Iso-Cool pillows, mattress toppers, and mattress pads feature Outlast Adaptive Comfort material that adjusts to the body's changing temperature. The microscopic Phase Change Material (PCM) beads sense whether the body's mean temperature is too warm or too cool. If the body's temperature is too warm, the product absorbs heat and feels cool in order to regulate body temperature. In 2011 I bought one of these. It WAS the best pillow I have ever owned. My wife stole this one and said it helped her sleep, So I ordered a new one. Got it and first hour my head sunk all the way in as if I had no pillow. I unzipped both pillows the next morning to compare them. What I found out is the new material is more porous and flattens out quickly, OOPs what a big mistake ISO -Cool has made, takes a special brand of stupid to turn the best pillow product on the market to trash in only a few years. I sent mine back hopefully the manufacturer gets the message. Normally I would not recommend another product but I purchased this pillow, its a little bit firmer than the original ISO cool memory foam, but it is the one I purchased after returning this one.

Like another reviewer has already stated I bought another pillow exactly like this one three years ago. Went to my order history and ordered the exact same one. The one I just received is absolutely nothing like my older one which is the pillow my wife and I fought over. The older pillow was far more supportive and didn't collapse under the weight of my head while the newer one is almost flat.

I tossed and turned all night with the newer pillow.

At this point I can no longer recommend this brand and will seek to find an alternative solution for my older pillow as well due to wanting to have the same pillows on both side of the bed.

DO NOT BUY THIS PILLOW! There has been a serious reduction in quality. I bought this pillow 2 years ago and love it, but like so many of my favorite things, it needed replacing. I re-purchased and found the pillow was of a much lower quality. The sturdiness that I counted on was gone. It's like a wet noodle, instead of the firm supportive memory foam I'd expected. This is a lot of money for a pillow and I'm very disappointed!

Absolutely terrible DON'T BUY THIS PILLOW. If you read through the reviews you'll see that other people said the older model was much better. This is a 100% true statement. My roommate has a older model of this exact pillow. I tried his versus the ones I purchased and there's a world difference. The memory foam is poor quality and head just sinks into the pillow without support.

The original version of this pillow (the one still seen in the picture they show) has been my go to pill for the last 8 years. I would buy new ones of this exact pillow every 1-2 years, cycling through 4 of these pillows on my bed at all times. It WAS the best pillow ever. I'm a side sleeper and the heavy, gusseted, foam was perfect to keep me in good alignment with the perfect sleep. I just bought 4 new ones to update my stock, going to my historical orders and 're-ordering' and the pillows i just received are a FRAUD!!!! They are not what the picture shows, they are NOT gusseted, they are normal pillows is a gusseted pillow case, they are not firm/heavy/solid. I can't begin to understand why this company would sub in a poor substitute and falsely advertise. This use to be a great, high end, side sleeper foam pillow...the best. Why ruin that and go cheap? It's clear from the other reviews that others feel the same way. Some moron at the company must have had a 'brilliant' idea to save money by cheaping out on the pillow, sticking it in the same cover and believed people will fall for it. Not this guy. Moving on...there's similar product to this one from Classic Brands that i'm going to try out. SleepBetter should fire the analyst who said going cheap would be a winner. He/she was WRONG!!!!

I've looked and read reviews because firmness is so subjective. I saw pictures of a stack of books on the pillow that appeared to indicate that the pillow is very firm, but the one delivered to me is not firm. My guess is that the firmness of the pillow must vary from order to order. I'm a side sleeper and I have to fold the pillow in half and put my arm under it to get the proper thickness and firmness. This pillow is not very firm.

I read the reviews that this pillow was not the same as it was 2-3 years ago, but I decided to order it anyway. I thought, "Maybe they didn't order the exact one. Or maybe I ordered my last ones after the style had already changed." However, I should have listened to the other reviewers. I loved the pillow as it was before, a bit thicker and a bit firmer. It is still a nice pillow, but not enough for me to continue to seek this one out. I will try something a bit thicker moving forward. I was disappointed; I thought I had found a pillow that I could continue buying online resting assured that I would love it.

A great pillow but it is not the same as the one that I have that I ordered for years ago. It is more foamy and mine is made of the same thing only much firmer. My old one was bought in 2012 and is still as firm and comfortable as he day I bought it. The new one is more softer and does not have the support and the firmness that my original one has all these years later. I would try to get one that is better. If it is not 5 pounds and very firm but soft at the same time you can always send it back but it will not be this pillow. They have cheapened it for cost I assume. Very sad because it was a great pillow. I'm glad I have my original. I will never give it up!

I felt I've done my due diligence in searching for the best memory foam, side sleeper, dense, firm, and cool pillow, given the circumstances that I could not try before I buy. I searched for the last three months, reading company websites, but more importantly customer reviews. I felt finding the Iso-Cool with an almost 4.0 rating out of 5.0 from 4,000 people - more than any other pillow I had researched, gave me the aggregate high degree of satisfaction among actual consumers that it was a safe buy. I was wrong.

Last night was my first night. I am giving this pillow three nights and I will report back on my conclusion and whether I return it, but it is not looking good. The pillow stays cools for about 3-4 minutes (yes you read that correctly). I tossed it several times to get more cool before falling asleep - disappointing. It is extremely small. I knew this because I did read the dimensions, but felt like it's just my head, right?
Wrong. Your head, arms, neck move throughout the night, and because it is so small you reach the edge of the pillow much too soon and wake up, bad.

The pillow is not high enough. Amazon says 3", bpillow.com says 2", the SleepBetter site says nothing - that's right the company website offers little in the way of information on their own product. I went with Amazon and thought 3" would be just about right - it's not. When the foam is not dense, your head sinks, when your head sinks on a 3" pillow, then it is being cradled by your flippin' bed!!

More to come, but how can in the world can it improve? The box and bag are ready for a send back and I will continue my search. I welcome any suggestions for a firm, dense, heavy, side sleeper that cools, not too high - I am desperate for a good nights sleep.

EDIT - 1/23/16 - Pillow did not magically improve, processed return.

I ordered this pillow for my granddaughter who is always trying to steal mine and her mother's Iso-Cool Memory Foam Pillow with Gusseted Sides. I went to my archived orders and re-ordered one expecting it to be exactly like mine and her mother's. When it arrived I thought the package was very light weight compared to the weight of my pillow and sure enough - this pillow weighs half of what my other 2 pillows weigh. My granddaughter hates it and still wants mine - have tried to get used to it but I don't like it either - since my 30 days to return is just past I will have to keep it for a guest pillow. Iso-Cool Memory Foam Pillow, Gusseted Side Sleeper ,Standard I would think that if the product had been changed in any way it would be made clear, especially when I had previously ordered 2 of them. It is NOT the same product.
