Good for small candy

So I got this for the office. The box clearly shows small jelly beans. You can also do Reece's Pieces or M&Ms. But only regular M&Ms or Peanut Butter M&Ms; but not Peanut M&Ms because apparently they are too big to work through this thing. Anything larger than a Peanut M&M will get stuck until it is literally grounded in to smaller chunks (because yeah, it has that much power). Sadly, it looks a design flaw that prevents peanut M&M's. They fit until you get the opening at the end. Instead of being rounded all the way, it has a straight edge at top (and only at the opening) which causes the candy to get stuck.

CandyMan dispenser
by Stuart H. Warren (3 out of 5 stars)

The CandyMan is bigger than I thought it would be.

It has several serving settings but the smallest setting is a good sized handful of M&M candy. It would be nice if it had more settings, smaller preferred.

If you mix the candy and make something like trail mix, the small setting is OK.

The silver base makes any dropped candy roll off the counter.

The motion detector is fairly sensitive but you have to be careful wiping down the counter or it will dump a handful of candy on the countertop or floor.

It is easy to clean since the clear top comes off, followed by the floor and then the auger that feeds the candy.

I purchased this for use in my office. Everyone loves it and thinks it's cool I was excited when I purchased it and went out and got 5 pounds of peanut M&Ms and pretzel M&Ms. Big mistake. They both caused it to jam. I had to pick them out individually to unclog the machine. Worried, I then purchased a package of plain chocolate M&Ms from the vending machine to see if they would work. When they worked fine, I purchased five pounds of them from the store. So far, it's working well with them. I notice from other reviews that peanut M&Ms work fine with others' machines. I guess the Cancyman machines were not made in a consistent fashion; it's hit or miss depending on the version you get. So don't buy it betting that you'll be able to use anything larger than plain M&Ms or skittles. If you do, you may be disappointed.

Have had this machine for years (this is my second one). Keep it at the office. Great product. Works with batteries or plugged in.

Expensive, but Awesome

While this product is overpriced, it is awesome. Put whatever candy you want inside, put in batteries, and stick out your hand. You get candy. It is a great way to dispense candy without people sticking their hands inside a jar.

There is even a light that comes on where the candy comes out when you put your hand there.

Price Too High for Dispensing Problems
by Andrea L Alfred (2 out of 5 stars)

I ordered one for our office to dispense peanut M&Ms. It does not dispense very well, it's sluggish and will only put out a few at a time no matter what serving size you choose. I guess the peanut M&Ms are too big. I'm glad I only purchased one. Will get manual dispensers for our office instead of the motion activated. People tended to drop them on the floor as they come out, threw away a lot of dropped peanut M&Ms. Not worth the high price.

oh what FUN!

I bought this as a gift for my son's 5 yr old birthday. It came early, so we set it up for his birthday party. It was a huge hit and a great ice breaker. We entertain quite often and the guests love it. It doesn't jam, it allows portion control, and it keeps germs from spreading. My son and his siblings use this everyday for their "dessert".

Great bar item

The dispenser and the ac adaptor came promptly and in excellent packaging. I have filled it with selected candies and it works beautifully. It sits on our bar is will used with no problems in reliably responding with the electric eye. Very pleased.

Cool idea but makes it too easy to gain weight :)

This is a really cool idea. Originally got it for a friend but decided to keep it. I probably gained 5 pound swiping my hand under this cool little gadget. Finally switched candy out for almonds and trail mix. Seemed to be a better option.

Candy Dispenser
by DStin (5 out of 5 stars)

We put M&M's in ours and is sure fun for our customers! It is a cool candy dispenser because of being motion-activated! Only thing is, if the desk is tapped hard enough by deliveries, etc., a few fall out to the floor & even when knob is turned to off. But we still love this dispenser!
