Discolored & crumbly.

Every bar in the package was crumbling apart, old, discolored & uneatable. Very disappointing.

AMAZING Chocolate, but Wrapper Can Leave an Off Taste
by Marie Ferderer (4 out of 5 stars)

Generally speaking, I love Endangered Species chocolate, and the 72% is no exception. My issue is with the packaging. It seems that the taste of the packaging can rub off onto the chocolate inside. My husband and I have only noticed this on the 72% (we have subscribed to this type and to the 88% for the past 2 years, and eat the chocolate on a daily basis.) We have learned that you must be careful not to press the wrapper into the chocolate very hard, or it will leave an overpowering metallic taste. The problem is easily solved by transferring the chocolate from its wrapper to a different container as soon as you open it. It took us a while to figure out where the metallic taste was coming from, so hopefully this will save others the trouble.

Again, amazing chocolate, I just wish that the company would change the material on the inside of the wrapper.

For a good cause.....

This has been the only quality chocolate I eat, and have for years since I discovered Endangered Species Chocolate. They give back and that is very important to me as I am a huge supporter of the African Wildlife. Not to mention this chocolate is the best and I have tried other products of high standards!

I think there must be some batch variations.

I've been buying this from other stores as well
(chocolate is a commodity)

this batch had much less flavor.

waiting a bit, will buy again.

Best chocolate money can buy, or at least I think so. . .

We found this chocolate in a gift shop at an historic landmark. I had wanted to buy something to support the place, but hadn't seen anything that caught my eye... The gal behind the desk said, "Yeah, it's expensive, but it will be the best chocolate you'll ever eat." Now, how could I pass that up? So, for a lot more money than it usually costs I invested in this chocolate bar and have never been sorry. It's absolutely the best chocolate ~ ever. I've tried lots of different ones, types, etc. and none could compare with these bars. Now, I've talked this chocolate up so much, there's a shortage going on! Enjoy! If you can find them!

I keep going back for more.

I love this brand and what they stand for. Among their dark chocolates, I prefer the 72% cacao over the higher percentages, which were too bitter for my taste. My friends love it too. I break it up into chunks and serve it with nuts along the side when they come over. Plus I give everyone a bar "for the road." Since buying the basic chocolate bar, I've discovered their other varieties--such as ones that come with little bits of dried blueberries and more. Love them all!

High quality chocolate

I love this chocolate! Not too sweet which is best for one's health. I also like getting Endangered Species brand due to the high quality of their products and their contribution to a good cause. Also, ordering through Amazon is much less expensive than buying at the local health food store.

Good chocolate, but.....
by Linda Lander (3 out of 5 stars)

Good chocolate, but it has a distinct flavor, as all chocolate does, and I'm not fond of it. I can't determine exactly what the flavor is, but it reminds me a little of almond. I love almonds, but not almond flavoring. It's 72%, but seems to be a little sweeter than the other 72% that I've eaten. I don't like a lot of sugary foods. On the other hand my husband likes it, but he's never met anything with chocolate or sugar he didn't like. It's all a matter of taste/preference. Price wise it's a good buy compared to other 72% chocolate

OK

I really like dark chocolate and always enjoy sampling new ones. So when I saw these I just had to try them.

I find this chocolate to be of a good quality but just a tiny bit too bitter for me. It lacks creaminess and tastes a bit chalky.

This is particularly surprising to me because my so far favorite dark chocolate by Lindt ( http://amzn.com/B000HQNBSU) is an 85% dark chocolate but it is very smooth.

So in conclusion I'll probably will not repurchase this one again.

My favorite.

Love this chocolate. It is plain and simple and very smooth. My favorite is to melt a small amount in my mouth and eat a pretzel with it. mmmm good!
