INSTRUCTIONS TO AVOID BAD TASTE

The issue of bad taste is an issue with ALL alcohol stills-not just our product. It is the nature of alcohol distillation but it can be prevented
1. Wash all components before distilling. This removes any oils/residue from the manufacturing process which can cause bad taste
2. The first portion of the distillate that comes out of the alcohol still is called the "heads" and will ALWAYS taste bad. This is the nature of alcohol distillation with ALL alcohol stills, not just our product. No matter what alcohol you use, the "heads" (the first portion of the distillate) will always taste bad. Hence discard the "heads" to eliminate bad taste.
3. Taste can further be improved by using an Activated Charcoal Filter (such as a Brita). Detailed instructions are provided in the manual that is sent in every package

I love this .We bought it to have fun with some friends and found this easy to use, and we had a blast. It was surprisingly simple, and we were ready to go with a couple of cheap bottles of wine. The instructions were clear, and easy to follow and understand. I would highly recommend this still.

I received the TableTopStill as a gift and I absolutely love it! The directions were easy to follow and the set up was a breeze. Most importantly the customer support is exceptional. I had a moonshining question and in less than 24 hrs. I had received a detailed response from them. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. Its fun and my new favorite hobby!

Still works pretty good just a couple things.
1.) I wish the pot was bigger. I can only do about a half gallon at a time. I wanted to do slightly larger batches and with 5 gallons of mash It takes a while.
2.) It really burns through ice. With 2 gallons of wine I went through 20 pounds of ice
3.) The condenser is not large enough to condense all the vapors back to liquid so you loose some of what you are distilling. it is pretty easy to add an additional worm to the bottom of it like I did.

If I bought again I would go larger but a nice novelty unit.

Great product...I was looking at buying an electric one (much more $) and decided to try this product because of the other great reviews. Had it out of the box and up and running within 20 minutes...Everyone loves what I make....only word of caution is that everything needs to be cleaned really well before use the first time...I would suggest running something cheap through this the first time and throwing out all of what is made as soap and water didn't seem to clean it as well as using it once....every batch after the first which I had to discard has been perfect....highly recommended this product....well worth the $

We love our new toy and its so easy to use.I always thought booze making was a complicated process.ITS NOT.If you can follow a recipe you can make awesome spirits with this well made machine. We have purchased small bottles and will be making our own holiday elixer for our friends.Gin with spruce tips.YUM

I received the still, detailed instructions on how to set it up and use it, a free packet of Turbo Yeast (a great little bonus), and a hand written "thank you" letter from the TableTopStill men themselves.

This product was not made in China, and it shows. It's small, so don't plan on going into business, but the still works perfect. Make sure you load up the ice when using it ( i added some extra material on top of the cooling container to jam more ice in), and that's all there is to it.

It's still a surprise to me that college kids don't have these in every dorm room, no joke, because this is a great way to pass the time, at a cheap price, and end up with your own glass of spirits.

I recently purchased the Stainless Steel Alcohol/Moonshine Still. I have had the time to make a few runs with it and am now confident to write this review. The product was shipped in less than the estimated time period so I could get to using it pretty quickly after the purchase. The compact unit is well made and really easy to set up. I have always appreciated well made tools and equipment and this unit really fits that bill. Everything fits together really well and all the welds are clean and crisp- not always the case with things made of stainless steel as it is difficult to work. I was able to set up and run it on my cook top and drain it into the nearby bar sink. One of the reasons I was so interested in this unit was that I could operate it on my cook top while cooking and/or canning. It is important to monitor progress with any still to ensure a good product and change what you are distilling when all the alcohol has been extracted. The still worked very well. I have been a home winemaker for many years and occasionally have a "swill" batch that is in the 12-13% alcohol range, but tastes lousy. I have been using the Table Top Still to successfully make a usable product from this in a reasonable amount of time. I am extremely satisfied with the Table Top Still. It is well made, good looking, easy to set up, use and clean. It is not a large unit, but it is efficient and produces surprisingly quickly. I offer my strong recommendation to anyone looking to engage in home distilling.

GREAT PRODUCT! All parts are food grade stainless steel. Comes with all instructions and a bag of turbo yeast. I double distilled some cheap vodka. WOW!
