And the winner of the "Bad Product of the Year Award" goes to...
by docpkrdude (1 out of 5 stars)

This Exceptionally Bad product. It is really hard to take working components (LED, sensor, batteries) and turn them into something completely un-redeemable. I recycle, upcycle, and hang onto just about everything. So, I'll hang onto the pieces of these things. But, I still feel I've been taken advantage of and shamefully used. At $1.50 each, I figured huh, why not....worth a try, right? Wrong! Wow. I've never had a product fail this spectacularly. I hate to give this product even a single star. No, these people owe ME a star!

I bought three...one worked twice...one made it all the way up to about 5 cycles! The third didn't even bother getting dressed for the occasion. They are supposed to turn on when water conducts current through two exposed leads inside the chamber (at least that what seems to be the design). When the water shuts off, the water should vacate the chamber, the LED should stop. Sounds easy enough. And, yes, one of them did work for a few cycles. But, then the things decide that all that turning on and off is too confusing. Let's just stay on, shall we! If it does continue to cycle, then you better get your thick-skin on because the temperature sensitivity is set so that "Red" activates somewhere near boiling (okay, that's an exaggeration but only a slight one.). Oh, and don't get me started on the ridiculous threading. You'll do some serious "counting to 10" when you try to thread any of the connections together. It's like playing "operation..." you'll need an incredibly steady hand. And when you get it just right, the little boogers strip with only a tiny bit of tightening. Duct tape would work better. It wouldn't be as pretty, but there wouldn't be all the leaking. I'm thinking I might hang onto them and drop them in the toilet bowl next time I throw a party. Might be cool to have glowing water in the bowl. When people ask if I dropped a flashlight in there, I can say "no, it's just a glowing piece of @#$%."...because that pretty much sums things up.

Requires Batteries
by Kindle Customer (1 out of 5 stars)
October 16, 2013

Claim : 'No battery needed, it is powered by the pressure of water.'

Fact : It takes three batteries. Two sets are included. One inside the device and another in the packaging.

Claim : 'Provide two different adapters, fit most of faucet taps.'

Fact : It comes with 2 adapters, neither of which fit any of my faucets. They are made of flimsy plastic. So far I have not been able to find an adapter that will work for any of my faucets.

Claim : 'When water temperature is between 33 Centigrade to 41 Centigrade, it turns green color.'

Fact : So far I have not been able to get it to turn green at all.

Claim : 'When water temperature is more than 46 Centigrade, it is flashing, which remind you be careful.'

Fact : Does turn Red when hot but so far have not been able to get it to flash red.

For < $4 I did not expect much. This is made out of flimsy plastic which if I could get it to hook to a faucet, I would not expect it to stay attached for very long as it sticks down more than 2 inches and I expect it would be bumped frequently. Especially with children. I fastened it to a faucet with duct tape for testing. It does turn red when the water is hot and blue when the water is not hot, but no flashing red when very hot or green when moderate temperature. The light does not turn on all of the time with water and frequently stays on after the water is turned off. The FEATURES lists 'No battery needed, it is powered by the pressure of water.' This was the main reason I purchased this. It is NOT TRUE. It does require batteries (3). And it comes with two sets (One installed and one in the packaging.)

I am very disappointed in the misleading and outright lies listed in the Product Details.

defective and unreliable, incorrectly advertised
by H F (1 out of 5 stars)

Colors change erratically. Starts green and then as water gets HOT (125F+) it goes blue, holds for a minute, and finally red, flashing between blue and red occasionally. User would be burned long before light turns red. Turn off water, turn it back on seconds later (same temperature) and not red, again starts green.

Update: VERY IRRITATED that seller read this and came to me to say oh, we just checked with our supplier and the description is wrong it is supposed to do what you have, not what it says in the listing. They asked me to take back the negative comment. I won't, it was incorrectly advertised when I bought it. And we put it in the guest bath that doesn't get much use. It has already started to leak and spray the user. Also, I have to turn on the water almost full blast to get it to work and that is a waste of water.

dont bother

It stays on. So its effectively a night light. Green means cold, blue means warm, red means hot and flashing red means scalding. The problem I had with it is thatit worked for about 5 hours. Now its just the blue and green leds that stay on simultaneously and never shut off. Regardless of the water temperature its just bluish green.luckily its pretty inexpensive. However im going to have to look around for a similar product to help teach my child how to be safe with water faucets since this one doesnt work. Shipping took about 6 weeks sonot even worth it to exchange it.

Purchased another after 4 years of use.

We love our LED faucet. It looks super cool. It becomes a conversation peice when we have people over. We purchased it in 2012 and it has lasted 4 years and some months. The light has recently began flickering every so often even when the water pressure is at full but it happens very rarely. I have purchased another just like this from the same seller because the last one lasted so long with no problems. The only caveat we noticed is the red light only illuminates at extremely hot temps.

These have historically not worked for me...

I ordered a product that looked identical a few years ago, but only had red and blue colors (I actually liked that color scheme better.) This product sort of works, but the lights don't seem to turn off when the water flow stops, and I'm worried that the battery will just be used up instantly.

Also, the quality is not great. The clear ring that looks like it is red at the base of the item in the picture, was poorly glued on to the silver part and fell off. I had to re-glue mine. Also, the light didn't turn off when the water stopped. The unit uses the conductivity of water to turn on. Two wires come out from a single little hole in the center of the product (inside the screw off silver part.) The hole is, apparently, sealed in some way to keep the electronic internals from getting wet. But the small hole actually is a great place for a drop of water to "get caught" and hang out, touching both wires leaving the center, and keeping the unit turned on. I got some silicone glue and put a dab right into this hole, and actually made a "mountain" of it over the hole. Now, water can't get stuck there, and the unit operates more like it should.

I realize the product is cheap, but I shouldn't have to try so hard, and repair things to use it!

Where to start...

The product is a flop. It wasn't expensive, so I didn't expect it to be made of durable materials, but honestly it felt like it came out of a happy meal.

During the few minutes the temperature gauge worked, it read blue almost all of the time unless the water was ready to boil ramen noodles. After a few minutes the temperature gauge was finnicky to say the least. It started flashing on and off, and wouldn't detect when the water was running.

On top of that, none of the "universal" adapters included worked with my standard kitchen sink. I managed to get it to screw on using a smaller adapter with LOTS of plumbers tape.

So I ended up with a happy meal toy that had plumbers tape wrapped around the seams that flickered on and off when it wanted to.

I was thinking when I gambled on the purchase that I could at least salvage some neat parts from it ( temperature gauge, LEDs etc ) but this thing was a mess that went in the garbage.

Just my two cents.

Arrived with no instructions and I couldn't get it to work...

I got it and was quite excited to use it on my bathroom sink and thought it would look awesome but I didn't get to do any of that. It came with no instructions and one of the pieces seemed to be missing so I was never able to get it working. I spent a few minutes maneuvering and twisting the objects I was given around but all to no avail. I don't know if I'm missing something or if it's broken, but I'm never ordering this again. It's such a shame, I really was looking forward to see the color changes of the water. Too bad. I wanted to surprise my brothers and guests when they first turned on the faucet and saw the different colors of the water.

works fine if flow sensor is not wet
by Patrick J. Oleary (3 out of 5 stars)

the good:
1. nice blue glow (never ran the water long enough in kitchen to test red glow)
2. does not restrict water flow
3. does not take up too much additional room
4. economical price.

the bad:
1. requires batteries. 2 sets included, 1st set were almost dead.
2. depending on your faucet angle the wet sensor may not shed water after the faucet is off. this will keep the light on, draining the batteries eventually, even when no water is flowing. i have an elongated gooseneck style faucet which tends to retain a bit of an air gap in it so i'm not sure if that's part of the problem but almost everytime i shut the water off the light stays on. dissembling the lighting unit always resulted in trapped water coming out & sometimes leaving the unit on in my hand as there would be a drop on the internal water sensor. wiping the water off with my finger would shut the light off.
3. adapters may not fit your faucet. the kitchen (larger) faucet adapter worked fine, the faucets in my bathrooms though, where i thought to move it too, are too small for the 2nd adapter to work.

It looks great, it works - the water changes color ...
by Christian Glahn (3 out of 5 stars)

Though if you were looking to have something that was "accurately" going to tell you if the water was hot or not, don't count on it.

Typically I turn it on and the light is green, cool. It is very bright, you can see all over my double-stainless sink to fill a glass in the dark, or to rinse dishes without disturbing TV watchers while turning on the full blown light. As the water gets warmer it turns blue, then red, then red & blue flash (I think my water is getting pulled over) ... then it will sometimes just randomly go through red, green, blue even if the water is HOT. It eventually does turn, and stay red, but it's after it's been blue and green - and someone could have gotten burned already. Cold typically goes from Green to Blue and stays at blue after the water is at a constant for a little bit. ... So I like the product for the novelty, and the light is actually convenient -- but as an indicator, if that's what you wanted, there may be better.
