Excellent solar charger

Very nice charger. built very nicely and works exactly as described in product details. I wanted the product so that I could charge my IPhone 7 during power outages and on the extended hunting and hiking trips I take and it works perfectly, easily charging my phone. I also like the fact that you can remove the power storage unit and take it with you as a backup battery source. I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this charger.

Well worth it!

I am so close to rating this a 5 but there are just a few simple things Voltaic could do to make this product the best. These simple things would be huge to the customer (or at least me).
1. I'd replace the flexible band that holds the batter in with a split velcro strap. I take this in and out because it sits in a window with a carabiner hanging on a suction cup hook charging and then I take it out to charge my phones. The strap holds it in nice, but is not convenient if you remove the batter often.
2. add a small carabiner with the product so it is instantly able to clip to a backpack, hang on a hook in a window, etc.
3. a frame or single rod that allows the panels to stand on their own, so if you want to throw it in a window at home to charge, there's no need to run to the hardware store and pick up a bunch of parts to make it happen.

These are very small things. So far I do really love this product.

Great mini renewable energy source

I could, theoretically, never plug my phone into the wall again. The kit comes with adapters to plug into many mobile devices, including most current cell phone plugs for cell phones that charge off of USB. The solar panels charge a battery, which in turn, you can charge or run anything that is powered through USB. The outer shell is very durable, wont tear, and the solar panels are very durable. In full sunlight, the battery fully charges in a few hours. A fully charged battery will fully recharge my samsung galaxy precedent one time and still have some juice left. You can even have the battery plugged into the solar panels charging while the battery is charging your device. The kit totally lives up to all its claims as advertised. Very impressed. Would be great if you use the gps on your phone for camping and hiking. Would make an excellent gift for an outdoors person or someone who is into gadgets.

Great all in one small device charger.

I purchased this at full price. It worked. It charged my iPhone SE 2x on one charge. The panels charged the battery pack from 50% to full in about 4 hours. It charged my iPad 4 by about 15%, however, this is not designed to charge large devices. I ended up returning it for something more suitable to my needs from another company. Suntactics: [...]

If you just need a all in one solution to charge your phone and or camera then the Voltaic Systems 4.0w is probably your best bet.

My son took this solar charger to the 2017 National Boy Scout Jamboree. It worked great and kept his cell phone charged. IT was easy to use, small & compact -so it fit nicely in his day pack.

Great solar charger, takes a really long time to charge

I really enjoy this product. It charges my phone as fast as a wall plug-in charge. The only issue I can forsee is if it is low battery and you need an emergency charge, it needs hours of solar charging before the battery can be used to charge your phone or other devices. Direct sunlight or in the windshield of a car works best. I tried to charge it through a sun lit window of my house and it was not effective.

Used this on a 5 day backpacking trip and it performed wonderfully! A great product that even has a warranty! The last solar charger (a different brand) I bought died after using it twice. This one has a better design/functionality and the removable battery pack is really nice! Highly recommended...

Units do not work as claimed.

Units do not work as claimed. Battery never charges up, even when plugged into a wall charger.

Purchased 2 on the same order and neither of them work.

Not sure if they sat on the shelf too long or what, I won't be buying this product again!

Solar panel will not charge phone when connected directly either.

So I purchased $200.00 worth of junk.

Gave this to friends for Christmas

Most of my friends have ditched their land lines in favor of cell phones only. But during power outages they have no way to recharge their phones. Problem solved! This handy device works well and charges quickly--even from a window inside our house. It is great for emergencies. My friends thing I am techno-savy and brilliant to give such a gift.

I plugged everything I own into this little device to see if it could charge it up. Old phones, new phones, 3 different nooks, my Galaxy TAB 10.1, etc. All worked without a hitch. I keep it on the seat of my car where it stays charged for emergencies. No complaints at all and even my non-techie wife thinks it's cool!
