Better for chocolate than ice!

Got this to make chocolates for my son's Star Wars themed birthday party. White chocolate storm troopers and chocolate Darth Vaders. I was up late for a week after work making enough to give out as party favors. One each. They turned out freakin' AWESOME! Highly recommended if you are using them for chocolates. For ice, the detail fades immediately, not really much fun in that.

If you're making chocolates make sure to go to a candy store for their meltable drops. They could also give you hints to make them come out better.

Awesome Little Ice Molds

Another part of a Star Trek gift I got my friend. She really enjoyed it and told me they were not only good for ice, but even jello shots! I wouldn't know because she didn't invite me to her party, but girls will be girls I suppose.

The mold is smaller than I had expected, so if you wish to cool a drink it may take at least two or three to provide a well balanced cool drink.

I purchased these for an adult star wars themed party and they were a big hit. I actually made chocolates with them. A few tips:
- If you plan on making a lot, buy more than 1
- Not-so-great for Jell-o Shots
- Once you pour in the chocolate, softly hit it (or drop) against the counter until there are no more bubbles rising to the top

These are pretty big molds for chocolates. I tried jell-o shots but they were not stable enough for extraction.. I tried though :) I have yet to make ice with these, but I soon will.

I also purchased the Boba Fett and Darth Vader molds which were equally as awesome!

The look cool. But lets face it. After they start to melt, they look like "other things". Maybe use for molding other things like chocolate and not for stuff that melts and loses definition.

My only complaint is that it is only six cubes! This was the first time I had used a silicone tray for ice. So easy. Cubes pop right out!

We purchased this as a birthday gift for a young man in our church. His parents said it is the most favorite gift he has ever received. He refuses to drink a beverage that does not contain Startrooper ice cubes. Their freezer contains a separate ice bin specifically for the Startrooper ice cubes. The child is responsible for empting the tray into the bin, refilling the tray, and placing it back into the freezer, meaning he is learning the values of responsibility, advance planning, and delayed gratification.

I've used this several times so far and it's been no problem. Very detailed and easy to use. I wish there were a few more pieces to a mold though. There are just 6.
