Best Sunflower Seeds Out there

I played baseball my whole life so I've tried all sorts of seed: David, Spitz, Planters, Bigs, the ones with the elephants on pack and so on. For seeds, the two key factors are taste and size of the seeds. I have found Jim Beam BBQ to be the best in both categories. The flavor is a BBQ but it is unlike any BBQ i have tasted. It almost has a rough crystallized coating that is a sweet sugary BBQ with a hint of spicy that is fantastic and lasts quite a while. This is important if you are like me and store a large amount of seeds in your cheek as you play a sport/work around the house. The seed size is also impressive as they use seeds that must be twice the size of David seeds (David SUCKS!) This means less opening of shells for small kernels and less destroying a seed cause it won't crack down the center.

I probably go through a box of 12 every month so I also appreciate that these are at a great price. It is even cheaper than go directly to the manufacturer website (MORONS) or buying them at a gas station. I play in several sports leagues and have gotten COUNTLESS friends, family and colleagues hooked on these seeds. I frequently get picture texts when my friends spot these in gas stations on the west coast :)

My only issue with these seeds is that they are often out of stock on amazon and I am forced to go with another option. The other flavors by Jim Beam and Bigs are pretty uniformly terrible except for "catch of the day" and surprisingly "Salt and Vinegar". The bacon, pickle, buffalo,black pepper, hot, and ranch are either flavors I don't like (black pepper, pickle) or not great representations of the flavor they claim to be.

Spitz are a decent alternative as their seeds are large but I always find their flavors to be a bit bland. My other go to in a pinch is the 2 for a dollar skinny planters BBQ packs that they sell at gas stations. I NEVER buy David and we mercilessly mock those who show up to our wiffle ball/softball league with David seeds :)

Beyond delicious

Some people need straight alchohol to party. Others need drugs. Me? Jim Beam Barbecue sunflower seeds.

One bag of these bad boys lasts me an entire night, and what a night it is. Half the time I wake up to find I've gone through a bag without even knowing it. My friends and family tell me they can always smell the barbeque flavoring on me and that I need help, but they just don't understand how awesome these seeds are. Just because I keep a stockpile of these beauties under my mattress doesn't mean I'm an addict. I can stop whenever I want, I just enjoy the flavor, and the euphoria that shoots through me every time I throw a handfull into my mouth.

These seeds are heaven-sent, you wont regret the experience.

This was my first time getting seeds outside of the main brands (David's, Planters, Lays) found at the local convenience stores other than the Israeli seeds I sometimes get, but those are too different to compare. I didn't find the seeds to be that much bigger than David's like some reviews said, but they were nice and hearty and definitely on the large side.

The flavor lasts very long which is great, and I enjoy the BBQ flavor of these although I have to admit that it took about 3/4 of the bag before I really started to enjoy it so I guess it is a little bit of an acquired taste or perhaps just took a little getting used to.

One of the best things about these seeds is that they are not too salty, and therefore are not harsh on the gums. With other brands I have to take a break from eating them and alternate which cheek I store them in, and days later I'm pulling pieces of dead skin from my gums, but with these seeds I had no such problem. This is great as I love being able to eat them as much as I like without having to endure pain brought about by too much salt on my gums. My dad said the same thing to me about them not burning his gums, and that was without me having told him my thoughts on that, so I'm not the only one that appreciates this little perk that it has over other brands.

I will definitely be buying more of these and wish that they carried this brand/flavor in the stores by me but I doubt they have them in NY and don't see them coming here anytime soon.

I ordered these by accident, thinking they were a different flavor. Well I figured it wasn't worth shipping back so I'd give them a try. To my surprise I really liked them. Not a huge amount of BBQ flavor, more of a spicy sweet salty with a hint of BBQ flavor. These aren't as good as my usual jalapeno flavor, but still way better then any other seed company. You get more good big seeds and less sticks then other brands. The seeds split open in a satisfying way and are very pleasant to snack on.

I seed nonstop at work. I've tried about everything out there.

David's bbq seeds, as well as spitz, and other brands I've had don't come close to BIGS in any way at least in this flavor. The seeds are HUGE.

As for flavor - these are outright delicious. Sweet & smoky, right amount of saltiness. In my opinion, this is the most believable BBQ flavor out there. Other brands taste much more artificial.

I used to get David's bbq before I discovered these.

Even after reading several reviews about this product being terrible after Bigs took over, I took a change and ordered a 12 pack. I opened up a bag as soon and I got it and was satisfied.

The first time I had these was a while ago and I didn't like them, they tasted funny compared to other brands. But, the next time I tried them I was hooked and these are the familiar taste I enjoy. It could be that I didn't start eating seeds until a few years ago, and never experienced the "extra" flavor, but these seeds have plenty of flavor to me. I will say though, the flavor last just as long as other seeds, or maybe a little longer. Also, these are the only seeds where the flavor gets better, rather than old, the more you eat!

I would recommend this, to people who love BBQ sunflower seeds.

I went through a bag in 3 days, so if I keep this up I'll need another case in a month :)

My absolute favorite sunflower seed in the world...honestly I was searching every gas station for these and finally just ordered 24 bags on AMAZON! If you haven't tried these, DO! I get far fewer "bad" seeds than with "Spitz' and they don't rub your mouth raw like some other brands!

I buy these by the case from time to time...people go in on them with me...I was addicted to these..literally. can eart a whole bag in a night and no chapped tongue...Taste is the best thing on earth...in between cases I eat BIGZ Bacon but they aren't the same :(

I used to sit and wait and drive around from gas station to gas station looking for these wonderful seeds that have been sent from the heavens. But I guess it made to much sense to carry an item that sells out so quickly. But thanks to amazon I now just reorder when I am getting low.

as a coach of two sports at the school i teach at, i go through 3-5 bags of these a week, for a while this bulk package was a few cents cheaper compared to the c-store on my way to school. you can't go wrong with these seeds, they taste great when you are hankering for an alternative to the plain salted seeds.
