Lovely set, with some quality control issues

I first saw this set at a resort in the Maldives and really liked it. The set is well made with slightly subpar carving on the Knights

The queen base came unglued and I had to glue it

Similar to one of the the other reviewers here, same piece, same color, they might have some problem with the white queen bases during manufacture.

The colors are also quite similar to each other and it would have been good to have a darker wood for black, like ebony.

But on the whole, this is an excellent curio, a well made set and gives us a lot of pleasure while we use it and also when the set is lying on the coffee table unused

This is probably about the only chessboard in existence that can be moved with no pieces falling over. Great design, a delight to look at and a lot of fun to play. I play with both of my kids and they have a lot of fun with it as well. I usually have to tell them to stop playing with pieces that are off the board so I can concentrate.

Very poor packaging for such an expensive item

I was really disappointed. I have eyed this chess set for a long time and finally decided to splurge and purchase. I received it in a damaged box - ripped and torn - so that I now have no way to store the pieces and the board. For such an expensive item, I can not believe that this has happened! It is embarrassing to present the item for a gift given at how it looks!

It is a nice piece of decoration for your studio or living room, but definitely it is not meant to be played as the pieces wobble which makes it impossible to play with.

I just want to start off by saying it is an excellent piece of work yes I did have one or two pieces loose but it's fixable crazy glue and you get your piece back I polish it would simply wood polish and looks beautiful on display love my chest piece set and my kids enjoy playing with it

but there are some issues with packaging and color

Packaging is not endurable so I'd better buy a new case to keep them

and Some pieces are brighter than they are supposed to be
