Kids Love It

The kids that came to my house trick-or-treating about died every time they saw this guy. They loved him and sure made us a hit. He stands fairly tall and has a decent sized bowl. One word of caution is that when you load the bowl, he will tip over. I had to put a weight in his hollowed-out back to stop him from tipping over.

So this thing was bigger than I expected. I'm a child psychiatrist and Yoda is offering my kids healthy sugar-free candies in my office. He's like 2.5 feet tall, which for some reason is bigger than I expected. Fits on my window sill well and is pretty eye-catching. He's made of some sort of foam and I think wouldn't survive rough-housing, but otherwise is badass

Star Wars Fans beware....

Like the other review said this item looks cool in the photo. But its poorly made, over all. I ordered this one as well as the Darth Vader one for Halloween this year. I payed express shipping for the Boba Fett so I could have at least one of them for Halloween night in my neighborhood. I ordered both on Friday, both arrived on Monday. The Darth Vader sent regular USPS and arrived hours before the UPS shipped Boba Fett arrived.

Aside from shipping which is my own dilemma. Here are some facts and features to be aware of.
1) The figures are hollow, not solid. This makes it very easy for them to fall over when anything is in the bowl. There is no back to the figurine. This could allow for a weight of some sort to be placed but the description i read online does not say this.
2) the bowl is very thin and cheap plastic, thinner in my opinion than most plastic shells on todays toys for kids
3) the one saving feature is the paint application on both of my candy holders seems to be really well done.
4) the diminutive stature and slight pot belly of the figure is cute as humorous as my daughter has put it.

As a Star Wars fan i am both happy for something fun like this item, but really think the quality was not up to what it could have been and believe the price reflexes more the license than the quality of the product.

Warning: All statues have a hollow back (not shown in photos for Boba Fett, but seen in product photo for Stormtrooper, shown again here), so need to leave up against wall (vs. on kitchen island counter as a fruit bowl holder, as would have preferred, or even kitchen counter if wasn't so tall).

Also bowl is disposable plastic kind (like fast food salad bowl), but you can replace the bowl yourself (as long as same size or smaller, since it's a tight fit).

And, though I kinda like the funny, Funko Pop-like caricature of Boba Fett, I could do without the fat belly... (visible through empty plastic bowl or if remove bowl).

I exchanged one I received due to black paint smeared all over thumb, but will keep

I love this silly thing. We put him out every year and use the honor system so we can take the kids trick-or-treating and still "hand out" candy. I'm honestly afraid he's going to get stolen since he's so cool--this year we did come home to the empty bowl on his head but that was it. He's a party animal.

The bowl is pretty small and flimsy, I tried giving him a bigger, sturdier one but it didn't fit. I usually set an extra basket of candy by his feet and it's no big deal. I expected him to topple over when the bowl was full but he's plenty sturdy.

I wasn't expecting him to be made of...well, I'm not entirely sure what it is, it feels like papier-mâché. I expected it to suck and fall apart but two halloweens later its still all in one piece.

I recommend purchasing one of these guys!

This is "Life Size" if you consider how big Yoda should be! He is backless to be able to stand him against a wall, but you can't tell even from the side. He's just backless enough to sit flush to the wall. He is fully heavy foam, awesome detail, no defects in creation or paint. The detail causes photos to make him look like he's wearing cloth. Nope, all foam. Not a deal breaker. He's just perfect if you're a Yoda fan.

What started out as a gift for a co-worker star wars fan, turned into a new office decoration for me. This thing is fantastic! It is now my candy/fruit bowl holder depending on how healthy I'm feeling. Make sure to add a little weight in the back and your all set. Co-worker got wine instead.

Buyers should be aware...

First, this product looks great from the front. It's exactly as pictured.

However buyers need to be aware of some important facts.
1. The figure is one-sided. He has no back and is hollow.
2. The bowl is very cheap, thin plastic, very much like the plastic used in product packaging.
3. The figure is best described as painted styrofoam.

Honestly, if I had known these fact prior to purchase, I probably would not have bought this item. I don't think I'll return it, but I don't want others to buy it without knowing the all the facts.

If you just want it for its looks or you're a mega-Star Wars fan, this may still be something you'll want.

It you want a full figure that is durable, I advise you to look elsewhere.

The paint job on this guy is gorgeous he is awesome. good size bowl, he is hollow on the back. I took one star off because there's not enough weight in his legs if you put too much candy in the bowl he wants to tip forward but easily fixed with a weight.

This Stormtrooper Candy Bowl Holder is awesome! A friend praised the Boba Fett ( Star Wars Boba Fett Candy Holder ) one he got last year, so I looked into these and became leery from some of the negative reviews I saw posted. Toughing through those was difficult, but I eventually decided to bite the bullet and make the purchase.

I love it! This little stormtrooper is sturdy and doesn't wobble. I have no fear that it will topple over even if the provided (cheap, cheap, cheap plastic) bowl is filled to the top with candy. As other reviews and the description mention, this candy bowl holder is only the front half of the stormtrooper. The back is hollow so the holder can go flat up against a wall, and there is room inside where you could put weights or otherwise anchor the holder if you think there is a chance it could get knocked over.

The stormtrooper candy bowl holder is very obviously made with a foam material, which makes it fairly light weight. It won't do for holding really heavy objects, but it wasn't meant for really heavy objects. Still, the foam feels sturdy and durable. From a couple feet away, it looks great, but on closer inspection you can see foam texture, and there are tiny flecks of missing paint, which are particularly visible on the black parts of the stormtrooper. Fine details don't come through well with the foam either, so wen you take a close look, there are definitely flaws. I was disappointed in that, especially the missing paint. It's what knocked a star off of this review. I have included a couple of pictures showing some of these small flaws in craftsmanship.

Despite those little problems, I have no doubt this product will be durable and will look great for years to come. First thing Monday he's going up on my desk at work!

This child size demon Ewok was delivered prompt and on time to my door by a giggling UPS man. I too giggled hysterically upon seeing said Ewok because I failed to look at the dimensions. I thought that I'd put him on the kitchen counter to hold my fruit and to protect me from baddies. I was wrong. He is the baddie and stares at me with black maniacal demonic death eyes at every angle. I know that he'll murder me in my sleep someday and I feel better with him being hollow and without a back...yet that is even more terrifying if he were to come to life and chase me. 5 stars all the way. The bowl is flimsy and cheap. It's really for souls, not candy. Holds potatoes well. Currently sitting on a demon trap that I drew on my floor with crayon.
**Sidenote: Demon Ewoks are delightful to dress up in holiday themed headbands.
