Spruced up our old '90's fireplace!!

I am so excited that I got this reflective glass for our fireplace! We have an old '90's fireplace in our home, and the previous owner just had sand and lava rocks in it. When we moved into the house we couldn't figure out how to get the fireplace to work so we never paid attention to it. One day my father in law (whom is very handy) figured out how to get things working (it's not electric, it's gas), and BAM! now we have a fireplace we can use! After the excitement of the now working fireplace had worn off, I started getting jealous of all the modern, fancy fireplaces I would see with the pretty rocks... after convincing my husband that I needed to spruce up the fireplace, I purchased this reflective glass (in copper) and it has made ALL the difference!! I was afraid it wouldn't look good, since all the reviews I read for this glass was for outdoor fire pits or newer fireplaces, but let me tell you this looks great, even in our old '90's fireplace! The 10 lb bag was enough for us since I just layered the glass on top of the existing lava, and there was no deep pit to fill. Anyways, I just wanted to post this in case any one else is wondering whether an old built in gas fireplace will look good with this reflective glass, let me tell you, IT DOES!

As long as you are aware of how much 10 lbs actually is, then you will love this fire glass. 10 lbs = about 3/4 of a gallon.

Very nice quality but size not very uniform

The glass is very nice quality and the appearance is very nice as well. However, the size is supposed to be 1/4" but there are MANY much larger size pieces which I really did not want for my gas fireplace. Many pieces are larger than an inch. I took a good deal of time to arrange the fireglass so the much larger pieces were not quite so obvious and it looks very good.

The original fireglass which came with my fireplace was very uniform in size, so I did not expect this. I bought the new fireglass because I wanted a color change and shiny new glass.

Overall nice quality item but they should better control uniformity of the size of peices.

I have a small firepit that is propane. Garden Treasures 29.92-in W 20,000-BTU Charcoal Finish Steel Propane Gas Fire Pit available at L O W E S. for 149. I left the lava rock around the outer edge of the ring. Put Black firerocks in middle of ring since propane burns dirty then used the blue to surround the black.. tried to make a star shape out of black - looks more like a flower. Anyway for this size pit which is smaller then 29" cause that is measurement of lip around pit... it took 1/2 bag of black for middle and then 1 full bag of blue for around. If I did not have lava rocks - I would have easily used 2 blue bags. It looks beautiful... love the fire rocks

Not what I expected! Small Pieces & lots of dust in bag!!

This fireglass was recommended for the fire pit I purchased, but the size was way too small! Lots of "dust" in the bag. There is no way that the quantity recommended would cover the area. Amazon should include in their reasons for return that "Item was not what I was expecting."

Please open box and check product as soon as you receive it. I unfortunately opened it after the return window and see that the product is notthe same color. I ordered 2 boxes of Charcoal and one is black and the other is white in color. Not even a close match. Unfortunately waited too long to check and now stuck with product I dont need.

Very beautiful, but 10 pounds is only about equal to a gallon ziploc bag and it is actual glass... the shards are sharp and will be dangerous if used in a way where people (esp kids) might be tempted to touch them.... because they are just so darned beautiful

Love it! We had lava rocks that came with it that we're bland. We ordered 2 bags and put some of the lava rocks down as a base & then poured the glass over them. We made sure that the lava rocks were over the air vents for the gas intake. Also by using some of the lava rocks, we did not need anymore glass. They completely covered the rocks and made a good mound.

LOVE this glass so clean I use it in My art and I LOVE it. High quality and you get a lot for what you pay. I think it's awesome they give you an option for a sample, definitely recommend !
