I have used this in my school courtyard, so it has gotten some holes from students stepping on it. The mesh part in the middle did not hold up, but the nylon fabric and handles have held up really well. I will try to replace the middle part with a heavier mesh. If using outdoors, I recommend having the students use it in a grassy area so that it does not get torn up. It is not as good of quality as those in our PE class, but better than the ones you find super cheap.

This is a nice quality play parachute at a great price--with good quality stitching and handles well attached. The fabric is a little heavier than I remember from my youth, so it should work out great for my purpose, as a temporary canopy cover for an event. One thing to note is that the mesh vent hole is much larger than I anticipated--10 inches in diameter for the 20 footer--so if you are using it as a cover rather than its intended purpose, you may have to make some modifications.

Throwback to Childhood Gym Class (Big enough for Adults!)

I bought this for a party (for adults) and was nervous it would not be big enough, however upon opening this parachute is huge and can work with as little as 6 adults (holding two handles) or even more if you put one person per handle. We were able to re-live our childhood gym class days and had a blast doing so! the parachute seems to be very durable, however I have only used it twice. definitely would suggest buying if you are looking for a throwback or want to entertain children! it really is a great arm workout also!

This parachute has been a big hit with my preschool class. It is just big enough for the 12 students and 2 teachers! The kids always get excited when I bring it out. I would definitely buy this again!

We use it to play parachute games and kids have a blast. We also use it as a cover for our 14 foot round trampoline. Works great! Handles are very strong even with it being tied down to the trampoline, I was worried when we left it on out in a wind storm but the handles held up fine! Great quality for price would definately reccomend.
