This combo of stainless steel touchless trashcans are designed and engineered by NINESTARS, the world's first legal patent holder. With one kitchen-sized and one bathroom-sized, you can use them in any room you choose, such as the kitchen, office bathroom, dorm room or a kid's room. These two trash cans use the most advanced sensor technology which can be found in all Ninestars trash cans. Pass your hand or debris within ten inches or a 130° angle from the infrared sensor and the lid will automatically open. The lid will remain open if debris or your hand remains within the range of the infrared sensor. After your hand moves away from the lid, it will close automatically. Each can includes a ring liner to keep trash bag from public view for a neat and clean appearance. Includes an inner plastic bucket (DZT-8-1c) for easy cleaning.

Not So Touchless Trashcan

I purchased the set about 18 months ago and they both worked great for a while. The kitchen can started acting crazy about 2 months ago (i.e.: opening slowly, opening by itself, and not opening when I activated the sensor). I cleaned the entire top, changed the batteries numerous times and went through the recommended tests, but nothing helps. I checked the price of a replacement head and it is as much as a new can. The bathroom can is still working, but for what I gave for them I think the kitchen can should last a lot longer.

The bins look nice, however the motors do not last and lids break. Both sizes have broken lids in less than six months and NINESTARS will not work with us to have it repaired or replaced. Very poor service. Will not purchase anything from NINESTARS again.

Easily the worst product i have every bought. Battery location is horrible, power switch is even worse. Hardly wver opens with motion. Always finding myself pulling it open. Just a total waste

Disgusting upkeeps

Things that I don't like:
1.) The switch on/off is inside the trash -- disgusting when you need to turn it off.
2.) The battery box is again inside the trash -- disgusting when you need to replace the battery.
3.) Moisture gets into the battery box and corrodes the coils in there and the trash stops working, so needs to be cleaned to work again -- disgusting!

I do not understand they can't put the battery box and switch on its side where it is easy to access.

I am fed up, I am replacing this!

We had the previous model for 6 years before the sensor broke and we decided to purchase the same one because it was a really good product. However, they have changed some features, which has made the trash cans worse not better. 1) The top portion of the large trash can does not fit as snug as on the older model. 2) The switch which turns off the power to the sensor, so one can replace the plastic bag, has been moved from the outer back part of the can the inside of the removable top portion; this means you have to rich inside the trash can (where all your garbage is :/) to turn it off/on. 3) The design of the small bin has been changed completely. This means instead of having a removable top section (like the large one), it has a lid that's attached to the metal body and a plastic liner can which has to be removed completely when taking out the garbage. 4) The lid does not open all the way, so taking out the liner can is difficult, requiring you to tilt it towards you as you pull it out, so if it's full the trash within will spill out. 5) I don't like the idea of washing a garbage can every time I clean it, so I still use a plastic bag in the smaller one. However, the liner can is fits so tightly within the metal body, that there is no room to hide the ends of the plastic bag, which means you can see the plastic bag handles/string coming out from under the trash can lid. The design of the smaller can is so annoying that I have stopped using it altogether.

I would not recommend this product and certainly will never purchase it again.

the ring holds the bag... honestly don't buy this set. i cannot tell you how disappointed i am. i have bought two of these and the larger can motion sensor quit on both within a few months. both did the same thing, stopped opening via the motion sensor. so now we must resort to pushing the open/close buttons to operate, or use the plastic tap to open it manually. sometimes the buttons don't work well so i find myself just using the plastic tab to avoid frustration. i contacted nine stars and they said they would repair/replace, but i have lost so much confidence in this product that i don't want to waste the money to ship.

I'm giving this 1 star for several reasons. 1) it comes with a rubber ring at the top that holds the bag in place that easily falls inside the trash if you're not careful (or if you have a helper who doesn't know about the ring). 2) the battery cover also comes loose and can fall into trash rendering the can unusable bc the batteries fall out into the trash as well. Mistakes happen so the biggest reason this is a one star is customer service. THERE ISNT ANY. I never could actually talk to a person so had to try to reorder parts that got "trashed" through email. Had to email many times and maybe after about a month, I got an answer. To replace the battery cover (similar to a remote control battery cover) was going to be $20!!!! The rubber ring was also very expensive. Don't order this product.

Cheap Stupid lid stops working

The thing seemed great in theory. But the lid stopped working shortly after we bought it. I don't see any replacements and I don't want to order a whole new can just to get a new lid.
