Poor quality wood stock.

Several blemishes are cosmetic, one knot is directly on top of the arc. Barely shows under hand. Knots make weak spots. Bad choice of stock. Worse, there's a long cavity running about 6 inches just where your finger tips rest and grip. Looks like wood filler didn't set properly. Do you see in the photo, the void runs all along the arc. Hmmm. I'm going to try self repair as it's solid : otherwise. OK, it's wood filler. I'm still gonna try diggin out the old and re-repair

OK, I've decided that these canes should be avoided. The workmanship is crappy. Material is bent plywood, poorly bent, with several "soft" areas where it's all glue or wood putty.

Bottom line, I wouldn't recommend this cane for anyone who really needs a cane. If it's just a prop (no pun intended) then paint it black and you're all set. Price is low enough to keep it as an emergency cane.

Great value for a good cane!

Great value for a nice wood cane. The polyurethane coating was a little rough in places (but not too bad ... I'm a woodworker, and I'm picky 😁). However, I was planning to customize it anyway. I sanded off the coating, rubbed in several coats of mineral oil, stained it with ebony minwax, then sanded in several coats of Tru-oil gun stock finish. The grain of the wood is not that nice (very coarse), and it didn't take the stain well ... it ended up sort of splotchy but the unique look is sort of growing on me ... sort of an antique, worn look), but it's smooth as a baby's hiney 😁. I also sanded a slash cut on the end of the hook. I wanted to make a custom cane, and I figured at 15 bucks, no big deal if I messed it up. I may try some carving on it later, but I like it for now.

Got this as a gift for an ailing 80-ish lady to use as her 'daily driver' so she won't have to risk using her lucite spiral cane (also available on Amazon and a GREAT gift item!). Came with a nice and stable tip, lightweight, and a nice natural blond color instead of the usual faux wood canes in drugstores.

I am 6'3 and well over 200 lb.s and this cane fits me very nicely. I've been very active as of late and an old foot injury sometimes causes me a lot of pain but, this helps. It's tall enough and comes with its own rubber cap.

Bought to use in the barn

Bought for use in the barn so I don't mess up my "going to town" cane when working the cows. It's very solid, had to cut a couple of inches off of the bottom for a comfortable height (I'm 5" 7") to make it perfect. Even though I bought this for barn use, it looks very nice. It's a good, utilitarian cane. Can't go wrong if you need a good cane.

Chinese cane. Laminated. I have Chinese garden tools with laminated bamboo handles though I don't think this is bamboo. Good enough for the price and for what I will use it for (deterring pick pockets in Europe next spring).
10 24 2012 edit: Carried this jewel every where I went. Venice. Ismir. Istanbul. Naples. Rome. Believe me THEY notice! I used it to maintain a space BEHIND me. They couldn't get in to pick my pockets. The prospect of being whacked with it might have crossed a few minds as well! Came in handy stumbling through Pompeii too! No trouble with TSA and 3 different airlines. Walked right on with it! My trip was October first instead of spring. Good time to go. Cooler. Not as crowded.

Arrived on time. I was looking for a secondary cane as my aluminum one is falling apart and hurts my hand after a bit of walking. I was worried about getting one with a "cane" shaped handle but surprisingly, its working out well. Decently made and worth the price. I recommend.

This cane is attractive for a conventional wood cane, is substantial , and unlike some of the sexier canes on the market, has a crook that permits you to use both hands without a strap, used by the sexy models lacking the crook at the top of the handle. .. It is well finished and pleases my wife who uses the cane with confidence. If you need a cane for assistance walking and maintaining balance, this is the cane to buy.

Not nearly strong enough and barely tall enough for me. 194lbs 6ft tall. Handle shattered with not a great deal of pressure. Would be ok with lite use or smaller individual.
